5.0 out of 5 stars End here, 1 Jan 2013

Odysey & Oracle mono & stereo, with related singles tracks and unreleased album. And you thought you had bought everything by them when you got the box set! This is the way to buy the Zombies, and the mono O&O is just filler. Great sound quality, but where is the Live album and the reunion album?

The earliest Zombies album & singles tracks, all together on two great discs. If you only want everything, this is where to start.

This is a better cd than the live Zombies, even if it is just a straight reissue of 1993's Live At The BBC. It shows Colin with more energy, singing the songs the way they were meant to be sung, with more spirit than you'll probably ever hear again. Sure, these are 70's & 80's & early 90's shows, so it's mostly earlier material (one song even has Argent backing him).

I have been a fan since the last sixties, had all his albums on vinyl at one time, and am enjoying everything reissued on cd. This is a short but very sweet late period concert (only 7 songs), but there are Djank-Fjeld-Andersen live bootlegs out there that continue the story. Great work from a master craftsman, still going strong.

5.0 out of 5 stars The lost piece of Iain Matthews History, 1 Jan 2013

I have had these albums for years, made my own copy for cdr years ago. Now I have 2 brand new copies on vinyl, just waiting for me to convert to cd, but I got the first reissue of this cd, without the dvd. I love these two albums and the bonus tracks were all I was looking for, but the new release has more bonus tracks and a dvd of the concert for the demo album. This what the one I bought was advertised as but no dvd when it got here. I was just happy to get this, having been out of print for several years. Now I suppose I'll have to spring for the new release for the extra bonus tracks and the dvd. Such is life.

4.0 out of 5 stars Colin Blunstone too busy with Zombies?, 1 Jan 2013

Too many songs are repeats, either ones he'd done before on a solo album or on a Zombies album. I'd like to see the reissue of Planes and Late Nights In Soho.

I haven't seen the Zombies 40th Anniversary show of Odyssey & Oracle but this will do in the meantime. I haven't watched the dvd yet, but the music is exquisitely played, as always. A live greatest hits of the Zombies, Argent, and Colin Blunstone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Roy Harper at his best, 1 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not just another greatest hits show but it shows just how great a treasure Roy is to the world. &0 years old and sounding just as good as 20 years ago. If you have Once, you know the show. There's only one grade to put on any RH show - excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Seger is Live & Early Seger, 8 Dec 2012

11 minutes longer & 2 extra songs than the bootleg I've had of this show for over 20 years. This release has better sound, better choice of material, and better playing than his other live discs. This is a first rate recording of this show and I'm only on the second song! I saw this same band 8 or 9 months before this show and about 8 months after, but a lot had happened in the meantime. The first was in a little bar in Kalamazoo Michigan, where there wasn't even a dance floor; the second time was opening for Dave Mason in a huge college gymnasium in Grand Rapids Michigan, in between 7 & Beautiful Loser. The difference was plain to anyone who bothered to listen. This show catches Bob & the band just making that big step to superstardom, midstep as it were. This doesn't have Seger playing to a large stadium, like his live albums, a much more intimate show. Definitely worth getting by all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Music is fine, packaging is not., 11 May 2012

This double cd reminds me of when Paul Simon went to S. Africa and recorded with the locals down. Don't remember the name of the album but it was a big seller.
Well, this is Jackson's album of that type, only in Spain, and it works. I like the album. The only complaint I have is with the packaging. First, it arrived a week after the last date it was supposed to, I'd called Amazon almost a week after it was supposed to be here and they said they'd send another, and donate the other to charity or whatever. The packaging was 2 cds sitting in pockets in the gatefold. While I applaud the fact that they only used paper and no plastic, there needed to be a hub for the discs so they don't move around in shipment. They were all scratched up, nothing deep but still very scratched up. The music was fine, more acoustic than rockin' but two rubber hubs glued to the cardboard would make a world of difference. When the replacements arrived, they too were scratched, altho not as much as the late arrival was. And there was no way to contact the record company. It seems they don't have an office or phone, just a website and thats it.
Love your music, Jackson & David & everyone on the discs, but it's pointless if they arrive all scratched. Unless thats the idea - then you have to buy more? but then you're wasting a whole lot more than just some plastic. Rant over.
