5.0 out of 5 stars Yeti in the underground., 24 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Shame episode 3 is still missing from the BBC archives but still an enjoyable story to watch the dark surroundings of the underground sets are very well made even fooled the real underground company as the BBC did ask the London Underground if they could do some location work in the real tunnels but we're refused on the grounds of health and safety. I don't even care that there are no extras as I have five new episodes of Dr Who to add to my collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars there cybermen, 18 Aug 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This story contains two iconic moments in Doctor Who's 50 year history, The first is the first appearance of the Cybermen created by Dr Kitt pedler to rival the Daleks in popularity and did it well as they appear in several stories from the 1st doctor to the 11th Doctor. The second is that it is the first Doctor Who story to feature the Doctor Regenerating as William Hartnell had to retire due to being very ill(his last final appearance as the 1st Doctor is the 10th anniversary story the Three Doctors). The Doctor Who team came up with the idea that the Doctor could change his appearance and the show could continue. I first saw this story when it was released on VHS video and sadly the final episode doesn't exist in the BBC archives but the regeneration scene does thanks to Blue Peter and I cannot wait to see the animated 4th episode.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Ice Warrior cometh, 29 May 2013

One of the early Patrick Troughton stories to get the Animated missing episodes treatment, The first appearance of the Martian Warriors featuring a good guest cast from Bernard Bresslaw more famous for the Carry on Film series and also Peter Sallis more well known to play Clegg in Last of the Summer Wine the VHS release was good but with the new animated episodes I cannot wait to watch it. sadly they have not included the found episode from the story The Underwater Menace.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Pepper pots from hell invade Earth, 25 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The second of the Peter Cushing Films based on the T.V. story of the same name but this Dalek Invasion of Earth is set in the year 2150 A.D. where the William Hartnell story was set in 2164 A.D. The classic retelling of the Dalek's invasion of Earth running close to the script of the TV episodes for example the Doctor and Tom trying to make their escape to the river only to find a Dalek coming out of the river. Sadly it didn't have the seen where the Doctors companion that was with the rebels running through the streets of a deserted London with Daleks moving across the likes of Westminster Bridge or outside other iconic London landmarks and monuments to get to the London transport museum but I feel that the ending was better than the TV version OK the film version had a bigger budget than the TV series. This is the first Doctor Who that Bernard Cribbins did before he got the role as Donna Noble's Grandfather Wilf. There was to be a third movie in the film series based on the third T.V Dalek story The Chase but sadly never got made. Would have liked to have seen more Extras like a making of involving cast and crew that are still with us talking about the film.

5.0 out of 5 stars The forgotten Doctor, 23 May 2013

Peter Cushing the first actor to play the Doctor in colour and the only Actor to have two cinema movies based on the TV series bigger budget than the TV series itself the Daleks must have looked impressive on the big screen for the first time.

Prisoner Cell Block H is one of the best Dramas to ever come out of Australia I have got all the DVDs so far. even fun seeing which Cell Block H actress/actor who is or was in Neighbours and Home and Away. Even noticed that two of the actors have been in the British long running Si-Fi series Doctor Who. one is John Lee plays the Thal Alydon in the first Dalek story who plays the Mr Raynolds the owner of a factory in earlier episodes of Prisoner and the other is Louise Pajo who plays Gia Kelly in the second doctor story the Seeds of Death plays Helen Masters in earlier episodes of Prisoner.
