Engaging characters, a good storyline and an excellent pace throughout makes this series a must read for fantasy lovers. I didn't want it to end!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, 29 Aug. 2013
This is the third time I've bought this brilliant book. I keep lending it to people and not getting it back! Finally bought it on Kindle so I can't lose it again. Well worth re-reading though, great inform places and lots of interesting by-talk on rock music as well. Love it- and I'm a southerner!

Having read other Sharon Green series I knew roughly what to expect here but found it even better than anticipated. If you've enjoyed the warrior women aspects but not the sex slave stuff so much this book is definitely for you!
The heroine is a Duke's daughter who was sent away as a child and ended up becoming a Blade - a sword warrior. When called home, the adventures really begin ... Lots of fighting, great male and female characters and enough sex to make it interesting.
Well worth a read!

I'm not going to write much here as I've commented elsewhere but wanted to be able to post my '1 star' review.

In summary - too much repetition, very little plot, no development of characters, no tying up any story lines (eg Clan trading, Durc, Ayla's sons meeting etc etc) and all in all, a VERY POOR BOOK! After waiting so long for it, I wish I had waited to see the reviews before pre-ordering.....
