4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent resource, 18 July 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The major drawback to this otherwise excellent book of recipes is that it has been piggybacked on to the 5:2 diet fad that has featured in the news, both digital and traditional, throughout the last couple of months. Potential purchasers who disagree with the concept will not buy it and they will miss out on a user friendly, healthy and tasty set of recipes. I have tried out 6 of the recipes so far and every one has been a hit with the family. My advice is to ignore the first few pages that try to sell the diet and just get straight on to the recipes themselves. Happy cooking!

Aqua Optima Corona Water Chiller with 6x 60-day Evolve filters, 1 year's supply
Aqua Optima Corona Water Chiller with 6x 60-day Evolve filters, 1 year's supply

5.0 out of 5 stars Simplicity itself, 27 Jun 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The Aqua Optima brand is, to my mind, the gold standard for water filters so I was pleased to receive this water chiller. It was a little bigger than I was expecting (!) but it fits nicely in my kitchen. Setting the chiller up couldn't be simpler; the only time consuming element was submerging the filter in water for five minutes. Once filled up and switched on it takes about ten minutes to chill the water to the optimum temperature and it stays at that temperature for as long as the unit is switched on. If you are buying for a small office, a clubhouse or a thirsty family this chiller is perfect.

Paris
Paris
by Edward Rutherfurd
Edition: Hardcover

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book for a great city., 20 Jun 2013
This review is from: Paris (Hardcover)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a gripping story that combines social and political history of Paris with a strong narrative to create a book that is very difficult to put down. It includes the building of the Eiffel Tower, the persecution of the Hugenots and the influx of American artists in the early 1900s. The story itself revolves around four families whose separate lives eventually become intertwined in the latter part of the book. The style is smooth flowing and easy to read, meaning that the historical details do not become dry or seem like a forced history lesson. I read this just after visiting Paris for the first time and I loved reading the descriptions of the streets I walked and the places I visited, but this is a great book whether you have been there or just know the landmarks. A highly recommended read.

Buddhism: A Very Short Introduction (Very Short Introductions)
Buddhism: A Very Short Introduction (Very Short Introductions)
by Damien Keown
Edition: Paperback
Price: £5.59

5.0 out of 5 stars An indispensable guide to Buddhism, 20 Jun 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This book is fascinating whether you are completely new to Buddhism or have a little knowledge of the philosophy behind it. With detailed explanations of the principles of Buddhism from the beginnings of the Buddha's life to modern days it covers a huge amount of ground for such a small book. Whether you have a different faith or no faith at all the opportunity to understand this worldwide religion is invaluable. You will certainly be wiser by the final page and you may even find some lessons for your own life.

4.0 out of 5 stars A useful start to wet shaving, 17 May 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
My son, who has just started to shave has used this product for a number of weeks and is impressed with the comfort and closeness delivered by this shaving product. It is something of an equivalent to a Braun toothbrush in that the action of the power razor makes it easier to gain the results required. Apparently there were a few nicks early on as he got used to it but now that he is able to judge the optimum pressure to put on the skin he has had no problems with nicks or patches of heavier stubble. All in all I would recommend this product to anyone who wet shaves on a regular basis.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to set up, 25 April 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a very good piece of equipment that my daughter was really excited about receiving. The set up was straightforward and the variety of heights available for the net is a really useful feature. The hoop is sturdy and the net looks like it will be hard wearing as well. If you want to move it, you would probably be well advised to empty some of the water out, but it is staying put in the garden during the rest of the spring and summer so I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Start for reluctant trainers, 25 April 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
The beauty of this system is that the control lies with you rather than the equipment. If you are unfamiliar with this kind of suspension training, the main focus is using your own body weight to ensure an effective workout that doesn't overtax your muscles. The door anchor allows you to train in any room without the usual fear of the door flying open or being unable to support the weight of the equipment. It also serves, initially at least, as an inhibitor to overtraining as you have to get used to how much pressure you can exert. I found it easy to use especially once you have looked at the DVD and for someone who hasn't used this system, or indeed trained in many years, it has been a useful reintroduction to weight training.

4.0 out of 5 stars Problem free installation, 18 April 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Although by no means a technophobe I was very impressed with how easy this device was to install. It plugged in to my Lenovo laptop and it was extremely easy to use via a USB. I can't comment on how easy it is with a mobile device as I haven't and won't connect it with wi-fi as I am worried about the inherent safety of the system. That being said, it has a huge amount of space for my purposes and will be a very useful addition to my storage capability.

5.0 out of 5 stars Skull crushing sound, 17 Jan 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Every so often, a product comes in packaging that is not merely a gimmick but a touch of genius. That is the case with these VIBE BlackDeath headphones. The skull is a real talking point and an obvious table decoration for Halloween! The headphones themselves are as good as you could want especially for the price. The noise cancelling headphones do their job in no uncertain terms, making my son's heavy metal music played at high volume completely inaudible to anyone passing! In terms of sound quality the sound from either a Laptop or an MP3 was first rate. I totally recommend these headphones and would be astonished if you can get anything better for twice the price.

Philips LivingColors Micro Colour Changing Mood Light Black (Integrated 1 x 4.7 Watts LED Bulb, Touch Control)
Philips LivingColors Micro Colour Changing Mood Light Black (Integrated 1 x 4.7 Watts LED Bulb, Touch Control)
Price: £25.20

5.0 out of 5 stars A great start to the morning, 17 Jan 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This Living Colours lamp is a great addition to my early morning routine. Instead of waking up, turning on the main light and blinking as my eyes get used to it I now put this mood lamp on. You can choose from a huge range of colours, but be warned it can be difficult to control the first few times you use it! It can also be a little difficult to turn off, but you simply need to remember that one quick press on the on/off button is all that is needed. Although I've only had this for a short while I now can't imagine any other way of starting my day.
