You can't go wrong with this book if you can find it. It's not trying to be pretentious or technically difficult but if you want some tasty recipes without much hassle then this book is highly recommended. It's got some great brasserie style recipes and the Duck Confit is amazing. If you are looking to get into French home cooking then there is no better place to start. Sometimes less is more!
