2.0 out of 5 stars Sloppy, 9 July 2013

As much as I like Feist, its always annoyed me that the proof reading for his books is almost non-existent. Full of proofing mistakes and errors, you kind of get used to them, until you get to this book.

Amongst all the usual mistakes, a rather massive string of mistakes appears. The word "die" which, as you can imagine turns up quite a lot, has almost universally been replaced by the word "the" instead. "He was scared to the."

Unbelievably sloppy and ruins an otherwise decent book.

I have no idea if these massive cockups appear in the other versions, but the Kindle editions of all of his books are riddled with them. One of his books has a massive error on the first sentence ffs.

2.0 out of 5 stars A review written by someone without a typing impediment, 4 Dec. 2012
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Xbox 360 Slim with 4 GB (Console)
As the other reviews are, at best, ridiculous, I thought there should be a balanced review written by someone who isn't a deficient.

The console is good, a big improvement over the old versions. A lot more reliable and lot more quiet, especially when games are installed. Unfortunately, this edition comes with a 4Gb HDD which means you'll only be able to install a small percentage of games (as most games are well over 4Gb in size to install) which makes it a bit pointless.

Don't buy this one. Buy the 250Gb edition, it's only a little more expensive and is cheaper than having to buy the HDD separately when you realise just how pointless 4Gb is. You can't do anything on it. It's enough room for saving 3 standard definition movies, or one 45 minute high definition TV episode.

Do not buy this version*

*unless you already have a 250Gb and you've broken it, in which case you can just put that HDD into this one, which'll work fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's rather good, 25 Nov. 2012
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
First, I'll begin with a short summary of most of the other reviews here so far.

1. "OMG I'm crap at the game, the game must be broken. 1 star. lol."
2. No, there's just 1.

Everyone who plays FM knows what to expect. A solid game with the occasional problematic bugs which get ironed out each year through patches (you know, like every single other game that's been released. Well, except for those who decided not to release patches to fix anything, of course. They know who they are).

For the first time proper, your success at FM relies completely on your ability to create a well balanced tactic. Get things wrong and you'll be punished FAR more than previous FMs. Luckily, it's pretty easy to put together a solid tactic once you accept the fact that most "issues" with the game are things you can do something about. Try visiting the official sigames Tactics forum, which offers loads of help to people learning, or having to relearn, how to build a solid tactic.

Get those basics right, and the game becomes much less stressful...

Lots of nice additions overall help draw you into the game's footballing world more than any previous FM, and if you don't have the time for a full-on game, there's a new "Classic" mode which harks back to the CM01/02 days and offers a much simpler, quicker way to play the game.

What ever you do, don't mix this up for the Steps EP of the same name. The5-6-7-8's are a 3-piece japanese band of banshee-esk girls who haverecenly shot to the surface as the band from the huge fight-scene in KillBill Vol.1. Dirty and raw which some fantastic guitar riffs and excitingdrums. This band is as original as it's still possible to get (forget theDarkness, this is it the real thing.). Tarantino loves them (after heconvinced a clothes-shop clerk in Japan to sell his copy on hearing itwhile passing by to catch a plane), Kurt Cobain would have loved them, Ilove them, so should you.

This review is from: Meat Puppets (Audio CD)
The Meat Puppets. Wow. This is a fantastic album. The vocals are out of tune, the guitars and bass are rough as hell and the drummer doesn't seem to know the songs, but that is it's beauty. If you're fed up with the pseudo-punk of bands like Sum 182 and Blink 41 and want a REAL punk album, then this will be the best money you ever spent. If you're unsure where you've heard the name before, they played 3 of their own songs on Nirvana's MTV unplugged (Plateau, Lake Of Fire, Oh Me) and they also played (more recently) on an episode of Michael Moore's TV Nation, where they headlined "Corp-Aid". Fantastic. Even with the dodgy vocals. 5 stars.

It may be a kids book, but I'm 22 and loved every word of it. This contains all seven Narnia books, including the Lion Witch Wardrobe book (which is brilliant, but not the best here, in my opinion). For those of you who have only read LionWitchWardrobe, then this is a must, as it becomes a very deep and symbolic book, which you didnt stand a chance at understanding when you were six. It's also brilliant for reading to your kids, they'll love it even more than you will. And then they'll also get the joy of redescovering it when they're grown up. 5 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great place to start, or finish., 19 Nov. 2002

As a student of Music Technology, I found this book extremely useful and helpful. With sections on Mixing, Sound Panorama, EQing, Effects, Dynamics, Monitoring, Mastering and some of the history leading up to current times. Has a whole section dedicated to Surround Sound mixing, which I havent seen anywhere else. Uses quotes taken from interviews with some of the world's best mixers (Joe Chiccarelli, Jerry Finn, Kevin Killen etc) to illustrate each section. All of the interviews are uncut at the back of the book.
A very good buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant., 19 Nov. 2002
This review is from: Rocky (PS2) (Video Game)
This is, simply, a really good game. It has everything, even Mr. T. Have you ever sat back and watched the Rocky films, placing yourself in Sly Stallone's shoes? Well, now you can actually do it. All of the famous opponent's are here (Apollo Creed etc) and even some of the boxer's that were only mentioned (including the one who dropped out and gave his place to Rocky). Even Tommy Gunn makes an appearance.
I've said it before, so I'll say it again.
Brilliant.

5.0 out of 5 stars Midway have done it again., 19 Nov. 2002
The latest installment of the NHL Hitz series is possibly the most fun you can ever have playing hockey. Even more fun than the really thing, as it doesn't hurt when you get into fights (unless of course your friend beats you for the umpteenth time).
Everybody's there. A huge list of licensed NHL teams and hundreds of unlockables, including new teams and uniforms.
Lots of different modes, but none are as fun as the multiplayer, which is where this game really shines.
This time round the goalkeepers have been improved, so you have to work that little bit harder.
Great fun.
