I'll admit that I've only just received my copy of this book this evening but, already, I am enthralled by Alice Roberts' engaging writing style. I am looking forward to a very interesting read - I can't wait to turn the next page. Even the index of chapters looks amazing. Must go… ttfn.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book, 13 Aug. 2014

A fascinating and informative analysis of how, when and why the "myth" of Jesus arose, providing insightful examination of the prevailing cultures and beliefs of early times in the Middle East and how these came together, combining with later socio-political developments across the world, to create a giant hoax. A very well-expressed narrative, providing a powerful argument to support the proposition that Jesus never actually existed. I believe!

I literally cannot believe how rubbish this product is. Wireless? Useless more like. It keeps getting "lost" somewhere - every time I try to use it it will work for two, maybe three pages - and then it just disappears: the computer can't find it, it's gone. And then, miraculously, with no rhyme or reason it will start working again when it feels like it, sometimes minutes, sometimes hours later.

Anyone who's ever picked up a guitar and played in a band will relish this book. Full of amusing anecdotes from the early days in Glasgow through to meeting and playing with some of the biggest names in rock music, this is a delightful journey through mayhem and madness with a massive helping of fun and laughter along the way. Graham is a master story-teller as well as a first-class musician. Well worth a read for all accountants, lawyers, electricians, plumbers, builders and people from all sorts of backgrounds who've ever dreamed of fame, fortune and fornication as a result of their ability to play two and a half chords without their fingers bleeding. Fantastic.

2.0 out of 5 stars Slightly disappointed, 14 July 2010

This book is ok. Not quite what I wanted. I wanted a real "how to" guide, especially on topics such as how to change pickups. The book assumes the reader already has a pretty good understanding of all the basics, including electronics and so on. That's not true in my case so I was hoping for a real "get back to basics", which I didn't get.
