Storyline differs slightly from the book, but still a very enjoyable viewing experience. Actors are great (obviously) and the spirit and the atmosphere of the the setting is almost tangible - I feel as though I have been there.

4.0 out of 5 stars Horse Lover, 11 Jun. 2012

Lovely film. Had seen the stage play which was FANTASTIC, but stage and film should not be compared. Needed to keep reminding myself that it was a 'magical' horse because any real animal would never have survived the barbed wire. Great insight into life in the trenches and the complete futility of war.

Easy reading and mildly entertaining and informative, but that is about it! It does relate to my daily dog walking experiences, but there was no additional drama or excitement.

1.0 out of 5 stars Blinking rubbish, 10 Jan. 2012

You have to screw the lights tightly to activate. That is fine, and they do blink nicely. But then it is almost impossible to stop the lights from working. They have to be unscrewed to de-activate and you have to go so far with the unscrewing that they fall apart! If you leave them lightly screwed, then hang them up, they switch themselves on and blink the battery to death. Will not buy them again.
