5.0 out of 5 stars If there was a 6* option i would have chosen it, 20 Jun 2005
Where to begin..... I can't actually explain the magnitude of this album in words. It is absolutely incredible. Two 18 year old boys essentially have put together a masterpiece deriving from hugely diverse influences. Pick them out for yourself: Radiohead, screamo or even DJ Shadow. On paper this may sound like a recipee for disaster, but in actuallity the duo have created a multi layered album which is lyrically and musically beyond their years.
From ambient dance track "Les Lumieres" to the heavy lush electro melt of "A Day in the life of a Pool Shark" - Idiot Pilot have in essence invented a completely unique sound. There is no other act like them.
For myself personally I can say I haven't got this excited about a band since I discovered Nine Inch Nails in the early 90's. I have seen the guys live twice, and on stage they live up to all your expectations and then some. Yes I am gushy as hell, but please understand, this album is perfect!
