5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for budget headphones, 9 Jan. 2016
I paid £12 for these. Excellent budget headphones. For the price they are very comfortable and have a useful long cable. Compared to more expensive headphones they do have more hiss and the bass is not as clear but for a budget pair of headphones these exceed expectations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good value, 19 Dec. 2015
I have a Galaxy Core Prime Model SM-G361F.
It runs on Android Operating System 5.1.1, also known as "Lollipop."

So far so good.
Easy to use, easy to install apps.

Three items of note:

THE PHONE ALARM

I was initially confused about the alarm. I used to have a Blackberry, and on that I would switch off the phone before going to sleep, in a mode that was a "Virtual Power Off" allowing for the alarm on the phone to be set for the morning, when it would sound and wake me, and in doing so switch the phone back on.
I tried this with the Galaxy and it did not sound the alarm!
But, the desired result is achieved by using "Do not disturb" mode from the Sounds sub section of the Settings screen.
This leaves the phone on, but makes sure the phone does not emit any sounds from incoming calls, emails, messages etc.
An "Exception" can be set for the alarm.
And also for selected contacts, should one so wish to be woken at 3am by their boss!

THE SCREEN

I bought a screen protector for a minimal price.

THE BATTERY

I was worried about battery life, as Blackberries have a long battery life.
I am OK with the Samsung's battery life.
I have set the screen to minimal brightness, turned off the sounds made when I type messages, and reduced sounds made by incoming messages.
These all help prolong battery life.
The phone also has a button on the right side as one is facing the phone, which puts the phone into standby.
It still accepts incoming calls, but means the screen is switched off.
It also has a battery saving flight mode.
I estimate the phone can last a day of "medium use" without charging, more than a full day if one is not making many calls but instead doing a lot of messaging.

ONE ITEM OF COMPLAINT

The back cover of the phone is slippery.
Although the sides of the phone appear to have been made with "grip" in mind, it is alarmingly easy for the phone to slide out of one's hand.
I recommend as essential buying a case for the phone, to increase the grip.
Samsung please take note!

Easy to apply to phone screen. I had a few bubbles but they can be smoothed out using the small plastic card which comes with the product. A cleaning cloth also is supplied which is very useful to use before applying the protective film.

5.0 out of 5 stars Charming Docklands Guide, 24 Nov. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a charming little book. It gives a general overview of the history and current circumstances of London's Docklands and immediate hinterlands.
It is a good guide for walking the era or visiting specific sites, small and light enough to carry with on the visit, yet in depth enough to be a valuable read.
Useful for overseas or London based tourists alike.
Well written and manageable, with nice historical and current photos.
Like another review mentions, the glaring omission is a map of the area.
I can only guess that the licensing fees for a map were too expensive for the publisher.
But it is a not a major problem, as one can carry a pocket map of London.

5.0 out of 5 stars Genius mix of History and Hip Hop, 24 Oct. 2015
I write this from a Hip Hop perspective. I am always sceptical when a musical chooses to use Hip Hop/Rap, because I feel it will be distanced from the current production values and lyrical craft of hip Hop. But Hamilton does not make this mistake, instead it is contemporary. The tunes are great, the lyrics clever and tip a nod to many Hip Hop classics...on purpose.
To tell the fascinating story of politician Alexander Hamilton in such fashion was always going to be ambitious yet it exceeds all targets.
The music has stuck in my head after just one listen, the emotion conveyed is powerful without being cloying, and it has just the right amount of humour too.
It is a genius work of musical theatre, cleverly twinning the immigrant experience with the birth and early years of the USA.

5.0 out of 5 stars Daft and Fun, 24 Oct. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Pompidou [DVD] (DVD)
Gentle humour; giggly gags, funny faces, silly scenarios, juvenile jokes. An eccentric old aristo loses his stately home and schemes to get back in it. Reminds of Dick Emery, refreshing to see older less rude humour in a modern context. It is daft, and all the better for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Five Mic Classic, 11 Sept. 2015
One of the best Hip Hop albums ever made.
It really is that excellent.
Not just lyrically clever, but perfection in delivery. Musically it harks back to P Funk but brings modern production values. With a touch of Jazz thrown in courtesy of Robert Glasper. A variety of tempos, from Club Funkers to indoor Headnodders.
It is zeitgeist, a musical capture of America's current race struggles. But more than that, it takes the listener through the mind of Kendrick and is his potted autobiography.
Listen with care...it is a powerful and moving experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Utterly gripping, 6 Sept. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Fantastic.
The characters develop, the story progresses, and the music rolls on.
This has not had the publicity or profile of The Wire, but it is every bit as good, in some ways better because it contains more characters that ordinary people can relate too.
It is full of nuance, and that is it's strength.
I was really drawn into it.
