Good for the serious photographer, 17 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
This book is definitely best for the serious photographer who wants to take pet portraits as a business. It would also be good for a keen hobbyist but although the book suggests that it would be good for a pet owner wanting to improve photos of their pet , I think that it would be of more benefit if you already have a good knowledge of your camera and photography. Not for the beginner in other words. The chapters are well organised, and it is fairly easy to find the topic you want to cover, but I would suggest that the information about the pet portrait market perhaps is not so relevant in the UK as in the US where the book is from. The market here and amount that people want to spend money on their pet photography is nowhere near that of the US, so bear that in mind when purchasing the book. There is lots of good advice on how to prepare for your shoots and advice about equipment as well as taking shots, so very useful to those wanting to do this seriously.

Decent enough, 16 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
Used by my daughter - Have used to a cheapie epilator in the past and it hurt quite a lot! Whereas the first time I used this one it wasn't as painful as previous experience. Which is good! The fact it has 42 tweezers means that it gets rid of most of the hairs first time. And also the fact its curved means that it follows the shape of your body as opposed to just going in awkward positions to try and get all the hairs off in one go. The one issue I have with this though is the fact its wired and you're restricted to using it only near a plug which can be a bit annoying. Apart from that I can't find much issues with it, it does what it says! And thats good enough.

An excellent product, 15 May 2013
Don't want to go into much detail, suffice to say that this product worked for my wife very well. Doctors should recommend it.

Lovely pot...perfect for orchids, 15 May 2013
This was a very reasonably priced pot and is nice quality and very attractive. Lets enough light in for my orchid to thrive. All in all a very good purchase.

A sticky business, 15 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
Having had professional leg waxes in the past I would say this doesn't really compare. It works quite well if your hair is long, but at the shorter hair length that they suggest, it didn't really work. The wipes are quite effective for removing the sticky residue, but all in all it is quite a fiddly business. It suggests about 20 minutes warm up time but in reality it took about 45 minutes for the wax to be warm enough to roll relatively smoothly, but not as smoothly as it sounds like it is going to do in the leaflet. At a pinch I would use this again, but will need to wait for hair to be long enough. Expensive refills too.

Quite pleasant, 15 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
I may have been spoiled by too many Maple flavoured syrups in the past but I have to say that the flavour of this one was very light. It is a very runny syrup, not really syrupy at all but then maybe all maple syrups are like this? It was nice on pancakes and ice cream, but added sweetness rather than flavour. Not sure I would buy this product.

Fabulous, 7 May 2013
You might think it's hard to get excited about a pair of gardening gloves. You'd be wrong. Before these, I hated using gloves for gardening. They were cumbersome and I lost any feel I had for delicate weeding. This year my hands were getting shredded. They were dry, cracked and more cuts than I can ever remember. Even intensive moisturizing did not help. In desperation I went in search of pair of gloves and found these. Not only do they give me enough feel to do delicate weeding, the rubberised surface gives superb protection against thorns, brambles and the like. Even vicious rose thorns can be handled with a bit of care. The best £6 I have invested in the garden. Now you can see why a pair of gloves has got me excited! Highly recommended for any gardening job! Town & Country Large Master Gardener Classic Gardening Gloves

Blisteringly good, 6 May 2013
This is my first real 'smartphone'and I am mega impressed. I did my research, and without wanting to pay the exhorbitant fees that Apple and now Samsung are asking, this came up as a real value top end phone. The screen is 4.6 inches and is gorgeous. The picture and video quality are amazing. 16mb of memory is not enormous, but can be upgraded to 32mb, which is fairly standard. From box to getting going only took 30mins to allow the battery to charge. The phone, whilst different from my previous Nokia, is dead easy to set up and get going with. It comes with the usual standard browser, but a visit to the Google store (preinstalled app) and all your favourite browsers are there. The thing that impresses me most, is the ability to use the phone a wi-fi centre and tether it to laptops, pc's and tablets. We live in an area that supposedly gets no signal from the phone company that comes between 2 and 4. However, we are getting, what for us, is blisteringly fast internet. We only struggle with HD, whereas before watching ordinary films was a struggle. If you live in a broadband blackspot like us, this may be the answer you have been looking for. Admittedly, it's 3's top package, the one plan, but it comes with unlimited internet, and they are the only company doing this so far. BTW, you can also make phone calls and text! Brilliant phone. Cracker, 29 April 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme (What's this?)
This is one of the best gardening books I've read in ages. Full of no nonsense practical advice on growing almost every type of fruit and veg you can imagine in a pot. Truly inspiration. After about 10 minutes reading I was itching to get out and grow myself something. If you have no garden, a small garden or a patio, this book will inspire you try something. Not all the plants can be grown every where. Peaches and lemons are bit too exotic for us in the Northern climes, but I'm going to try an apple and maybe even an olive. Mr. Titchmarsh may disagree, but apparently, even raspberries can be grown in a pot! I'm definitely going to try sweet potatoes. Just so much to try and all at your back or front door! Buy the book and get out and grow something. Brilliant! RHS Grow Your Own Crops in Pots: with 30 Step-by-Step Projects Using Vegetables, Fruit and Herbs

Third in the series, still a very good read but..., 27 April 2013
I have to admit, I'm getting a bit tired of cursed this and that. This is the third in the series. The first was about a cursed piece of the true cross, the second a cursed sword, and in this story, it's a monastery that is cursed. The stories that make up the book are all by separate authors writing about their characters in different time periods, and are very impressive (hence 5 stars). Indeed I have been introduced to Susanna Gregory's Thomas Chaloner, who debuts impressively in the last story. So if you don't mind the fact that each book is based on a cursed object of some description, I recommend the series to you. I might give the next in the series, 'The Lost prophecies' a go, but as you might have gathered my enthusiasm for the series is waining! House of Shadows (Historical Mystery Series)
