1.0 out of 5 stars Good while it worked properly..., 11 Mar. 2016
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've had this now for about 4 weeks.
The first two weeks were great all worked OK.
Second two weeks its not counting steps properly - loads are missing, sleep is not being recorded properly and it has trouble syncing all the time, I have to keep rebooting and uninstalling & re-installing the app on my phone. So annoying.
I have looked after it well so no reason for the sudden problems.

When it was working it was great, but now it's just a waste of time.
(I am about to complain to Jawbone).

5.0 out of 5 stars Every song is brilliant 5*, 28 Mar. 2015
This review is from: Frantic (Audio CD)
Amazing album. Not a bad song on it.
Variety of styles and sounds all done to perfection.
Personal favourites are the Heavy Beautiful Smile; Tom Petty-esque One Wring Turn; melodic Frantic; and epic Big City.
But this album is just a great rock album filled with great rock songs. Brilliant singing and musicianship and good lyrics.
If you like any kind of guitar based rock you'll love this.
Buy it now!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap Fun but Dangerous, 17 Sept. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this for my 7 year old son as a treat.

Good points:
****************
I knew would be cheap/nasty - it is.
BUT the game play is really good and my son really enjoyed playing the games.

Bad points:
***************
Battery life very short
Tried to charge Simstation.
Plugged it in to charge using adaptor supplied.
Adaptor started buzzing i went to unplug.
It then EXPLODED. I got a ELECTRIC SHOCK from the mains.
Power tripped out.

*Lucikily it was not my 7 year old son.
*Luckily I was unharmed from the shock.
*Luckily there was no fire.
*Luckily the only damage is a smoke stain from the explosion.

So although its a cheap fun game, do not buy as it is also very dangerous.

My 7 year old girl loves this and very easy to use - picked it up straightaway.
Wish they made one big enough for me - her dad.

I found this band by chance whilst flicking through music channels on TV.
Bought Synthetica on the strength of that and love it.
Rare that I can listen to an album in full - but i can with this.
If you like Blondie / New Order / Garbage / Madonna / Sneaker Pimps / St Etienne etc you'll love this.
Gonna buy the rest of Metrics stuff!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nearly 5*, but not quite, 6 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a great album. I was worried it maybe too MOR but it has some heavy guitars in parts which I like.

Loud guitar based opener, then followed up by the excellent 'Every Road...'
The album just is full of Heavy guitar hooks, great vocals and a lot of soul.

For me the standout is 'Seven years gone' which starts out mellow and just builds and builds.

This album is a lot like 'Keep the Faith' if you liked that then Aftermath is for you.

The problem is two tracks 'Weathering the Storm' and 'World' the first has cringeworthy chorus lyrics, the latter is just sickly sweet.
If these two songs weren't on the album i'd have given it a 5.

Anyway get it, you'll enjoy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Camera - Amazing Quality Images and good effects, 1 April 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have had this camera a couple of weeks now. It was bought to replace a Panasonic DMC550 - which is very similar spec (and gets good reviews on Amazon) but the difference is amazing.

Image quality is spot on. Very little noise even at night when correct settings are used. It is so much better than my old camera, and almost up with my EOS450.

The effects are great particularly the colour accent one - which only highlights one hue - eg red and leaves everything else black and white. The miniature effect is great fun too.

The camera feels tough and well built and is extremely intuitive and simple to use straight out of the box!

Great service from Amazon too.

I cannot recommend this camera enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars They have changed direction - so what?, 18 May 2007
This review is from: Minutes To Midnight (Audio CD)
This is a great album, but it is not Hybrid Theory or Meteora.

I would argue against what people are saying that this is now mainstream - there are some pretty experimental songs on hear. Some heavy, some not. But all are accomplished.

I felt Meteora was too similar to Hybrid Theory, this album however really shows them grow, some great vocals, lyrics, guitar work and some heavy bass and great drums holding it together.

This is a massive album and could go either way - it could be as successful as U2's Joshua Tree or as big a commercial flop as the Stone Roses Second Coming - sepending on what the buying public think.

I think its great...

They have thrown away their formula but they have produced the goods.

3.0 out of 5 stars Maybe it'll grow on me...., 27 Jun. 2006
This review is from: Liberation Transmission (Audio CD)
After thefakesoundofprogress and Start Something, the initial listens of Liberation Transmission are a bit of a let down for me I am afraid. It's a much more poppy affair.

The first track (Everyday Combat) is probably the heaviest and is a great start - but after that there are no massive impact songs - like there were on the other two albums.

There is nothing wrong with any of the music on here it's a good album - just not quite what I hoped for, and I am sure it'll sell well, I just feel it is more poppy and less dynamic than the first two records.

It's almost a bit early Bon Jovi(ish) - reminds me of a lot of 80's LA bands too - which is no bad thing!

If I could have given it 3.5*'s I would have.

I'll still go and see them live.
