5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent excellent french house, 22 July 2005
This review is from: Hotel Byblos Vol. 3 (Audio CD)
The first CD is all old school, as in 1965 ish french music exactly like it says on the box. Its cool and relaxed, and just right for dinner and relaxed drinks on the terrase in the afternoon.
The second is banging funky house with a real feel good vibe.
It'll leave you smiling and pumped.
The other two are just the same, the club is a gem, I recommend going there, although it is very VIP. Just like the tunes in the collection.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cool, 5 Sept. 2004
I enjoyed the book and managed to read it rather quickly. It doesn't really seem to achieve its goal, because Lizzie Simon goes off on tangents a fair bit and at times I wasn't convinced she knew what she wanted to write about. More information on her interview subjects would have been interesting, as well as maybe a description of the different treatment methods they are experiencing, but maybe thats not what she was trying to write. Taking a step back, the fact that it stops and changes direction, is funny then sad and sometimes tragic, that the subject matter is a little blurred.....thats what being bipolar's about anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark humour, 5 Sept. 2004
Its a fabulous story and picks up so much of life in the cloud of depression. Things happen all the time and you are unable to control them, sometimes you give up, sometimes you are suprisingly strong. It captures the essence of those times well, and maintains a sharp but dark sense of humour throughout.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, 5 Sept. 2004
This review is from: An Unquiet Mind (Paperback)
Its really nice to read something that makes you feel less alone. Her experiences are different from mine but the feelings that go with them the same. Its good to know others understand all that hard to explain stuff. Kay Jamison is a remarkable person, and has fully dedicated herself to unraveling the bipolar beast. Thank you Dr Jamison.
