Not much to be said about this really other than it's really easy to put together(I didn't have to look at the supplied instructions), is extendable and also stackable.

Chrome finish and for the price of £8 delivered is a real gem.

2.0 out of 5 stars Laptop Hung......, 12 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
Paintshop ProX3, well having been used to Photoshop I gave it a go.

I found some of the menus annoying, even when trying to just edit a photo I had problems printing it after, the program kept hanging. I set about trying to download updates for the program, which was fine, after that I tried editing as before this time Paintshop X3 worked fine and printed the photo OK, but not fantastic. I use an Epson R2000 when printing quality photos, I have noticed when using X3 prints come out almost 'mushy' not as sharp as the same printed photo in Photoshop, why I don't know?

After this experience I am going back to my Photoshop, shame because I use to like Corel products !

4.0 out of 5 stars Good CAD software, 12 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
Had some time to try and get used to this Corel CAD software, I've been used to TurboCAD before this.

Software installs easily with no hassles.

Using this CAD program is much like most other mid range CAD's, layout and tools are very similar to TurboCAD and also AutoCAD. The problem I have with Corel CAD is the lack of any visual guides, which I do miss indeed. There are online guides on how to use this program though.

I'm a cabinet maker by trade and design various furniture pieces using CAD as a drawing aid, so far using CorelCAD I have managed to design several pieces but with some niggles along to way, which for the most part were my own fault. Designs look good printed on A3 paper and are clear and concise.

I have noticed that every CAD program I have tried is aimed mainly at engineering, I would be nice if there were more area within CAD programs that deal with cabinet making/planning layouts.

Corel CAD is a program that is not aimed at the novice, once you get the hang of it you can design till your hearts content!

Ikra Flexotrim HS-6055 600W Electric Hedge Trimmer
Ikra Flexotrim HS-6055 600W Electric Hedge Trimmer

4.0 out of 5 stars Powerful and efficient, with a couple of gripes., 6 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
So, bank holiday Monday and the weather is fine time to get out the Ikra Flexotrim HS-6055 600W Electric Hedge Trimmer and give it a whirl.

The hedge to be trimmed today is around 8ft high and 50ft in length, we have tried several different hedge trimmers in the past and the hedge in question has taken many of these trimmers, usually just out of warranty, to an early trip down to the local tip, the last of it's victims being a petrol powered trimmer made by Spear & Jackson where the clutch failed (again just a month out of warranty)and parts were non existent!

This Flexotrim HS-6055 has around 5 metres of orange cable to it, not enough I know, but most of us use an extension lead anyway, it has a fitted 3 pin UK plug unlike the picture!! Remember to use one of these Masterplug ARCDKG Safety RCD Adaptor when plugging into the socket INSIDE the house.

So the first use, I found these trimmers to be powerful, the Ikra's 55cm (21.65inch) blades glide through the hedge with ease and trim areas the other trimmers found difficult, I did find the on/off trigger switch combined with twisting the front handle a little strange at first, this is something to get used to but is a great 'dead mans handle' safety feature, if you let go of the handle the power to the machine cuts out, the machine also cuts out when the trigger is let go. It will not restart until you combine trigger and twist front grip together!! The blades also stop very quickly to prevent accidents too.

The handle on the front of this machine can be tilted through 90 degrees left or right from the centre of the machine, again a very welcome and useful feature on a hedge trimmer.

This machine is not overly noisy, on a par with most electric hedge trimmers, the weight is acceptable and slightly heavier than other electric machines we have owned, however this extra weight can mean better quality.

The machine comes with a blade guard that simple slips on, and has a hand guard on the body of the machine near the handle which also tilts with the handle.

I have only a couple of little niggles with this machine, that's getting used to the handle/power trigger arrangement and the rather short power cable, 10 metres would have been more acceptable.

What I do find refreshing is that this machine is made in Germany !! We all know German engineering can represent quality, this is backed up by a 3 year warranty, again another good sign of quality.

This hedge trimmer is up amongst the best we have tried, it trims effortlessly with power to boot , whether you have a small to medium sized hedge you won't go far wrong the the Ikra Flexotrim HS-6055 600W Electric Hedge Trimmer. Time will tell with this machine, but I don't expect any drama's in the next 3 years of use!

A worthy 4 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars 2 years use and teeth looking good and Pulsonic still going strong., 26 April 2013
Having used many a sonic toothbrush I was always disappointed with either build quality, battery life or cleaning efficiency , I was bought this Oral B Pulsonic slim for my Birthday a couple of years ago now and my teeth have never been so good.

Firstly this toothbrush is very slim and sleek design, unlike it's chunkier rivals but still manages to fit perfectly into the hand.

Once charged up this toothbrush has two cleaning modes, normal and gentle, I use the normal mode and being used to sonic toothbrushes is ideal for me, for those less used to sonic I suggest you use the gentle mode and then try the normal mode to get used to it.

The brush has a built in timer which I find really useful, it allows you to clean your teeth in four sections by breaking up the cleaning with short pause in cleaning program. I clean upper front - upper back - lower front and then lower rear. This brush really does leave your teeth clean and used twice a day helps no end with oral hygiene. I regularly go to my dentist for checkups but since using this brush I am only visiting once a year now for a checkup unlike the every 6 months as before. I will add to this I use mouthwash twice a day too but not straight after brushing, my dentist advised this. I floss once a week.

The charge on the toothbrush lasts about one and a half weeks when used twice a day, just short of the two weeks if your going abroad on holiday, however, the charging base is small and lightweight so there's nothing stopping you taking this with you too, the charging base is also wall mountable.

I have recently had to buy replacement heads for this brush Braun Oral-B SR32-4 Pulsonic Replacement Rechargeable Toothbrush Heads 4-Pack others have complained about the availability of these heads but here on Amazon they are readily available.

A great sonic toothbrush that has lasted, unlike some of it's rivals that have either fell to peices, battery failed or heads no longer available, this brush really works and leaves your teeth feeling fantastic, ditch that old manual toothbrush today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't be easier, SATA use only., 26 April 2013

I purchased a 750gb SATA 2.5" HDD 750GB Seagate Momentus SATA 2.5-inch laptop hard drive (7200rpm, 16MB cache)as I was going to replace the 320gb drive in my laptop, but after experiencing unexpected problems with windows when installing the 750gb drive I abandoned the idea for some time.

My laptop was being filled with music and photos, hence the need to replace it, so decide to purchase this enclosure so I could use the spare 750gb HDD.

The HDD couldn't be easier to fit, simply unclip the case and insert the drive into the circuit board connector, yes the HDD is a snug fit but that's fine with me, push the case back together and away you go, simple plug and play(windows 7)and you have a portable USB powered HDD. I have encountered no problem powering this drive even though it is 7200rpm.

Quality of this enclosure looks fine for the cost and it looks fairly smart, slim and easily slips into the pocket, the supplied pouch is just about OK.

This enclosure has a bright red LED to show power and data operation.

There is no shock protection in the enclosure, so drop at your peril.

For the price paid this case is fine and allows you to use any spare 2.5" SATA HDDs you may have around easily and quickly.

REMEMBER THIS IS JUST A 2.5" SATA HDD ENCLOSURE ONLY, for those who thought this was a HDD, don't be silly, really, for this price!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning intro DSLR at a good price., 24 April 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
Pentax have aimed this DSLR at the newcomer in this area, but rest assured professional results are obtainable from this camera.

Comparing the K30 body to it's bigger brother, the K-5 II it is around a 3rd smaller in physical size and a little lighter in weight, there are a few less buttons than the K-5 II but it not a detriment to the functions offered by this camera. The body fits very nicely into the hand and its rubberised hand grip makes for a sturdy grip.

I charged the supplied battery up and then found a spare SD card I had laying around and booted the camera up, usual setting are required on start-up(time/date/timezone), the menus are great - clear and concise and very user friendly.

On the weekend of receiving this camera we went to the touring car championships at Donington park, so this was the ideal chance to put the K30 through it's paces, I took around 550 shots with the K30 and the battery was near empty, not bad at all really, also you can use AA type batteries(with adapterHahnel AA Battery Holder for Pentax K-r/K-30 DSLR Cameras) in this camera as well, I think this is a great idea but will cost extra, a second battery would probably be a better and cheaper option.Maxsima - Battery for Pentax, K30, K-30, K-R, KR, K2, K-2, D-Li109, DI109. 1154mAh- fully compatible.

I was using a Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 Macro DG Lens For Pentax Digital & Film SLR Cameras for most of the shooting I did at Donington and I have been astonished with the results, even in auto mode results are crisp and clear with vibrant colours, playing around in program mode (P) yet again produces stunning results, seeing as cars were passing at 100mph+ I was even more impressed, focusing is lightening quick and shutter lag in none existent, continuous shooting is around 6/7 frames a second , the low light capability of the K30 is excellent with an ISO range of 100-12500 in normal user mode, this can be extended to 25600 in manual modes. The K30 is simple to use and unlike it's bigger brother, the K-5 MKII would be less daunting to a novice.

I have uploaded a few of the photos taken at the Donington meet, Sunday was sunny/overcast with a little rain in the afternoon, I'll let the photo's speak for themselves!!

The K30 has a number of scene settings, these are automatically selected according to photo you are taking, but these can be selected by the user in SCN (scene) mode, other modes include program, user 1, user 2, Bulb, full manual, Tav(shutter & aperture priority), Av(aperture priority), Tv (shutter priority), Sv(sensitivity priority) and a full HD video mode, although this will eat your memory card up in no time and sound is in mono.

Build quality of the K30 looks OK, but one thing that I would criticise is the battery compartment cover, this is a simple push latch that could easily be caught and result in the battery compartment coming open, I much prefer the twist and lock type closure. The body on the K30 is water resistant, a great feature for shooting outdoors but remember the supplied lens is NOT water tight.

The K30 comes with a Pentax 18-55mm DAL lens, adequate for beginners and produces quality images, I would recommend a longer lens for outdoor/wildlife/sport shots(see lens above).

Supplied in the box.
Pentax K30 body.
Pentax 18-55mm DAL lens

Software CD
User Manual CD
Full instruction book (very welcome)

If you want quality photo's then the K30 is a winner, for a beginner it will be a pleasure to use, excellent ease of use (even if you just use point and shoot mode) delve deeper and the Pentax K-30 is a great photographers tool and will be a welcome addition in anyone's kit bag.

5.0 out of 5 stars Our cats on her second one!!, 16 April 2013

Excellent scratching post this, it is around 2ft tall which is a good height and has a fairly large base to prevent it toppling over when in use.

Our cat is an indoor cat so needs something to scratch on, she has a couple of smaller posts but prefers this one, so much so she has worn her first one out!!

This post is well made and is strong once assembled, I always check for any sharp points before letting our moggie loose on it.

Good price as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent DAC/Headphone amp, 16 April 2013
Amazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I got this FiiO E17 to use as DAC with my laptop which has a poor internal soundcard.

This DAC/headphone amp is very nicely finished with a black satin aluminum finish and a OLED display. The E17 is about the size of you average mobile phone.

I plugged this unit into my laptop via the supplied USB lead and it was immediately recognised and drivers where loaded by Windows 7.

Sound quality of this unit is simply fantastic using my Sennheiser Momentums, rich with perfect detail and plenty of volume if needed, The OLED display is just right and displays all the essential information like volume, decoder rate and battery level, there is also a menu that has bass/treble/balance setting, an option to disable/enable USB charging and gain settings (0db, +6db(default)& +12db.

The FiiO E17 is not only a stand alone DAC but also an headphone amp that can be used with any MP3 player (or anything with a headphone output) simply connect to the 3.5mm input socket.

This DAC can also be connected via a toslink cable to any optical output(CD/DVD player etc) with the supplied adapters.

The E17 come with a storage bag and all cables you need to get you going, there is also a couple of bands so you can strap the DAC to you MP3 player or phone, you also get some small stick on non-slip feet.

For the price the E17 is fantastic, for anyone using a laptop for listening to music it is a must have, its simple and easy to use and looks great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing quality in both sound and build., 1 April 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
You know that feeling when something comes nicely packaged like these Sennheiser Momentum headphones, you start thinking I hope the product inside lives up to it, well these headphones do just that.

When you unpack these headphones you realise the effort that Sennheiser has put into them, they ooze quality, from the beautifully finished headband to the very soft and supple leather ear pads, there is no fault to be found. Sennheiser have supplied these headphones with two cables, one has a volume/function control on the cable for Apple/Android devices, the other is a straight through cable for any other device, these cables lock into the headphones to prevent unwanted disconnection due to the cable being accidentally pulled, both cable are an eye catching red in colour this also matches the stitching found on the headphones.

When you put these headphone on for the first time it is amazing how much outside noise is cancelled out without any music playing, the comfort is fantastic and not at all fatiguing, they are also fairly light.

The sound quality of these headphones is simply breath taking, listening to Pink Floyds' Dark Side Of The Moon(2012 remaster) using my Creative Zen X-Fi2 and Fiio F11 headphone amp(soon to be replace by an E17 DAC) I was stunned at the clarity, I heard things on these headphones I had never heard before on this recording. Bass is tight and clean but also has lots of power, mids are very clear with vocals being superb, treble is sweet without being harsh. I put these Momentums to a more demanding test by playing some Black Country Communion - Afterglow and again they proved to me that they are top notch with any kind of music thrown at them, they have great musical quality with attack and clarity.

The Momentums come with a hard case to keep them safe and taking away with you, again even this case is superbly finished, within the case is a storage case for the extra cable and a supplied 3.5mm to 6.25mm adaptor.

Downsides, I can't find any.

Sennheiser have come up with a pair of headphones that finally live upto to claims on the packing.

A superb 5 stars.
