3.0 out of 5 stars Classic Cronenberg but not a masterpiece, 22 April 2014
This review is from: Videodrome (DVD)
This is often cited as a masterpiece of body-horror filming by a master of the genre. It has many of Cronenberg's preoccupying themes, some great effects (for their time), a real sense of disorientation and horror, and a fine performance by James Woods.

5.0 out of 5 stars Small but perfectly formed, 7 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Much smaller than expected. Very easy to use on both acoustic and electric guitars. Only time will tell if it is robust enough to last, but at this price easily replaced. NB should not be left permanently on any guitar as sustained contact with leather, plastic or vinyl of any sort can affect the guitar's finish.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy replacement and very comfortable, 7 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not Sennheiser originals, and somewhat disconcerting to find that my headphones (HD515) were not listed as compatible on the product package despite being listed against the product on Amazon. Decided to take the risk and they fir perfectly, very comfortable and much better than the tattered old ones they replaced!

1.0 out of 5 stars Read the other reviews - it doesn't work!, 7 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Despite what it says in the details on Amazon this gadget would not connect to my iPad2 via either the USB or the card reader. Like others I should have read the reviews more carefully before purchase. The Apple version may be expensive but could be the only viable option. Avoid this!

1.5m x 5m Sewable (Swedish) Tracing Paper!
1.5m x 5m Sewable (Swedish) Tracing Paper!

4.0 out of 5 stars Sewable Swedish Paper - Result!, 25 Oct 2013
Used this paper for tracing a pattern and making a toile for a friend. Worked well - so well I forgot it was paper and tried to press the pocket seams! Both iron & pocket survived. Easy to write on, it showed from both sides which was helpful, was robust enough for several fittings and it is recyclable as paper!

It's also much easier to store than regular pattern paper but cutting out subsequent patterns was tricky due to its stretchiness. I would use it again for fitting but pattern paper and card still live in my workroom. It's a very useful adjunct.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as bad as I first thought, 2 Mar 2013

A neat cable, which did the job with an iPad2, but only produced sound and no video with an iPhone 4S (but see below). I'm not sure if the (more expensive) Apple cable will do both. REVISITING my review - it turns out that some formats are supported differently on different devices. 4oD won't play on TV at all. RAI Replay gives sound and video on iPad and only sound on iPhone. BBC iPlayer seems good on both. These things are never easy!

2.0 out of 5 stars Really bad writing, 14 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Leaving aside niggles over punctuation and lack of discipline in descriptive passages thelementary mistakes (eg in chapter 1"differences" is used for "similarities" and distance is expressed in square miles) make this a difficult and irritating read.

1.0 out of 5 stars Where are the detectives?, 28 July 2012

If a series is named after two policemen then they should have recognisable personalities and some kind of relationship. Sadly none of the characters have much of either in a "thriller" which somehow manages to be confusing and predictble at the same time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like magic, 8 Jan 2011
As a cat owner I have had long term problems with (only occasional but unpleasant) stains and smells. Other cleaners either fail to remove stains, or bleach the colours out of carpets/fabrics. I saw this on TV in a comparison and it won by a mile. Bought some and it works just like it claims. Easy to use, removes stains without bleachign and is good for odours (in our case a neighbours cat who sprays).

1.0 out of 5 stars Dreadful - avoid at all costs, 3 Oct 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: And Winter Came (Audio CD)
I'm not especially an Enya fan, but familiar with her music. I am a fan of Christmas/Winter themed CDs with a folk/blues/roots orientation and this seemed a good one to add to the collection. Beware: most tracks are written by Enya, and she produces and plays all the instruments. The result is a technically fine CD which sounds great, but on which all the songs (bar a couple of traditional)are dreary, with little to enjoy about either the lyrics or the music. This went to Oxfam after several listens with no improvement. Get Kate Rusby's Xmas CD instead!
