3.0 out of 5 stars Pricey, well thought out and made retro toy., 7 Nov 2014
Decent little simple gadget, but can be pricey considering you're buying a cardboard box and glass lens.

It's a very well designed cardboard box and looks the part, retro themed around the simple concept.

Takes around 20mins, faster if you're confident enough to use superglue straight away, to put together. Simple as it comes to assemble-you won't get this wrong a kid could do it.

A kid it's good for though once made. Don't consider this anything but a gimmicky toy. Solving your viewing problems in HD this does not. It's not a huge projection and you'll have to have a pitch black room and plain bright surface to get best results once built.

Screen to bright, phone orientation flipped upside down you'll still find the lack of horizontal invert frustrating, if using iphone, during text on videos.

My kids just used this to watch ice age 4 in my bedroom, they thought the idea was good, cinema esque. They wanted popcorn and to watch for longer. That's when I got the concept of this - a gimmick, pleasure giving, 'let's play cinema' play item. And decent job it does of that.

Good for half an hour of messing about with once in a while. Any longer, or trying to watch seriously this will frustrate.

It's a fantastically simple, well crafted box, a throw back to when cameras were non digital, flickbooks were entertainment and things were simple to use.

+ well build, nice to look at retro feel. Simple to assemble and just about scrapes over the line for actual functionality.

- frustrating to get pictures sharp, image dim even when phone set to bright, image inverts horizontally with no app giving obvious fix, phone can fall down from 'sticky' back holding panel (material elastic would have been a better solution).

Not a viewing alternative to Apple TV etc.,, but a fun toy. A fantastic gift, though pricey at current money given what you'll actually end up holding is a solid enough sliding cardboard box. That you stuck together.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kids love this, I do too! Great concept., 20 July 2014
My 6 year old loves it, compatible with all figured from previous versions. Figures get new powers keeping you interested and level and charactures are quirky. Good the way my boys play with the little models away from the game itself.

This has took gaming to a different level, not surprised it's won so many awards. I enjoyed playing this alongside him and earning upgrades amongst the hours of play.

The whole kit cost £20 but you'll get sucked into buying more. There's value in it tho' the swap force is a good concept, giving extend play, but look out for old spiros adventures charactures that you can pick up for next to nothing.

Great game, look out for the new version shortly. Which I think we'll be buying.

3.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for... A dated conversion., 20 July 2014
You get what you pay for... A dated conversion. I bought this for £2 new (July '14) and I know it's been out for ages, and slated meantime. For that money I could use it as a coaster and not feel I was hard done by, so well - I'm a fan, give it a go.

Have to say for £40 on release this would have been given 1 star. It is quite tense at times if you switch between motion detector, but soon turns into a guns out blast which was rarely seen in the films.

It's going to be hard to make a game to do this all justice and to keep the average shooter player engaged.

On release this was running a dated graphic engine, and dated motion capture and COD controls, so it was already on the back foot. I found it tricky enough on soldier setting - mostly because of the way the weapons reload and aim , stilted at best. Aliens should be a menace and to not stick around to get shot up.

All in all, for the money you spend now - this is ok. Just ok and doesn't do the license proper justice. But I don't think a game will - not like the films. At the end of the day it's a shooter, a realistic game would have you fighting just to survive you being the prey. Give it a go, but be prepared to get bored fairly quickly.

4.0 out of 5 stars A soft one piece, for the money - excellent., 14 Jun 2014
I bought these 'Skreamers' not knowing too much about warrior as a boot or trainer manufacturer, on receiving them I have to say for the money (I paid the lower end of the pricing on here) I wasn't that dissapointed on what you get for your money.

They are a one piece synthetic material and a sole, with a bold design. Being a one piece, there's no stitching issues to worry about as long as the sole holds the shoe well over time. Size wise, my tens were on the money.

For the design, theres a few on offer, the bold being the order of the day. As a liverpool fan Warrior have received some mixed reviews for their away shirts and quality wise they've been alright. Same for these, they're good and about there money as long as you've not paid over about £20.

There's more on the market that would provide more support to your foot, but then thats the price you pay for lightweight shoes, so injury wise you'll need to watch yourself, marked a star off them as you can feel the stud top surface in your soles too - abit. Probably sort that out down the line after a few run outs.

Very very decent for the cash, so I bought the 'Skreamer' all weather pitch too.

Staywell Clockwork Pet Feeder
Staywell Clockwork Pet Feeder

4.0 out of 5 stars Tee time for tiddles., 11 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Yes, holiday time has come again and there's no one around to feed the cat. Well not for three days or so anyway. Which is good, cause it's a long weekend cat feeder that just been posted from Amazon.

As long as you're cat isn't a hungry 5 feeds a day tiger like beast, this do the job. I bought this for my mum and she had no complaints returning from her short break to find an alive cat.

Don't fly off for two weeks and leave this thing in charge. (1) The food will go off. (2) It won't ring the vet or attempt to stop your cat when the ravenious beast rips apart your cupboards in dispair during day 4.

Don't know if it works with hamster. Probaby not - it would turn into a timer based prision, surely.

Left off another star as the guy from the cat boarding place will probably turn up and threaten me if I don't. This thing will be making they're lives a 3 day misery!

BT Studio 1100 DECT Cordless Telephone - Silver

3.0 out of 5 stars Had a few issues with it - but it's held up okay., 11 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It constantly used and abused and after about 7 years still going. Strange we've used it that long...few issues to raise being:

- Quiet call volume. A 'mare in a busy house with 3 kids.
- A battery back that slides off if it slips a little in your hand. Doesn't happen alot but annoying when it does.

Would score 4 or 5 stars, bar the main issue being the call volume. Buying a new one hopefully soon and won't go BT this time, a little quiet for my liking.

Whilst you watch these two decent films (the first the superior) you'll appreciate the fantastically intresting world you're entering. Small things like a glitch in the matrix programme makes fabricated 'reality' repeat itself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hardy wee trolley., 11 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Still using this since I bought it from here, I think about 2 years ago. It misses the extra star, as during the winter the design of the wheels and their structure makes them a little stiff to remove and they seem to collect dirt in hard to reach places.

The trolley is largely great in its design, reduced space it takes and its strong construction. This is why I bought it as I wanted something that didn't take up much room and could hold a cart bag (little or large) and do a decent job.

I went 'off roading' in the rough with my last trolley, a dunlop cart. It didn't fair too well, snapping support arms that look like a 5 year old had fabricated them with a broken weilding irom. Not so with this trolley. I've since been cautiously 'rough roading' with this for the whole time I've had it, now without hesitation if it was able to get to France on it with a motor onboard it would do alright.

And for the money, it's a snip. Since seen carts like this in chain shops for about £20-30 more, they all look the same size and construction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't be bother writing a review ..., 11 Jun 2014

... which isn't doing this film justice. ITS BRILLIANT, buy and watch immediately. Do it with all three of the bale ones - back to back - don't stop watching them until you're leaping off your sofa with a dyed black table cloth and making the bat tumbler out of old toilet tubes due to the 8 hours of crazy pleasure you've just experienced.

Can't praise these 'Bale' films enough... the villians, the supporting actors. All immense performances. I'm a converted fan after Clooney and Kilmer made a farce of my Michael Keaton induced childhood enjoyment (1st film only though).

When Affleck hits the cinemas with that dodgy 'Batman V Superman' comedy show or whatever - instead of considering a cinema ticket to that, go straight onto Amazon and get the trilogy of this. You'll inevitably be watching something that has yet to be beaten and looking at whats coming I don't think will be.

Oh damn, I sort of wrote a half review. Nearly.
