Doorways to Infinity: Book Five of the Wizard Born Series
Doorways to Infinity: Book Five of the Wizard Born Series
Price: £0.99

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok but the worst of the series., 24 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ok but the worst of the series. All the books have been a little young adult (not necessarily a bad thing, even for an "old codger" like me), but quite readable, quite enjoyable. In this one, however, everything, characters, story line, general "feel" was just too juvenile

3.0 out of 5 stars Just a lacked that "something", 16 April 2015

Liked it, read it, but not a really gripping storyline. Just a lacked that "something" that make a 4 or 5 star book

3.0 out of 5 stars I still like most of his books, 16 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Let me state that I'm a fan of Christopher Nuttall, I have dozens of his books, many of which I have read & re-read time & time again. I like his
characters & the type of stories / story lines he writes. BUT (everyone knew that was coming didn't they) I do feel he's writing too many, too fast.
He has several continuing storylines going at the moment & most of the recent ones are showing signs of staleness & lack of development. This one is a particular example of that trend. I, like most readers of this genre, are aware of the writers that just go on & on & on into book 12-13-14-15 etc of the same story, the ones that never end & become just plain boring (the marvellous Bujold being one of few exceptions) & I worry that Chris may be drifting into this trap. I still like most of his books, but I find that I've started jumping some of them. i.e book 6 doesn't sound much "cop" so I go straight to book 7 etc. Christopher, please don't stop writing, your often a rock in a sea of mediocrity, but even rocks can get worn down.

2.0 out of 5 stars a complete blank, 16 April 2015

Enough said is the fact that I can't remember anything about it, storyline, characters, settings, all a complete blank.

Journeymage: Book Six Of The Spellmonger Series

5.0 out of 5 stars Another good read in a good, very readable series., 16 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Another good read in a good, very readable series. Good pace, several likeable characters, each with depth & development. I love that the main storyline doesn't jump about all over the place (a particular pet hate) & that any diverging stories exploring the "supporting" characters are explored in equally well written & enjoyable offshoot books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not great., 16 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not bad, but not great. No specific complaints or gripes, actually a quite well written continuation of previous storylines, but for originality, excitement, fun/pleasure it's just not a 5 star book

4.0 out of 5 stars Different & fun to read, 7 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The Seventh Bride (Kindle Edition)
He does write off-beat somewhat "different" books, but they're mostly fun to read & quite enjoyable. This is another one of that type

Slanted Jack (Jon and Lobo Book 2)
Slanted Jack (Jon and Lobo Book 2)
Price: £5.23

4.0 out of 5 stars OK but not great, 7 April 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It's OK, well written & readable, just not a really gripping or exciting storyline. However, unfortunately, the relationship between the two leading "characters" doesn't appear to progress or change at all. As one half of this relationship is a computer that's fair enough I suppose, but
the more or less repetitive dialogue becomes boring. Even "Slanted Jack" is predictable, i.e. always misleads, betrays & twists & turns. It's not a bad book, or even a poor book, it's just not a great 5 star book that you can't put down or wait to read again book

Very quick delivery, appear to be well made, very smooth to the touch & initially feel comfortable. However, they don't' "breath" & I personally found them too warm.
