The Dying Light
Without giving away to much of the story line, this book should be required reading for all UK citizens. It tells a very believable tale of Government intervention into the lives (and control) of all UK citizens. Set in the very near future, just after the 2012 Olympics, it is a story that rings true now!

The Cold Six Thousand

'Enthralling' says the Sunday Times.
'Knockout'says the Guardian.
I am sorry, but I do not get it!
'This story reminds us how far ahead of his peers Elroy really is'says the New Statesman.
Really?
It appears to me that James Elroy use a Browning Automatic Rifle, a 'BAR' as a pen!
Sometimes. That's a sentence!
More?

The Casino Operators Council flew him.
They supplied first class fare.
They tapped their slush fund.
They greased him.
They fed him six cold.
Nobody said it:
Kill that coon.
Do it good.
Take our hit fee.

And on, and on, and on, page after page of staccato writing.
I think this is the first time I have ever given up on a book!
This book is written by an American, for Americans who can remember the 1960s.
As far as I am concerned it is a waste of a tree.
