Interesting content, self-centered author, 6 Sep 2011
No doubt this book is interesting. Hopkins is a pioneer in testing ads and there are techniques which still hold true today. It is also fascinating to read about how the ad business was done years ago. That said, the author is full of himself, always reminding the reader he is the best and how much money he made. The two books also overlap so you get a bit of a deja vu. Finally the layout and font used are just horrible. It seems as if the original book was scanned, scaled up and printed.
My suggestion is to buy/read just Scientific advertising if you are interested in the history of testing ads. Or buy/read My life in advertising if you are a history fan and don't mind the negatives mentioned above.
