5.0 out of 5 stars A lost nugget, 26 April 2009
This review is from: Apollo Saturday Night (Audio CD)
Original issued by Atco in I think 1964-65 and recorded truly live at The famous Apollo in New York. It is a brilliant show that show the sharped edge soul that later would have a break-trhrough in later years of 1960's.
Esp. interesting is the early Otis Redding tracks that lifts the show to a higher sphere.
Were hard to find on vinyl and happily at last have got is rightly deserved issue on CD. Buy, enjoy and cherish this piece of truly great american soul-music.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST MOD ALBUM BESIDES MY GENERATION, 7 Feb. 2005
This review is from: Small Faces (Audio CD)
A brilliant, vibrating album. On CD it's even better when you don't have to listen to Deccas inbuilt mumble as on vinyl. Great and a classic mod album It has everyting; the sound, the attitude and the force. That is in common with the Whos 1st album My Generation. A truly classic- don't miss it

5.0 out of 5 stars Will the real Sonny Boy Williamson II stand up, please, 10 July 2004
This review is from: Keep It to Ourselves (Audio CD)
Everyone with the slightest intrest in the Chicago blues have of course heard Sonny Boy Willliamson. Both the first one that died violent in 1948 and the second one - Rice Miller.
Almost everything have heard has been with backing by the Yardbirds or The Animals or the recordings on the Chess label from the 50 and early 60's.
Few have heard the country bluesman that appears on these recording from denamrk in 1963.
Stunning recording that i remeber very well from a few danish LPs on the Storyville label. hard to find at the time a bit earier in late 60 and now again not many stock them.
If you want to hear and enjoy the poet and countrybluesman buy this cd it's brilliant and contains some prev. unissued tracks too!
