Great features and good used buy., 4 Feb 2013
I would first like to explain that I have owned a few Pioneers in the past and I have been happy them all. Right back to the the early solid DJM300 which is just as pleasing to use as is the DJM400 and 500 that i've owned.
The DJM 500 being it's predecessor and having the same excellent familiar layout and industry standard feel. I love both in all honesty, the main difference is the volume channel faders and the addition of a sampler on the 600.
The DJM500 has tighter feel faders, whereas the 600's are the looser type you often now see in the newer range of DJM mixers, DJM 400 and 700,800 e.t.c....
The sound quality is very good for the time it was produced, it still sounds nice today although there have been improvements to both the overall sound quality and effects quality.
Which brings me on to the effects, the effects are of the time and it has a decent array of useful effect including, echo, flanger, Trans, delay, reverb and the more popular filter e.t.c.... All the effects are good especially with the addition of the sampler when used carefully. They are not as fool proof as on some mixers and need to be used more skillfully to get the best from them. Although you will have fun mastering them never the less.
Overall a good solid feel, feature rich product that was built to last...
