2.0 out of 5 stars Broke on day 2, 23 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
My seven year old son was thrilled when this arrived for his birthday. I thought it felt a bit flimsy as i put it together, but thought, oh well, its only track. We found it totally hit and miss if the car made it around the track and on day 2, disaster, the little car lost power even when fully charged and never made it around the track again. i'm sending it back and choosing the Hot Wheels Mega Loop Mayhem which ive seen at my friend's house and seems much tougher. The main CRUCIAL differences are that the Mega Loop is more fun as two children can play simultaneously, there are no batteries or charging to deal with, and you can use all the hot wheels cars you already own on it, not just the one little rather flimsy car which in our case unfortunately broke on day 2.

I'm replacing with this Hot Wheels Mega Loop Mayhem

5.0 out of 5 stars Guilt-free tele time for little kids!, 22 April 2010

Let's face it, nearly everyone reaches for a DVD from time to time to occupy the kids. Even peppa pig can turn a bit saccharine after a few viewings but, fear not! Check out this delightful series of Summerton Mill episodes. They have fun and gently provoking pre-school themes, lots of magical touches and a backbone of classic storytelling. The stop animation is really refreshing to the eye, as the soundtrack is to the ear. Really lovely and not that well known, so you can be the one to turn all your friends kids onto it. Always nice to be the first! Get it, it's great.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is magical...genius...inspiring, 16 Feb. 2009

This book is clearly the life's work of a wonderful lady. it is brimming with wacky, original and easy to pull off creative ideas. Some small and quick, others involving bandsaws and more vision. But she makes it all do-able with her hand-drawn instructions and zest for life. In fact, the whole book is hand-drawn by her with no photos, but it's not a drawback as it's all very clear. Very environmentally responsible, pro recycling, hippy, friendly and properly fun. Great parenting and nanny resource. Brilliant!

5.0 out of 5 stars A firm family favourite., 16 Feb. 2009

I first saw this book in the library in Urdu, but could tell it was great. It is now a regular at bedtime. The art is lovely and really captures life on a farm and the changing seasons. The story has a theme of oppressed animals rising up against the lazy, fat farmer. My two love it and so do i. The dvd, whilst only 6 mins long, is also a delight. "How goes the work?" is a regular refrain shouted around our house. Would make a fab present to age 18 months up, in my opinion. Proper storytelling and bonus dvd. A winner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best gardening kit out there!, 16 Feb. 2009

I looked and looked for a gardening set. i really wanted something that looked and felt like grown up tools, not plastic rubbish. (note the watering can is plastic, which makes sense.) This set is truly great! It was very reasonably priced (the shipping was way more than the product), and all the tools are steel with wood handles. They will last a lifetime with good care. The seedling box is a great addition and we are looking forward to a summer of fun in the children's veg patch. I can highly recommend this set. It has a real wow factor.
