1.0 out of 5 stars Blew up and burnt the mattress, 9 Nov 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Beware - and if you own this I would suggest inspecting it now!

The wire between the controller and the blanket split just where it goes into the plug (the plug that goes into the socket on the blanket). It exploded with a flame, a lot of heat and molten plastic while the bed was occupied. The mattress is black and scorched and the wire black and melted.

Could have been quite nasty - I do have photos but how do I post them here?

Other than that:

No heating at the top.
No heating in the middle.
Massive lump for the (exploding) plug/socket.

4.0 out of 5 stars Maybe a bit fragile?, 25 July 2014
These appear to be nicely made bendy-plastic cases. The wheels work well, and they are quite light. As others have said, the bright orange colour is great, as is the fact that they store nested into each other.

My only reservation would be that after their first flight, the largest case has been squashed and the plastic deformed, leaving an arc of creased pale colour orange. The plastic didn't break, but it looks like it came close! I'll see if I can post a photo.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent directional antenna, 12 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
We live about 25 miles from the main TV transmitter, and can get away with indoor antennae.

This one works perfectly. It is highly directional, so giving a good boost if you point the thing at the transmitter (point the small end of the top part towards the transmitter). You really need to show a signal strength meter on your TV to ensure you have the best position, then re-run the channel scan to make sure you have all the channels.

Highly recommended, but remember if you have the antenna pointing the wrong way you will get no signal, and don't bother with a boosted one - boosters are only for long cable runs and you definitely don't have a long run here.

If you live in a poor reception area, or your building blocks the TV signal on the inside, then don't bother with any indoor antenna. Just spend the money and get a pro to install a proper antenna on the roof.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unreliable, slow and huge, 13 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
My first R6300 was DOA. Tried all sorts but it had to go back.

My second "worked". This is how you should define "working" in Netgear world:

* Communicates with a modem for weeks, then refuses to.
* Has very poor range. This is then "fixed" by the beamforming firmware, which trashes network speed. Netgear now suggest that poor speed/bad pings should be met by returning to the old pre-beamforming firmware.
* After a while mine refused to accept any firmware updates. Then wireless clients were being disconnected. Then it refused to communicate with the modem.

I wasted a vast amount of time with this thing. Firmware, settings, post offices, Netgear "support", complaints from everyone. In the end when the second one failed, I simply placed it in a wheelie bin, because I couldn't be bothered with all the hassle of a third one. Best decision ever - the Billion 7800DXL I got works perfectly, and I get a faster ADSL speed for good measure too.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless if you have a PPPoA modem, 14 Nov 2013
Had to return this on the same day, since it doesn't support PPPoA modems. My ADSL line and ISP only support PPPoA, so that's the end of that.

As a side note, I did contact the premium Asus helpline, which eventually lead to a recorded message with an internet address on, and you have to go there and send an email where they will reply in several days. Not much use for networking products that don't work!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not as pictured, 3 Aug 2013

The plug is not the low profile type as pictured (it is long with the wire coming out of the centre of the rear) and so will not fit in a tight space.

Waited a month to discover that! :(

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible, 8 July 2013

The mask strap snapped several times within a couple of days use. I kept trying to move the strap around to get more length, but it kept breaking. In the end I gave in and binned it. Total waste of money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rubbish, 23 April 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Easy to set up, but video captures are wobbly, flashy, flicking between colour and B&W and totally and utterly useless. Days of experimentation and checking (output from VCR is perfect when plugged into a monitor) but all to no avail.

Bin fodder, at best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 24 Jan 2013
I bought this for photographic (nothing fancy, just sRGB) work, and it is spot on. Gave it a good check for bleed and dead pixels, and found nothing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great fun, 26 Aug 2012

Hours of mindless fun in the pool. 4 stars because it just sinks (as opposed to just floats) so plenty of time spent trying to find the thing at the bottom of the pool.
