4.0 out of 5 stars Really good functions let down slightly..., 18 May 2016
This review is from: Zoomer Dino Boomer (Toy)
This is a really good toy. Features the facility to drive about by joystick style remote or to let it free roam. Whilst in the latter mode, it assumes 'moods' anger, curosity etc... And will spin around and tail whip if annoyed.
+ Good sounds, controls work well
+ 3 aaa batteries for remote and USB charge for dino.
+ dual remote and free roam mode makes it almost pet like.

- Battery life on dino is a little poor. Your 1hr charge gives about 15 - 20 mins of playtime.

Recommended with that in mind though.

Hawkers Classic - Sunglasses, Diamond Black Sky
Hawkers Classic - Sunglasses, Diamond Black Sky

5.0 out of 5 stars New brand, very comfortable., 15 April 2016
New brand established in spain I think, keen to get themselves out there with promo material asking with the glasses in a stylish hardwearing box and thin material sunglasses bag.

They seem light. Almost too light that you'd think of them as cheap... Well they are cheap really at this point. Not saying quality is bad (and fit is good) and i suppose the lightweight design with make for a comfortable wear for a length of time.

Pleased with these would buy again at the same price point. Up and coming brand for up and coming money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game, short to play & a different concept on risk, 24 Feb. 2016
This review is from: Risk Star Wars Edition Game (Toy)
With two fanatic star wars kids, well and a dad as well (i guess) i like normal risk so this was a no - brainer. My kids are 5 and 7 so was hoping the guide of age 10+ on this wasn't accurate.

Thankfully not so, they love it and get it after only one go. Its not like risk at all... Basic premise is there's 3 different board battles going on, fight for death star, luke v darth and shield generator for death star attack.

You'll have noticed that this is not force awakes (as the box features kylo ren) but return of jedi themed.

Its a card based game where you decide which of the above three bits of game to progress to destroy/defend the death star.

Takes half and hour to an hour to play. Worth Notting there's a black edition for about twice the price. In that one you get different quality dice and card deck ( no biggie with me) and models instead of tokens for storm troopers, death, start and imperial star destroyer/millenium falcon.

Twice the price (or sometimes triple depending on the deal) you should not you can get the storm troopers off auction website ( the monopoly ones are exactly the same) and the model ships are done by micro machines for under a quid each. Black edition seems like abit of a expensive option for dice/cards on that basis.

Well worth a go and kids under ten will get this with a bit of a guide by an adult. Not as complex as normal risk but still in depth.

Hotel Tycoon Board Game
Hotel Tycoon Board Game
Price: £15.90

4.0 out of 5 stars Bit of a hastle to get started, but decent, 6 Feb. 2016
This review is from: Hotel Tycoon Board Game (Toy)
Similar concept to monopoly but more advanced in terms of buying land deeds, planning and then putting up buildings and landscaping as final development.

Theres alot of setup to this, hotels need built but will be alot better on the second play now its all done.

A decent alternative to monopoly but the board gets a bit cluttered at end of the game. Don't attempt to play this with kids under 7 or so... They'll loose interest too quick.

Takes 1-2 hrs with 3 players approximately.

4 out of 5 as the instructions aren't the clearest and the board could have used indentations to hold the hotel entrances to stop them flying about when the kids mived their play tokens about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Instant, simple, stunning Gen 1 fun., 9 Jan. 2016
Not going to bang on forever, except to say this is the best transformers game. Period.
+ its styled like gen1!
+ fun and uncomplicated
+ graphics and sounds fantastic
+ simple weapons select, use and upgrade system

- mostly linear levels

Its retro, stunning, sounds fantastic and kids can pick it up pretty easily.

My son, after seeing the michael bay films, seeing megatron for the first time said 'thats not what megatron looks like'.

No. Thats EXACTLY what megatron looks like.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping science survival film - Brilliant., 20 Dec. 2015
This review is from: The Martian (Amazon Video)
Astronaut stranded on mars is the idea, left behind by mistake by his team feared for dead. with the rescue mission years away, there is not enough food and resources to survive the duration...

Really enjoyed this. 2hrs long, or thereabouts, but the whole time i was kept watching as a break through was made or a system developed to get the central character, Mark (Matt Damon) off the planet.

The idea is basic like many other 'stranded' style films, small break throughs of survival, development of skills - without the need for the characture to go insane. Nasa training I guess.

Stunning, well made space survival that only goes over the top at the end, without spoiling things, it's a bit of a risky finale!

Price: £15.60

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good..., 19 Dec. 2015
This seems to be getting hammered on the reviews but my 7 and 5 year olds who are into clone wars think its good. Its got some platform bits that seem annoying but in general they like it. Had a shot myself and it was good enough.

Accurate charactures and voices from the show too and you play as a few different ones while going through it. its like jedi power battles (ps1) but brought to the clone wars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Black gloss spray paint costs £ 4.99..., 7 Nov. 2015
Had to sing Wonderwall outside a tube station for 5,000 hours but eventually managed to raise the funds to get this. I was so excited i couldn't speak. Actually couldn't speak anymore anyway.

When it arrived imagine my surprise when i found out it was just a PS4 tarted up in an old dull grey, like a 90s portable tv. Didn't like this and Painted over it in gloss black looks far better.

Someones had the same idea and i've seen quite a few black ones since now. They're alot cheaper than mine tho' and the box you keep instead of this one that i just threw in the bin when mine arrived.

5.0 out of 5 stars Open world MGS ..., 7 Nov. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Mgs games are always big his with me. The PS1 ' SOLID ' was excellent and the others just as good.

This game offers the biggest departure in the series into the open world and ' Base building ' concepts. I always thought mgs was abit too linear sometimes but this places you into the vastness of the Afghanistan desert and lets you plan your own way to the missions target.

The radars away that let you track enemies making binocular ' tagging ' essential. You can choose if you want to go ' gung ho' or stealth. The latter option affords you the opportunity to base build by knocking out and kidnapping enemies (another new feature is they go to your base where you give them 'tasks').

The story around all this is good, ludicrously far fetched charactures as usual and will definately contain a few twists.

So far, opening the section where you can choose which mission you complete this is brilliant. Theres a ton to do, kidnap a translator, interrogate, helicopter assault bases, online multiplayer its got so much more than mgs of old.

Fans have this already and love it. If you're new to the concept this will make for a great introduction - but ultimately you'll want the others to play with the same freedom and ideas as this. Love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Modern Horror thriller classic., 16 Sept. 2015
Top top film. Hauting and emulated central villian, young rookie mysterious plot. Whats not to like? Spawned many like it but none as good. Hannibal therafter developed his own fan base and a series.... whats more to say. One of my absolute favourites.

Having your friends over for dinner will never carry the same meaning ever again!
