5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent music but..., 7 Oct. 2012
Given this five stars for Bruce's greatest music at a fantastic price.

But....both my friend and I bought copies and Darkness on the Edge of town disk will not work in a computer.i got a replacement from my vendor and it still did not work.

so I think there is a production fault.

I was a little concerned about why I had not seen this product on sale or why it had not been suggested by my Dr or Optician but blepharitis was driving me mad and none of their recommendations had worked. So far so good. No longer have pink swollen eyes so i am very pleased

5.0 out of 5 stars Luxury, 1 Jan. 2011

Expensive (even though I bought it in the sale) but it really feels like you get your money's worth. If you are fed up with struggling to put things in bins with your hands full/wet; have had bins with lids that fly up erratically and hit the wall noisily; have had bins with pedals that do not work properly; have had bins that rust and mark the floor - then getting this rolls royce of bins is a bit of a revelation. A simple thing that does its job properly to make life nicer and easier.

Like a literary comfort blanket that can make you smile whenever you dip into these books. As well as starring two of the greatest comedy literary creations of all time in Jeeves and Wooster, the main star is the ability of Wodehouse to write. It is Wodehouse's brilliant turns of phrase and descriptions that mainly provide the many laugh- out- loud moments. I loved the TV adaptation starring Fry and Laurie too because the writers were aware enough to keep much of Wodehouse's language intact - so it truly was a literary adaptation. But the beauty of these books is that you really feel the joy of reading -rather than just following a story-or consuming a product. And of course you can read them time and again, which is why this boxset is a worthwhile investment.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just not getting the hype., 10 April 2010

This review is from: Wolf Hall (Paperback)
I admit to only being half way through this book. However I'm finding it a very strange brew. It's trick seems to be to add a credibly imagined, but very mannered, narrative and dialogue to a dramatic historical story that one can feel vaguely smug about knowing from history lessons. I don't think I am either gaining any new historical insight or being treated to a new or interesting literary experience. Hope to be pleasantly surprised by the second half - I must admit the first mention of "Wolf Hall" by the "Seymour girl" has made me hope that better is to come.
