Hotel Tycoon Board Game
Hotel Tycoon Board Game
Price: £13.21

4.0 out of 5 stars Bit of a hastle to get started, but decent, 6 Feb. 2016
This review is from: Hotel Tycoon Board Game (Toy)
Similar concept to monopoly but more advanced in terms of buying land deeds, planning and then putting up buildings and landscaping as final development.

Theres alot of setup to this, hotels need built but will be alot better on the second play now its all done.

A decent alternative to monopoly but the board gets a bit cluttered at end of the game. Don't attempt to play this with kids under 7 or so... They'll loose interest too quick.

Takes 1-2 hrs with 3 players approximately.

4 out of 5 as the instructions aren't the clearest and the board could have used indentations to hold the hotel entrances to stop them flying about when the kids mived their play tokens about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Instant, simple, stunning Gen 1 fun., 9 Jan. 2016
Not going to bang on forever, except to say this is the best transformers game. Period.
+ its styled like gen1!
+ fun and uncomplicated
+ graphics and sounds fantastic
+ simple weapons select, use and upgrade system

- mostly linear levels

Its retro, stunning, sounds fantastic and kids can pick it up pretty easily.

My son, after seeing the michael bay films, seeing megatron for the first time said 'thats not what megatron looks like'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping science survival film - Brilliant., 20 Dec. 2015
This review is from: The Martian (Amazon Video)
Astronaut stranded on mars is the idea, left behind by mistake by his team feared for dead. with the rescue mission years away, there is not enough food and resources to survive the duration...

Really enjoyed this. 2hrs long, or thereabouts, but the whole time i was kept watching as a break through was made or a system developed to get the central character, Mark (Matt Damon) off the planet.

The idea is basic like many other 'stranded' style films, small break throughs of survival, development of skills - without the need for the characture to go insane. Nasa training I guess.

Stunning, well made space survival that only goes over the top at the end, without spoiling things, it's a bit of a risky finale!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good..., 19 Dec. 2015
This seems to be getting hammered on the reviews but my 7 and 5 year olds who are into clone wars think its good. Its got some platform bits that seem annoying but in general they like it. Had a shot myself and it was good enough.

Accurate charactures and voices from the show too and you play as a few different ones while going through it. its like jedi power battles (ps1) but brought to the clone wars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Black gloss spray paint costs £ 4.99..., 7 Nov. 2015
Had to sing Wonderwall outside a tube station for 5,000 hours but eventually managed to raise the funds to get this. I was so excited i couldn't speak. Actually couldn't speak anymore anyway.

When it arrived imagine my surprise when i found out it was just a PS4 tarted up in an old dull grey, like a 90s portable tv. Didn't like this and Painted over it in gloss black looks far better.

Someones had the same idea and i've seen quite a few black ones since now. They're alot cheaper than mine tho' and the box you keep instead of this one that i just threw in the bin when mine arrived.

5.0 out of 5 stars Open world MGS ..., 7 Nov. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Mgs games are always big his with me. The PS1 ' SOLID ' was excellent and the others just as good.

This game offers the biggest departure in the series into the open world and ' Base building ' concepts. I always thought mgs was abit too linear sometimes but this places you into the vastness of the Afghanistan desert and lets you plan your own way to the missions target.

The radars away that let you track enemies making binocular ' tagging ' essential. You can choose if you want to go ' gung ho' or stealth. The latter option affords you the opportunity to base build by knocking out and kidnapping enemies (another new feature is they go to your base where you give them 'tasks').

The story around all this is good, ludicrously far fetched charactures as usual and will definately contain a few twists.

So far, opening the section where you can choose which mission you complete this is brilliant. Theres a ton to do, kidnap a translator, interrogate, helicopter assault bases, online multiplayer its got so much more than mgs of old.

Fans have this already and love it. If you're new to the concept this will make for a great introduction - but ultimately you'll want the others to play with the same freedom and ideas as this. Love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Modern Horror thriller classic., 16 Sept. 2015
Top top film. Hauting and emulated central villian, young rookie mysterious plot. Whats not to like? Spawned many like it but none as good. Hannibal therafter developed his own fan base and a series.... whats more to say. One of my absolute favourites.

Having your friends over for dinner will never carry the same meaning ever again!

4.0 out of 5 stars Awful download and installation time... but very decent return to form for GT., 16 Sept. 2015
This review is from: Gran Turismo 6 (PS3) (Video Game)
Haven't had a chance to play it yet - not because I haven't had time but because of the auful installation issues. Should really be giving this one star. The download time on my decent speed broadband is awful (it's been at it for about 8 hours now, because of constant crashing during updates). The last game installation was long, but this takes the biscuit.

No idea why its crashing, I have decent a decent PS3, broadband and other games are just fine. Beware! I'm about to lose patience with this and just play GT5 instead.

Yeah! Its fnally installed. So I can update the above with the following

+ Excellent graphics
+ return to license based progression
+ plays like GT of old, miles better than GT5 and decent online and seasonal content.
+ nice recommended car section for what you could buy to get on in the various FR FF etc... catagories.
- Intro is quite dodgy and prolonged. GT has it over this one.
- Not entirely clear at best of times in terms of upgrading your car and accidently going bringing it 'over' the rating system.

All in all though I love it, this is what GT5 should have done and if it had I wouldn't have went for GT6. Its gets away with being a 'new' game that harks back to its roots really, but with improved graphics etc and a VAST selection of cars some of which are a fortune.

7 will be worth a look now when I get a PS4.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent - a basic guide to 3.0 in a nutshell. This is cool!, 13 Sept. 2015
If you're new to infinity or the kids the basic premise is:
Playing with game disc and base, place charatures into base and transport them into the game. Different sets (usually with two game models come with a 'playset' piece allowing you to play that series of levels in the game. A feature not needing a gamepiece to play is a decent 'build your own level' thing called toybox. Any characture works in this, including ones from previous infinity games (with some extra purchases needed to allow full functionality). 1.0 and 2.0 were really good but this tops it because:
- facility to intergrate 1.0 and 2.0 charactures into game
- star wars play pieces seem to work across all the planned and present star wars game playsets.
- better racing and vehilce modes within the game (x wings go-karts etc...)

My 7 and 5 year olds LOVE this. But be prepared to pay out £10 for that chewy and darth pieces.
