5.0 out of 5 stars Works fine in my Sansa Clip+, 1 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
My 64GB card was getting full a replacement was needed. I use it to store radio programmes and stand up comedy which quickly devours the space so when this became available in the UK it was purchased.

Formatting cannot be done with the inbuilt Windows 7 formatter as it cannot handle memory cards of this size so used Guiformat which does the job very well. I downloaded from here: [...]

The formatted size for the card is 119GB and then set to work copying everything from the old card to the new. This went without a hitch and all the files could be recognised by the Sansa Clip+ player (after I upgraded the firmware to Rockbox).

Everything works fine and now have enough storage space to last me for a while to come. I would recommend this card to anyone needing lots of space in order to forgo the hassle of swapping cards.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dad thinks it's great, 25 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Reviews for this type of equipment are scarce especially when you factor in my dad's Asus ME302C MeMo Pad.

This had the most reviews so took a chance and purchased it. When it arrived at my parent's place he installed it in the car and said it was straightforward. The tablet fits the holder snugly which can be easily adjusted for the perfect viewing angle. As for the holder it secured itself firmly to the dashboard and has remained there driving over rough terrain.

He likes it and you will to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and cheerful connector, 25 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I was looking for a connector so that USB sticks can be used with my father's Asus ME302C MeMo Pad. Dad perused what was available at Maplins and was not too impressed at the price for this there to be polite.

Bought this which was over £11 cheaper than Maplins with free postage. Soon as it came tried it with the tablet and works fine. Every USB stick used with this has worked without a problem.

At 79p it's a stone cold bargain so get one today!

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and not entirely cheerful, 12 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Logitech F310 Gamepad (Accessory)
When my Rumblepad 2 gave up the ghost this was bought as a replacement. It's fairly comfortable in the hands (I have small hands) but feels light and not something that will be durable in the long term.

The two large shoulder buttons are difficult to press but since it is used mainly with emulators not a problem. The d-pad is light and clicky and find it difficult to make quick precise movements in games that require a lot of action. As for the face buttons they do not give a firm response when pressed and am already wondering how long they will last.

The analogue sticks have not been used as they are not required for the games I play. Windows 7 (64-bit) detected the pad immediately and was good to go.

Right now the search is currently on for a replacement. This will do as back up but certainly would not use it as a main pad for any length of time if it can be avoided.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes for a cheap Halloween costume, 27 Oct 2013
Are you going to a Halloween party and have no idea who to go as?

Simply smear corned beef all over your face and go as Simon Weston.

AmazonBasics USB 2.0 4-Port Ultra Mini Hub
AmazonBasics USB 2.0 4-Port Ultra Mini Hub
Price: £6.57

5.0 out of 5 stars Fine piece of kit, 26 Oct 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Needed a new USB hub since the old one was getting temperamental. Reviews for this were decent so took the plunge.

The unit itself is slightly larger than a box of matches with three ports on one side and the fourth on the opposite side. Rather curious design but does the job. As many have mentioned the lead that connects to the PC is short but since the hub is not going to be moving about a lot it's not a problem. The yellow light is bright but turning the hub upside down remedies this concern.

In use the ports are very snug ensuring that once in the leads will not be falling out. Windows 7 (64-bit edition) recognised it immediately and was good to go in under a minute.

This is a well-made piece of kit that will serve your USB socket needs very well at a good price.

Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing fancy, just does the job very well indeed, 20 Oct 2013
My Asus laptop is fine for everyday use but cannot keep up with the latest advancements in connection technology. Being unable to connect it to my TV due to having a VGA output and my TV only having a HDMI input a solution was required.

This is where the adapter comes into play. It arrived in a plain brown box and upon opening revealed everything you see pictured at the top of the page. The instructions are printed on Izal-quality paper and its contents of unimportant.

I connected the adaptor to the laptop and the HDMI cable to the TV to reveal no picture; why is this? It's because I forgot to connect the USB cable from the adapter to the laptop. Without it there is no power and consequently no picture.

Problem solved. Now what is it like in operation? The converted picture fills the TV with no borders and looks good; there is no reduction in picture quality. Sound is fine and job done.

A good product at a good price. Anyone looking for a solution to save the cost and hassle of purchasing new laptop in order to use HDMI should look no further.

4.0 out of 5 stars At last a decent Chinese phone!, 16 Sep 2013
After my previous experience with a Chinese phone I decided to be more circumspect. Checked the reviews and waited until it was stocked by a national UK company (CW).

Packaging: Small box complete with manual, earphones that are going nowhere near my ear, phone, battery and USB lead for charging. All pretty standard. Phone specification as described. So far good.

Phone: As pictured. May not win many beauty contests but it's a phone not a fashion accessory. Screen is capacitive, good size and the 800x480 resolution is high for a phone at this price. End result is a very clear and bright screen that's easy to use at all light levels.

Camera takes respectable shots and videos and is certainly better than my S3 (though so was the K800i, my S3 is iffy in this department) though it won't be best of breed. Maybe highly recommended at its price point.

The Ascend Y300 is indeed a dual-core 1GHz phone with 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory and SD Card slot that supports up to 32GB cards. Ascend Y300 is solidly built with the USB socket on the upper right hand side, rubber backing to make it easier to hold. A couple of hours on charge and you're good to good which is more than enough for a day's usage.

In operation: Huawei's version of JB is quick and makes using the phone a breeze. There is a slight delay in loading apps but that is to be expected with the available RAM. Wi-Fi works well and has no problem in finding and staying connected to a source. Volume and speaker were loud enough. Call quality is fine with reception crystal clear. No problems in sending and receiving texts either.

Connecting to PC: Windows 7 (64-bit) recognised it immediately and was good to go in under a minute. Huawei do make updates of their firmware available from their website for users to download and install. They will also send you the unlock code free of charge so you can install whatever firmware takes your fancy. Since I find the pre-installed one fast enough, all I did was delete the installed rubbish on it and nothing else. Still nice to have the option though. You can also use any SIM of your choosing as well.

Conclusion: This is a great budget phone and comes recommended. You won't find a better one at this price point!

HINT: When asking for the unlock code do NOT use a Japanese e-mail address. They don't like that one bit.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not one of their better albums, 2 Sep 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Islands (Audio CD)
Since the guitarist and main songwriter Fridrik Karlsson left before this album I wondered how they would cope. The answer is they didn't.

There is nothing here that makes the album an essential purchase. Production is poor and instead of their bright vibrant sound everything sounds soft warm and musty as if they were after a 70s recording feel to proceedings. The guitar solos are numerous and overbearing. There are no memorable tracks and it was a chore to sit through.

They need to have a discussion about the direction to take in the future. Maybe Fridrik can be persuaded to come back as a songwriter as without him there's not a lot here.

I am hoping this is just an aberration. If the next one is like this then oh dear.
