The Secret Affair (Jennifer Morgan # 1)
The Secret Affair (Jennifer Morgan # 1)
Price: £1.99

5.0 out of 5 stars A great story, please try it., 14 April 2015
The secret affair is the first book in the Jennifer Morgan series and we meet Jennifer in that very symbol of current Americanism; the coffee shop. Here she unwittingly meets her nemesis and gives him a piece of her mind. As the story develops so do the characters, the descriptions are vibrant and illuminating and you are drawn into the complexities right from the start.
Whilst this is the first book in the series it is a book worthy of reading in its own right as a standalone story, although I cannot wait for the next adventure for these two very modern ladies.
Although the book is billed as romantic suspense not be put off by any prejudices you may have, I am a 54 year old man and I enjoyed it and so did my other half. It is also wise to point out these is no swearing and no "rudeness" which is very refreshing in these days of increasing explicit writing.
The author has previously released successful novels under the name "Ethan Jones". If you enjoyed them you should enjoy this although the story line is a complete departure the authors literary skill still shine through. In my opinion you cannot go wrong with anything by either "E Jones" or "Ethan Jones" - I hope you enjoy his works as much as I have.

The Superstructure
The Superstructure
by Jack Belmonte
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £15.58

5.0 out of 5 stars More twists and turns than a theme park rollercoaster, 25 Feb. 2015
This review is from: The Superstructure (Hardcover)
The second book in the "uprising 2024 series" picks up at full speed from the ending of the previous book "the Octavian Latticework". You do not need to have read that book to appreciate this one, but take my advice and go and buy a copy along with this one and read them both now. The new book starts at full speed, and then gets faster as the story takes on more twists and turns that a theme park rollercoaster. I certainly did not see where this was going but I thoroughly enjoyed the ride, I cannot wait for the next book but first I am going back to re-read this one!

Priority Target (Carrie Chronicles # 1)
Priority Target (Carrie Chronicles # 1)
Price: £1.78

5.0 out of 5 stars Carries goes alone- Another winner from Ethan Jones- highly recommended, 28 Dec. 2014
For those of you who have read Ethan Jones other novels featuring Justin Hall, this is a spin off featuring his comrade Carrie. For those of you who have not read them – why not they are a good read, go and do it now (well after you have read this one!)
Carrie thinks she is working alone, (Justin is off saving the world elsewhere!) but after a bath and change of clothes whilst thinking of her fiancé she is missing desperately, that changes when she meets an old friend for dinner.
We follow Carrie as she meets new people travels to new lands and searches for new targets (and without giving away spoilers – she probably kills them).
The only advice I would give a potential reader is that Ethan writes his books in sequence so there is often a reference to a previous adventure, Whilst it will not be a spoiler you might prefer to read the books in order - and why not as they are all a good read.
Another winner from Ethan Jones- highly recommended.

Shadow Agents (Justin Hall # 6)
Shadow Agents (Justin Hall # 6)
Price: £2.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book - read it if you can, 21 Dec. 2014
As expected from the 6th book in the series Ethan Jones has developed both his style and the characters in the book into well rounded story; but there is still freshness to the story that makes you keep returning to the book. In my case I could not put this down as you are constantly wondering what is going to happen next. It would be easy for the author to keep returning to the same worn themes and it is to his credit that Ethan keeps the plot fresh and the story flowing in new and unexpected ways.
As I have written about the other books in the series, the greatest compliment I can pay this series is to liken it to the “Bourne” series. Obviously it is different but I feel if you like that style of story you will love this book, if you want a really good read go get this book today.
I need to mention I was given this book for free but that has no way influenced my views, I just love this author and his work.
(PS I have given free books zero and one stars in the past and reserve the right to do so again!)

Death Tunnel
Death Tunnel
Price: £2.25

4.0 out of 5 stars A long book but worth the effort., 21 Dec. 2014
This review is from: Death Tunnel (Kindle Edition)
The author says that this is a work of fiction. It is about a British princess who dies in a tunnel – well it if looks like a duck and walks like a duck…..! However the location and other items have been changed to protect the guilty, the innocent, the author and the publishers. Now that is said it is a good read. Without giving away the plot! The story centres around the build up to the event and in a technique I have rarely come across the author allows us to experience the key events from the perspective of all the participants, imagine in a film, if there was a car chase, in the first scene you would see it from the car in front, and in the next scene from the car chasing. It sounds complicated but it does work. It leads to a book that is over 700 pages but flows at a nice pace always keeping you interested even if you can guess the ending. (All of it??)
