1.0 out of 5 stars Does not protect your phone !!, 2 Dec. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I recently bought my wife a new LG G4 and was looking for a case to protect it. I saw this one from LG and thought that this sounded just right especially having the circular window as well.

When I received it, it semed fairly good quality and fitted the G4 with the leather back attached as well. My only reservation was that the front flap didn't stay firmly shut with the rest of the case i.e there was no magnet holding it shut. The other thing was that the circle is just an open hole with, again, no protection for your screen.

Unfortunately, my fears were confirmed when my wife told me, several weeks later, that she had accidentally dropped the phone and the front flap opened on the way down and the glass smashed. yes, that's one more bad thing about this case, there is no overlip on the case. What I mean by that is that the case fits flush with the screen, there is no extra bit of case going past the screen to protect it if you do drop it.

So overall, I'm not impressed with the case at all and I hope this warns any potential buyer, that, unless you're really careful with your phone, there is a chance that if you drop it, something will happen to it.

This is something that I can't take a chance with and £80 later after having the phone repaired, I've gone for a wallet style case with a proper magnetic clasp which keeps the front of the case securely closed.

Hope you found this review helpful.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not heavy duty at all and liable to crack, 28 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I used these for the first time today to pick up some leaves. admittedly, the leaves were wet, but on scooping up the leaves, these cracked at the join with the handle. Most items that are heavy duty are usually reinforced in areas that would be prone to breaking, The handle area(where stress is at its greatest), would be, in my opinion, an area for such reinforcement. The plastic in this area is thin and therefore liable to break and it has. I would, therefore, not recommend these due to the fact they are not heavy duty and will quite easily crack/break (I have attached a photo of the crack near the handle).

1.0 out of 5 stars These Don't work under Android Lollipop, version 5.0 !!, 6 Dec. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I did a lot of research on wireless headphones. There are so many to choose from . I noticed that the Jabra Revo's were getting some pretty decent reviews. So I decided to go for these white ones. Now these are £60 cheaper than similar ones on Amazon so I i'm not sure what the difference is. Anyway I took the plunge. They arrived next day. They are beautifully packaged and the quality of these are absolutely amazing. Very solid, great padding on the headband and ear cups. One thing I didn't like was that when you pulled down on on the ear cup to adjust the lengths there was no real clicking sound that gave you the confidence that they would stay in place, it was just a smooth action that could potentially move a little bit.

So far so good. You have to also download the Jabra sound app to take advantage of the dolby digital sound and there is a code in the with instructions that allows you to unlock the app. When pairing with your phone either via NFC (if your mobile has that) or bluetooth another app will download which is the jabra services app which runs in the background. By the way, pairing was very easy.

Once I had paired by phone via NFC I then pressed the left ear cup's middle button to enable the jabra sound app, which allows you to play your music in dolby digital. That was great. I turned the volume up and down using rotating gestures on the outer rim of the right ear cup and then I thought I would try the double tap feature to get to the next track and press the middle button of that ear cup to pause the music. Well, this is where the trouble begins. Nothing happened. double tapping didn't work and nor did pausing the music. I repaired the headphones two more times and still couldn't use those features. I might add, that I was pairing my phone with a google nexus 5 (vanilla android) phone which had the latest android version running on it, lollipop or version 5.0.

Anyway, I decided to pair the headphones with a previous version of androiid (kit Kat) with my wife's old android phone a htc One (M7). This paired fine and surprise surprise the double tapping worked and middle button worked. Conclusion, these headphones aren't compatible with the latest version of android.

I decided to phone Jabra technical support up and spoke to someone and explained everything that I have put down here about the issue. They gave me a case number and said that it would be escalated and I would get an answer in 24 or 48 hours.

I received the answer from Jabra support yesterday and have pasted it in here so you can see for yourselves the quality of support they offer. Bear in mind, that the phone doesn't work on the latest version of Android and that was made perfectly clear to them:

"Your case 172473 will stay open for 6 business days. If you have additional questions concerning this issue, please reply to this e-mail and we will be glad to offer further assistance.
Thank you.

Markus (Support)

Dear Mr. xxxx,

Can you please upgrade your Android version in order to solve the issue.

Let us know in case the issue continues.

Kind regards,

I know, I'll ask google to send me the latest update to solve the issue.

I love the quality of these, but they don't work on my phone and as you can see the support is not great either. Needless to say the headphones are being returned. I have sent a question to owners if anyone has had the same issue, but have had no replies. I don't think these work with android version 5.0.

They also claim to be compatible with apple, but I am in no way commenting on their operability with an apple product.

So, to conclude, they are a brilliantly made headphone but won't operate under android version 5.0 and with many people opting to upgrade android to the latest version, how many of those are going to find out the headphones don't work for them.

I'd like Jabra to comment themselves on this issue as I can't get a proper answer from their own support people. So just be wary when you buy these and check your android version.

one star because they don't work with ver 5.0, 4 to 5 stars for the quality and build. The sound I didn't get to test.

I hope this review was helpful.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible case !!!, 24 Nov. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've just purchased the Huawei Honor 6 phone for my wife and needed a case to protect it. I saw this one advertised and it looked pretty good especially all the images of it with the descriptions such as "easily cleaned", "ingenious design" and "bendable for better viewing experieince". OK. so all the marketing over, let's turn to reality which is:

1) The front cover of the case doesn't lay flat on the front of the phone. meaning that you can't take advantage of the little window on the right. i.e the sleep function, because it won't lay flat.

2) there is no magnetic catch to keep the front cover closed.

3) When you do bend the cover back and want to hold it in one hand, the screen goes into sleep mode as the front cover, which is now on the rear of the phone, affects the working of the phone meaning you can't use the phone with the front cover folded back.

4) The material's used are really flimsy which is why the front cover won't lay flat on the front of the phone. The front cover needs to be more weighted or have a magnetic catch linking the front to the rear(see point 2). A major oversight here.

As you can see there are major manufacturing flaws with the phone case and due to the above I really cannot recommned this to anyone. if you do decide to take the plunge, I really would urge you to think twice.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's ok. Just don't expect too much intelligence., 4 Sept. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I had the idea that I would really like my house cleaned without any effort from myself as I usually do the hoovering and cleaning. So I thought I would buy a robotic cleaner. I did lots of research into all the types you could get. Those that randomly move around the floor, those that use mapping algorithms to map a section of the room and which then clean in a fairly defined and well thought out way, like the Neato XV.

Anyway, after a lot of deep thought I decided to go for this one, after all the video on the website showed the robot cleaning in a well-defined pattern with no randomness involved.

Anyway, my shiny new robot arrived. I unpacked it and it certainly felt well-constructed and substantial. I plugged the base in and pushed the robot back onto the base for it to charge and left it for 24 hours.

The next day, I moved anything off the floor, because I had read that it didn't like little things on the floor that got in its way. Now, we have wood flooring on our ground floor and it’s quite a big area, so I pressed the start button and off it went. Obviously, I was a little curious and I was watching it do its thing and to be honest it wasn't anything like the video I watched. It went in straight lines and then some diagonally and it seemed to go over the same bits multiple times. It tried mounting and cleaning my swivel chair’s base multiple times. It then went into different rooms to clean without having finished the first room. This was strange, so I looked this up on the Neato FAQ’s and it did indeed say that this was normal behaviour. Really!! Anyway, the Robot continued cleaning the hall until suddenly it seemed to stop. I went to check it and it was trying to get back to the base to recharge its battery. However, it seemed to think that it was being obstructed and it wasn't. I pressed the button for it to continue, but it wouldn't budge. In the end I had to manually place the robot on the charging base.

An hour and a half later, the robot started off again and went from my lounge straight to the kitchen where it proceeded to clean the same bit of floor four times. At this stage I was so frustrated by its lack of intelligence that I turned it off, stuck it back in its box and sent it back to Amazon asking for a replacement.

A few days later the replacement came, just in time for the weekend. I unboxed it and went through the same set up as above. Once it was charged, I pressed the big start button and off it went.

Now this time it seemed to have gained some sense of direction. It seemed to clean a little more intelligently. It was still going from one room to the other without finishing the first room and after about 5 hours it said it had finished. One good bit of news, it did manage to successfully find the charging station. However, some parts of the floor still had dirt on it, it hadn't really cleaned that well and it took so long!!

OK, so yes, you would probably want to start it off while you are at work, that’s if it doesn’t stop midway asking you to empty the dust container or it can’t get back to the charging base. Another thing is that it’s very noisy. You have to buy a different brush bar to reduce that.

The bottom line is that, yes it does the hoovering for you and if you run it daily it will probably keep a ‘smaller’ house/apartment clean. I don’t think it’s suitable for a larger house. It’s unpredictable in its operation and certainly not as intelligent as the manufacturers make it out to be. Personally, I would wait to see what further advances are made in 2015 before you part with your cash. I certainly won’t be getting another one until the confidence is there that it really can do a decent job.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very poor display renders it useless (outdoors), 14 Aug. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I wanted to get a fitness tracker and I did a lot of research, In the end I picked the withings as it had an altimeter which many don't have. I saw that some reviewers had said that the display was a bit dim and that you couldn't see it in bright sunlight, but looking at the photos on the Withings site and here, it looked bright and I couldn't see this being an issue. Well, the parcel arrived and I thought great. Lets turn it on. It also happened to be a bright sunny day as well. I turned the unit on and to be honest I wondered if there was an issue as it looked as if the display had been placed in a muddy pool of water. It really was very difficult to see even indoors. Anyway, I took it outside into the sunlight and yes, the reviewers were right, i could not see the display at all. Now, something like this that is going to be used outdoors, requires a display that can be seen. Surely, if you're running, walking, cycling and you want to glance at the device, you should be able to see the display. Well, you can't. I sent it back the same day. Now some of you may be happy with the device, but for me a poor display is a deal breaker and even worse one you can't see. Hopefully, Withings next iteration of the device will see a better display. Until that happens I'll wait and see what other devices come out towards the end of the year. Message for Amazon. Please show the display as it is on the device. It isn't that bright!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Drips water all over your clothes, 14 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I only received this product this morning. I had read such good reviews about it that I thought I would give it a go. It has everything anit-calc, anti-drip etc., and for the price it seemed good value.

I unboxed my shiny new iron. read the instructions carefully. Filled it up with water, turned it on and started to iron. Well as I'm starting to iron, water is dripping out of the sole plate onto my clothes absolutely soaking them. I don't mean a spot here and there, I mean a lot of water, to the point where they were so damp that I had to stop using this iron. Maybe this is a faulty product, I don't know but I'm not going to try another. You may have a different experience than me. The dripping happens on the one dot setting rather than the two or three dot settings. Be warned.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Spec computer but poor keyboard, 20 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ordered this on the 3rd May. On unpacking the laptop I was impressed initially by the design and build quality. The windows 8 OS started almost immediately with a 16GB SSD, not 64GB I might add. The laptop has an impressive GPU an nvidia GTX 660M with 2GB of GDDR5 RAM. I managed to play Bioshock infinite on medium quality without any problems at all and there is a video driver update which does give some improvements in game playing as well.

The JBL speakers are outstanding, the onekey theatre system is great and the surround sound is nothing short of remarkable.

All in all I cannot fault the spec of this laptop. However, there is always one caveat and that is the keyboard. Yes it is back lit which is great, but as this purports to be a gaming laptop the most important part of the keyboard is the top left hand portion i.e the keys WASD. However it is this part of the keyboard that is loose and ill fitting. You can see the keyboard give way as you press the keys. The other three quarters of the keyboard is solid.

I spoke to Lenovo and they said that the keyboard should be completely solid and he said that they have had a few units where this part of the keyboard was not screwed in properly.

I have sent mine back to Amazon and when I get a refund, I will purchase another one and hopefully that one will be fine.

Perhaps other users can see if their keyboards give the same way as mine did.

Don't get me wrong for the money it's a top spec laptop and you will not find better value anywhere and I have done a lot of research.. When I get the replacement and the keyboard is fine then I will adjust my final rating to 5*.

*** Amazon, Why has this laptop jumped up in price from £849 to £1000? Not so great value now perhaps !! ***

25th May - Update

I received a replacement laptop today and it has the same issue with the keyboard. Basically, the fan and processor lie beneath that part of the keyboard and hence there is no support given to the keyboard in this area. Anyway, sending it back and will be getting an MSI gaming laptop instead. It's a shame, but you can't take a chance especially as that part of the keyboard will be used so much whilst gaming.

This review is from: I Can't Handle It (MP3 Download)
Saw the article in my local paper about how this song was written to raise money for charity. So glad I bought it. The lyrics are so fitting and the song is beautifully and hauntingly sung by Francesca Harris. It's amazing to think this has been composed by a 14 year old and sung by a 14 year old. Let's try and raise the profile of this song, buy, buy, buy. Give something back to society and spend 89p, it will make you feel good. I certainly do.
