My best camera yet !, 28 Nov. 2012
I have had quite a few cameras both film and digital and this is certainly the best yet. I am still getting used to a zoom range of 24 to 700mm (35mm equiv) which means you never have to think about changing lenses. The manual zoom is so much better than the powered zoom on most other bridge cameras; much faster and more precise. The manual focus ring is also really easy to use once you have worked out that the default manual focussing mode magnifies the centre of the image while focussing. I read some reviews that complain about the low light performance but I was amazed at the pictures it produced in what I would have described as complete darkness. Basically if you can see it you can photograph it and produce good results. I was worried that it would be a bit heavy but it doesn't seem so in use and is very comfortable to hold and use. I think that the manual zoom helps since you naturally hold the lens and the shutter release side of the camera and don't have to keep fiddling with a powered zoom switch.
There are so many features that it'll take a while to try them all out but the auto panorama works a treat and full HD in this price range is amazing. I haven't tried out the 320fps mode yet or the ability to do auto bracketing on 3 different 'film types'. The manual is pretty comprehensive but I'm much more impressed with the short description that is displayed in the camera when you select a mode.
This is a brilliant camera and at an amazing price.
