2.0 out of 5 stars arriving from Hong Kong - SLOWLY, 19 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
these are really lovely little bright bicycle lights - the only problem is they came from China, via Hong Kong and took ages to arrive in which time we went out and bought new lights from somewhere else. They are really small and good though - nice anc bright - and cheap - how on earth they get this product to you from the other side of the world for this amount of money is beyond me. It's just all a little strange.

1.0 out of 5 stars can't set it up, 5 Aug 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought a kindle for a friend's birthday and having accidentally broken my own in the past I bought insurance in a bundle with it - it arrived registered to me, which is no use whatsoever - I tried contacting them via email but they want me to phone a help number in the USA to set it up - they can't seem to cope with me being in England and this being a gift - I've emailed them again asking for instructions but nobody has got back to me - this was supposed to make life easier - I may as well have just set fire to my money for all the use this is being to me

1.0 out of 5 stars Half the pages are missing, 17 Mar 2013

If you love Dr Seuss and especially if you love Fox in Socks - DO NOT BUY THIS - this is a board book edition and for some incomprehensible reason they have left out half of the pages. Totally and utterly WRONG.

3.0 out of 5 stars USA version, 7 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Apple MD199B/A TV (Electronics)
this is not a genuine UK model but a USA model with a non-apple power cable thrown in - so not quite right and I think they should be honest and tell you that upfront

5.0 out of 5 stars use this for everything, 3 July 2012
I've waited quite a while to write this review to see if I stopped using it - I'm a bit of a gadget freak and my garage is full of things I've thought were going to be great and then after a while I've tired of them and they've ended up unloved and unused - this machine I use every day. I've found I cook everything in it - it's really good to roll up bacon and stand it on it side and it cooks really quickly and crispy in a couple of minutes for bacon sandwiches - we put microwave meals in it, like macaroni cheese and it comes out with a lovely crispy top and cooked all the way through - wrap chicken breast in palma ham with a sprig of herbs, home made pain au chocolate - all crispy on the outside and soft melted chocolate in the middle. The only issue with it are getting the basket in and out - you need to watch out as the release button pulls the basket up and drops the base (which will crack and I've had to replace it once) - so make sure the base is standing on something when you do this and it does take up a lot of room in the dishwasher. On the other hand it's there, ready to use, heats up in minutes, cooks everything crispy and fast and the timer which switches it off makes it easy for the kids to use. Love it :D

5.0 out of 5 stars wish I'd bought one earlier, 30 April 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
this is really, really good - I kept looking at it and thinking about it and finally thought - well I can always send it back - but it is brilliant. It's really light weight and small but I can connect it up to my ipad (using video out leads I got from Amazon ages ago) and watch my films etc with friends without the need for a tv. The darker you can get the room and the whiter the wall the better, but I have managed to watch in daylight by projecting it onto a piece of paper held in front of it. It's much nicer than watching a screen as you don't have that "staring at a screen thing" - if you know what I mean - it's more like going to the cinema and much more restful on the eyes. If you get migraines watching a screen this is a much more natural way of watching a film - my son likes to project it onto the ceiling and lie in bed watching movies. It's also a lot easier than lugging a tv around with you. I just wish I'd bought it ages ago. Didn't need to look at the instructions - took me about 5 seconds to work out how to use it, really intuitive and user friendly. Like the accessories too - basically - all GOOD

1.0 out of 5 stars seriously worrying - I wish there were minus stars, 23 Mar 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this as I'd left my cable somewhere. I plugged it in and almost immediately it started ticking loudly - I touched it and it was very hot, then there was a bang and a big puff of smoke as basically it blew up. I am not sending it back as I want to send it to Trading Standards as I think this is seriously dangerous - thank goodness I was there and unplugged it quickly before my house burnt down.

3.0 out of 5 stars had to edit my review, 5 Oct 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Update: 5 November 2010 - as promised I have "upped" my rating as the replacement has (so far) proved to be OK. KA

I've had to take my original review off as the comments that I was receiving were really upsetting my son (people suggesting that I should do the world a favour and kill myself etc)

But I will still say that there is a problem with these as a percentage are faulty and they break down after people have been using them for a while (and in some cases after they have been giving them glowing reviews). I loved my kindle. It died. I have a new one. If it keeps working I will up my rating for it but in the meantime I think people should be aware that there are problems with some of them and when you are paying a lot of money for something you are relying on to work (for example going away and not taking any books with you) then this product probably isn't the best way to go - yet - once they get them sorted they should be fantastic. BUT, they are not reliable and at the end of the day reliability is paramount.

Please if you are going to comment on this could you try and do so without saying anything that will upset my son. Thank you. KA
