5.0 out of 5 stars Modern Horror thriller classic., 16 Sept. 2015
Top top film. Hauting and emulated central villian, young rookie mysterious plot. Whats not to like? Spawned many like it but none as good. Hannibal therafter developed his own fan base and a series.... whats more to say. One of my absolute favourites.

Having your friends over for dinner will never carry the same meaning ever again!

4.0 out of 5 stars Awful download and installation time... but very decent return to form for GT., 16 Sept. 2015
This review is from: Gran Turismo 6 (PS3) (Video Game)
Haven't had a chance to play it yet - not because I haven't had time but because of the auful installation issues. Should really be giving this one star. The download time on my decent speed broadband is awful (it's been at it for about 8 hours now, because of constant crashing during updates). The last game installation was long, but this takes the biscuit.

No idea why its crashing, I have decent a decent PS3, broadband and other games are just fine. Beware! I'm about to lose patience with this and just play GT5 instead.

Yeah! Its fnally installed. So I can update the above with the following

+ Excellent graphics
+ return to license based progression
+ plays like GT of old, miles better than GT5 and decent online and seasonal content.
+ nice recommended car section for what you could buy to get on in the various FR FF etc... catagories.
- Intro is quite dodgy and prolonged. GT has it over this one.
- Not entirely clear at best of times in terms of upgrading your car and accidently going bringing it 'over' the rating system.

All in all though I love it, this is what GT5 should have done and if it had I wouldn't have went for GT6. Its gets away with being a 'new' game that harks back to its roots really, but with improved graphics etc and a VAST selection of cars some of which are a fortune.

7 will be worth a look now when I get a PS4.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent - a basic guide to 3.0 in a nutshell. This is cool!, 13 Sept. 2015
If you're new to infinity or the kids the basic premise is:
Playing with game disc and base, place charatures into base and transport them into the game. Different sets (usually with two game models come with a 'playset' piece allowing you to play that series of levels in the game. A feature not needing a gamepiece to play is a decent 'build your own level' thing called toybox. Any characture works in this, including ones from previous infinity games (with some extra purchases needed to allow full functionality). 1.0 and 2.0 were really good but this tops it because:
- facility to intergrate 1.0 and 2.0 charactures into game
- star wars play pieces seem to work across all the planned and present star wars game playsets.
- better racing and vehilce modes within the game (x wings go-karts etc...)

My 7 and 5 year olds LOVE this. But be prepared to pay out 10 for that chewy and darth pieces.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the size you're looking for..., 13 Sept. 2015
This review is from: Bop It R2-D2 Game (Toy)
Careful if you're ordering online its only about 15cm in height. Cool features but would like it bigger and more action functions (only has twist, pull, bop) but sound clips of C3PO and R2D2 are cool. Well put together quite robust, but almost pocket size!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great bit of fun!, 18 Aug. 2015
This review is from: Just Cause 2 (PS3) (Video Game)
Arrived at the party abit late... It's been out for a few years but read it was good and for 5 can you go wrong?

No- not really. It is great fun. Looking it's age in the cut scenes they're not a patch on MW3 and COD Ghosts etc... But for the age, fine.

As far as out and out action is concerned it can't be beaten. Cars, explosions, parachutes, grappling hooks - you deploy various fun ways of creating 'havoc $$$' in game points.

The game doesn't feel the need to swear to impress either. Quite into playing this, it's pure shooting fun. Controls are decent- plays abit like I would like to see arkham city series of games play. If only.

4.0 out of 5 stars More immersive than COD ghosts..., 14 Aug. 2015
This review is from: Battlefield 4 (PS4) (Video Game)
Based on ghosts, I found playing the campaign of this better. It's got a decent story / set pieces and the ability to drive the odd vehicle lying about.

What I liked about the campaign is when you were engaging the enemy you tend to do it from distance waiting until they break cover. They seem more initiative than COD battles more ranged and requiring you to get cover faster, with enviroments being blow away around you.

Graphics are nice, about as nice as COD but it tries to do more with the enviroment and graphical stunts. So far only a but through and enjoyable so far... More so than COD. Still think I'll COD for multiplayer.

Didn't like the way it's crashed a couple if times mid level loading... Heard that so glad it was cheap. Would have got 5 stars except for that.

Decent though enjoying it a lot as I was a COD player before would consider this series now too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another winning lego film title with JW and JP value., 25 July 2015
An absolute winner with the kids containing three of their current favourite things - Jurassic Park/World, Dinosaurs of any variety and Lego. What's not to like here. Even if the game wasn't any good it would hold masses of excitement. Lucky enough it is good.

Shelling out 30-40 on a lego game each time (Star Wars, Indiana, Harry Potter) seems excessive and its good to always get a bit of value. We only bought into Star Wars when the compilation one came out and this is of similar style you get both Jurassic World and Jurassic Park adventures in here. Also spans across JP movies one to three, so there's abit of gameplay time here.

Played it abit myself but my 5 and 7 year old have completely loved it. They're both dinosaur mad and love collecting the studs and dinosaur DNA during the levels. Also playing as all the movie characters and dinosaurs themselves is a winner. A definite 5 stars with few flaws and plenty of value.

+ features JP and JW sections of the game (value here) and all key scenes from each movie.
+ play as characters from both films and dinosaurs
+ controls simple to understand (especially if you've played other version of lego movie games)
+ movie style cartoon sequences are well done audio taken directly from the films

- format is much the same as other lego games, I guess when it works why change it but Lego could do with revamping the style of their games and playable format.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short & simple enough to keep them interested. Ideal for 5 - 10 year olds., 25 Jun. 2015
This review is from: Monopoly Junior Board Game (Toy)
Game time with 2 players, my 5 year old and I was only 20 minutes. This is short I know, but for me it was idea for him. The game could have lasted longer if things panned out differently.

He loved the game pieces themselves (really well detailed little solid rubber items) and the money was simplified to $1 notes, Purchase 'locations' for specified amount, if someone lands on them they pay the same to the owner. Double if set (2 colours instead of normal monopoly 3).

Chance cards in use, only one set making it easy. The only thing I would change about this is instead of the cardboard markers (which work well all the same) I would have liked to see the little plastic houses in use. Minor complaint though, this will be well used until they get onto the older kids version.

4.0 out of 5 stars Prepare yourself for a further purchase., 24 May 2015
Slim, top loading (taking away potential tray drive motor issues) and unimposing I bought mine about 2 years ago and it's been a faithful servant. Abused by the kids alongdide myself it's held up ok. Theres a vast library of past releases as well as latest ones that seem to still get PS3 launch alongdide PS4. Two front USBs.

One thing you will need to do is upgrade your Hard disc immediately more or less. 12gb seems ok to get by, but the operating system appears to take 4gb straight off and the likes of the grand turismo games (using 5 as example) another 6gb. Given the kids wanted disney infinity that was 4gb I didn't have. Had to put the brakes on GT!

Issue quickly rectified with 120gb HD and mount bracket for less than 15, wish I'd done it when I bought it.

All found, still has released content and if you're bit into 2015s latest graphics you could do a lot worse.
