Need to protect your shinny mobile screen? This the one - or rather the 5. These will outlast your interest in the phone!

1.0 out of 5 stars The discomfort of Authors, 20 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not being aware of this author’s work, this, a slight volume, might have encouraged me more to read him further. But no – not yet. The narrative structure is weak and unfocused. The characters do not engage and do not connect with the reader. They drift aimlessly through an unnamed a tourist city where the restaurants close at 9 pm? And the meeting with the ‘Strangers’ is both unconvincing and ludicrously contrived.

4.0 out of 5 stars The myths, with answers, of Jewish claims of Statehood and ownership of land., 20 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Shlomo Sand continues his investigation into the identity of those who now live in Israel and attacks not only the ‘standard version’ of Jewish history, i.e. that Jews were given by God the land formally known as Cannan but that the whole myth of origins and development of Jewish history is deeply flawed. A ‘must read’ for all those interested in dissembling the definitions the Land of Israel and Jewish State.

2.0 out of 5 stars Where for art thow 'Something from Nothing'., 20 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A useful introduction to a complicated subject. A degree in Cosmology or Particle Physics would help. The real issue in the creation of the Universe, something from nothing, is not addressed – nor, of course, can it.

2.0 out of 5 stars non starter, 16 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Big problem from the off. The back cover was impossible to remove. A push on the camera lens (not a good idea to start with) to open proved impossible. Opening with screwdriver force clearly not an option - hence return to Amazon. Will try a reorder then a more positive report.

4.0 out of 5 stars Long on post Big Bang - short on pre., 8 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Although purporting to be for a general readership ‘A Universe from Nothing’ requires a fair degree of understanding of particle physics as well as an imagination that can comprehend the now accepted theory that all matter, space and time evolved from the size of sub atomic particle. Where this sub atomic particle came from is not addressed nor can it be as there is no language to describe something with no meaning. Long on post Big Bang; less than short on pre.

2.0 out of 5 stars No RangeMax, 26 April 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This Netgear Rangmax product was supposed to work with the Panasonic DMR-HW100 HDD recorder but despite attempts to configure all failed. Looks like the much more expensive 'dedicated' Panasonic product is the only option or living without it's dubious delights. But as always very impressed with Amazon's returns service and trust both Panasonic and NetGear take note.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but missing advertised item., 24 Mar 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a workman like item which should have included an automatic voice playback control which the manual does say is included on the European version of the device. This was not so therefore it seems that a non European version is being sold on Amazon.

2.0 out of 5 stars BlackBerry Blues, 6 Jan 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The Blackberry 8520 seemed a good compromise between a standard mobile phone and the advanced features of the multi-featured smart phones. Having a standard Nokia mobile I had hoped that my contacts and calendar entries could be easily integrated into the Blackberry but this was the first disappointment; only names and numbers but no other supporting info. The main problem is that the device is advertised, both on the Blackberry web site and in the user guide, as having two email setting options: the first should allow you to set up your own email setting options and the second was to set up Blackberry's own Enterprise email. However when accessing the email setup only the Enterprise email option was available. On investigation at the Blackberry web site it seemed that a core upgrade was required but this upgrade was not available for the 8520. This is a serious flaw as it is clear from the published information by Blackberry that this model can configure other email clients. The 8520 is on the way back to Amazon. The final decommissioning act I carried out was deleting all contacts and calendar entries, this revealed another unexpected flaw: all contacts had to be removed individually - all 126! Again the Blackberry web site finally suggested downloading its desktop management facility and through this multiple deletions was possible. Nothing in the manual or online guides on this topic however. And a direct email contact to Blackberry support is non existent. It would seem that this model is really aimed at already dedicated Blackberry users who have already set up all the desktop peripheral support that Blackberry requires to complement the stand alone device (stand alone??). All in all not a good experience for me and the search for that good standard mobile/smartphone continues.
