As always, I was left with a warm, comforting feeling when I finished Avra`s God. Ann has a way of painting with words, I feel like I am right there sitting on the beach around a roaring fire with her characters. Each character has their own faults and they are written in such a way that you fall in love with them and feel their pain and joy.

Avra`s God follows four friends as they fumble around through life, trying to find their place in the world. Avra falls for drummer, Cisco. Kallie falls for lead singer Jesse. The four are very different to each other and whilst Avra wants to find love, Kallie is trying to do everything she can to stay away from it.

This is a great story that weaves in how religion can play a part in modern day life as the friends turn to prayer as they would a friend for advice. I know when I pick up one of Ann's books I will have a great story and will always finish with a smile on my face.

I found the acknowledgements very heart-warming and end with a quote from it

"Everyone needs someone who believes in them, who thinks what they have to say is worth listening to, or in my case, reading."

Thank you for a wonderful read.

4.0 out of 5 stars A funny, romantic read, 12 Aug. 2013
This review is from: The Dating Game (Kindle Edition)
Gill is single, her friends desperately try to set her up but all they succeed in doing is provide a string of disasters. In a final attempt to meet someone special she joins an exclusive dating agency.

The Dating Game follows Gill through the numerous dates and men that she meets. I loved the various meetings with all her friends. The author manages to convey such warmth between them and it is a pleasure to read these as her friends comfort her, make fun of her and are always there for her.

As far as the dates go I flittered between who I thought she should date and changed my mind constantly. Should she go for the polite business man, the fun guy, the action packed adventurous guy or the nice, big hearted guy.

It is a long road before Gill is finally able to decide and the ending was delightful, exactly how I wanted it to end.

A recommended read from the woman who is so happy that she is married and does not have to go through this anymore!!!

Jessica Park - Flat Out Matt

This is an accompaniment to the wonderful book Flat Out Love and will make no sense what-so-ever if you try to read this first!

As always the status updates are imaginative and brilliant and very, very sharp. They just sum up how each character is feeling at the time but I did look upon them differently this time knowing how it would all end. I will admit I am always hesitant at books that provide the same story just from a different point of view but this just blew me away.

I will not recap the story or give any references because you need to read Flat out Love first. What I will say is that Jessica Park manages to tell Matt`s story in a completely fresh way, after feeling I knew him already her insight into his emotions and fears is just heartbreaking.

I cannot recommend this highly enough and have immediately downloaded Left Drowning. Thank you for a wonderful story.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fresh new take, 26 July 2013
I loved this book, it is a world away from Dancing In The Rain, Caroline Eastons first book, but has all the tention and romance you could ever need.

The story is well told and grips you from the very beginning, whilst it has its steamy moments, it is the pure romance that simply stole my breath. A fantastic read and I look forward to a second book with these characters.

I loved Seth and Macys story and approached this with caution - I mean we all know how it ends so what could be new? OH MY did I find out. From the very start I was hooked and immediately fell back in love with Seth, the characters are so strong and so well written. I did not think I could love Seth anymore but I had a new take on him after this book, it showed a slightly different side to him, a Seth that we never got to know in Leave Me Breathless or Rock Me.

The story is new and exciting and so steamy. If you love a good story with heart stopping moments, sexy characters and OH MY GOSH steamy scenes you definitely MUST read more of her stories. Be prepared to download all the series as they are amazing. As soon as I finished Breathe Me In I immediately went back and read Leave Me Breathless AGAIN. One of my favourite authors.

Thank you thank you thank you xxxxxx

This review is from: Hopeless (Kindle Edition)
I achieved my own `first` whilst reading Hopeless. The last line, of the last paragraph, of the last page was so beautiful, so pure and relevant to the whole story that I actually allowed a tear to fall.

I will not go into details and spoil this story, I will simply say that it seduces you then kicks you in the stomach then spends the rest of the book kissing you to make it all better.

A wonderful survival/love story beautifully written with an amazing heart stopping conclusion. One to read over and over again. I will be seeking other books out by this brilliant amazing author who has the ability to speak directly to your heart.

Thank you for a fantastic lovely story that consumed me from beginning to end. xxx

Heart stopping, breath taking, on the edge of your seat sort of story. The Blake series has always been thrilling to read but this story goes that bit further.

I have no intention of giving away the story in the slightest, what I will say is that everything is about to fall apart! Everything that was concluded and all sorted out in The Blake Curse is going to be undone, ripped apart and stamped on viciously.

This is a thriller that had me biting my nails down to a stub; each character goes through a complete change and suffers traumatic events. The descriptive text takes you to the dark places and holds you captive begging for release. I really liked the story within the story as a diary offers us a window into Jakes past and we finally discover what really happened that day in the woods.

I will say no more other than if you are looking for an outstanding and fantastic, exciting read, The Blake Soul, The Blake Curse and The Blake Mistake are the books for you.

Just when I thought Ann Lee Miller couldn`t produce anything better than The Art of my Life I read Tattered Innocence. I loved it from the start. Rachel has made mistakes, unintentional and without malice but big mistakes in her life. She tries to run from them, hide away but she cannot escape herself.

Jake tried to live a life he thought he wanted but he also is trying to run from his past. This is their story of how they find their place in the world, how they find a love that is right for them and how they find forgiveness.

I could not put this down, it is so gripping and the characters ups and downs truly make you feel that you are on the high seas with them. As always I am in complete awe as to how Ann writes in an almost but not quite way when approaching her romantic scenes, she teases relentlessly but never disappoints. Each character is taken into our hearts and we feel their pain, their joy and in some cases their utter shock. I felt as though as was right there with them, feeling the spray of the sea on my face.

Ann has joined the few authors whose books I will read simply because they have written them and I know I will enjoy whatever subject catches their imagination. I will cherish each one of these books and would not hesitate in recommending this book to anyone who loves a good strong romance with dramatic twists and turns.

Having purchased the kindle version I crave the paperback so that I can read it over and over again and display it on my bookshelf proudly. That`s how good it is!!!!!

Thank you

The Soul Keeper (The Castle Trilogy Book 2)
The Soul Keeper (The Castle Trilogy Book 2)
Price: £3.50

5.0 out of 5 stars Captivating, 21 Mar. 2013
The Soul Keeper picks up where The Transient left off; Melodie and Joseph have been brutally separated unable to return to each other. Melodie is devastated and barely functioning, her friends help out as much as possible but are poor substitutes for her love.

As a Soul Keeper Melodie is given a new charge - Alex - who is full of mischief and pranks and has Melodie pulling her hair out. He reminds you of just how annoying teenage boys can be! Alex soon has to step up as Melodie and her friend's life are put in harm's way as a war is raging and they are all smack in the middle. They must all work together and draw strength from each other if they are to survive it.

I loved the subtle humour in this book, just one line or one look would have me chuckling to myself. I was worried that with all the action in this adventure, the romance would fall to the side but if anything it was intensified tenfold.

The whole group of friends characters develop throughout the story and Chase is definitely my favourite as he battles between his roles as boyfriend, big brother, friend and protector.

I cannot wait for the next part and will say that the teaser the author has printed is excruciating. So mean to do that to us!!!!!

If you enjoy an exciting, romantic, YA read then this series is definitely for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 stars is not enough - amazing read, 10 Mar. 2013
This review is from: The Blake Curse (Kindle Edition)
5 Stars is simply not enough.

I will tell you that I read The Blake Soul first and thought it was amazing. I loved it and was glad I read it first. The Blake Curse captivated me from the very start, I cannot recommend these books highly enough they grip you and don`t let go - 6 hours straight without the loo!!!!!!! Sorry serious head back on again.

I have no idea how to classify this book, it is a romance following two different stories, it is also a thrilling drama that is relentless from the start. I loved the family connection as well; the bond between the father and son just melts my heart. Anyway I am getting ahead of myself; let me set you the scene.

We meet up with Ben, the young son we met in The Blake Soul ( I will add you do not have to have read The Blake Soul to read this book, but I would recommend to) Ben is an intelligent, attractive man who has proven himself invaluable to the British Intelligence agency. He will do anything to protect his family and fulfil his duty, that is until his assignment crosses paths with Cathy and Sam. Ben must interact with both women to obtain vital information but both women change his world right until the end. But it is not just these characters that the book focuses on, Jake is a deeply traumatised man fighting his own demons, he too must battle Ben as he is focussed on succeeding.

The twists and turns in this story had me questioning each characters motive throughout, the vicious and dramatic storyline had my heart in my mouth. The characters are so well written you immediately bond and take the journey with them. A journey that, trust me, I would not like to take alone. I do not want to give any of the story away so it is difficult to explain the raw emotions that the author provokes as each character has to choose to accept their destiny or change it.

5 Stars is not enough, a fantastic, fast, thrilling, romantic, scary at times, journey. I dare not even think where the author will take us in the final instalment.

Amazing read. 100% recommended.
