This review is from: Fifteen Postcards (Kindle Edition)
The basic concept behind the book is good but I was frustrated by the poor grammar, and rapidly lost patience with the main character, who comes across as a bubble-head with no capacity for rational thought. Won't be saving this to read again.

Pixy Junket (Viz Graphic Novel)
Pixy Junket (Viz Graphic Novel)
by Pure
Edition: Paperback

4.0 out of 5 stars Pixy Junket, 2 Oct. 2009
Bikers Tatsuki and Shin are on a road trip and looking forward to their next meal, but their plans are derailed when they accidentally acquire a pixy, Pacifica. Since the pixy is the "treasure of this world", they quickly find themselves being hunted down by various others who are intent on receiving the pixy's blessing.

The protagonists are engaging and the plot, which has overtones of Masamune Shirow's "Black Magic", is entertaining. The drawings at times suggest that the illustrator is still developing their style, but overall a rollicking good read.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a very well designed guide but has its uses, 2 Aug. 2009
The game guide contains a lot of information that is useful, but you have to read it cover to cover every time you use it to find the bit of information you are looking for, as there is no index, which for a 256 page guide is frankly ridiculous. In the end I spent a few hours putting in little marker tabs on all the useful pages, which helps a bit. It also does not contain all the information it could. For example, if you have a toddler and want to know how to train it up, you need to find a small panel on page 44 that tells you about toddler skills (under the heading "a day in the life"), and another on page 96 (under "simology") that tells you that the Xylophone raises the guitar skill, but even if you look up the other toys on page 231 (in the Object Catalogue) it does not tell you that, for example, the peg toy and building blocks also raise a skill (on toddler and child respectively). It works out much faster to find things out by experimenting with the game.
