FurReal Hop 'n Cuddle Bunnies - Tan
FurReal Hop 'n Cuddle Bunnies - Tan
Offered by toysmania
Price: £13.97

1.0 out of 5 stars The sounds it makes are quite cute but this does not make up for the overall poor quality., 2 Feb. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a lovely idea but so badly made that it disappoints from the first moment. The fur is cheap and glue can be seen sticking through it. The bunny does not hop in circles but makes one random hop and then gives up. The legs do not go back into position so it doesn't hop more than once. The sounds it makes are quite cute but this does not make up for the overall poor quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very comfortable and good sound protection, 13 Jan. 2014
I felt I should offer a different opinion about this product. I have found them to be the best earplugs for me. I use them for sleeping and find they are comfortable and block out a good amount of sound. I think it depends on the size and shape of your ears, what works for you, but I can only recommend these. They are also washable at least once.

Cake and Biscuit Recipes (The classic step-by-step series)
Cake and Biscuit Recipes (The classic step-by-step series)

2.0 out of 5 stars Be very careful this is not for beginner cooks!, 18 Aug. 2011
This book is well laid out with clear to follow pictures and has some lovely recipes in it. BUT. BE CAREFUL! The book either hasn't be proof-read, or very badly proof-read and is littered with mistakes. One cake recipe calls for 2ml of milk...... Fine if you know what you are doing and can see it is a mistake, but not good if you are a complete beginner and relying on accurate recipes. Another biscuit recipe I tried called for Golden Syrup in the list of ingredients, and then failed to mention the stuff again! Who knows if the error was in the list of ingredients or the method.
Cooking times, certainly with my cooker, which is a very normal basic one, need to be taken with a pinch of salt. What she doesn't say is to take biscuits out of the oven before they are crunchy. If you cook as she suggests, you will end up with burnt biscuits.
So, nice recipes but the proof-reader (if there was one) should be given the sack!

Lumie Bodyclock Advanced 200 Wake-up Light Alarm Clock
Lumie Bodyclock Advanced 200 Wake-up Light Alarm Clock

3.0 out of 5 stars Great product but poor build quality, 16 Aug. 2010
I have had 2 of these clocks. The design is pleasing to the eye and the light works well. However, both of mine have gone wrong within 2 years. The first one I had the press - buttons broke. Impossible to replace and rendering an otherwise functioning light useless. The second one still has a good light up and down function and as yet functioning buttons but the alarm has ceased to work and the light on its own is not enough to wake you up.
I wouldn't be without a daylight simulator to get me up. As a severe sufferer of SAD it really helps all year round BUT: THIS IS NOT A LIGHT-THERAPY LIGHT-BOX and should not be used as such. It should be used in combination with a proper light-box.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for making unique books for babies and children, 21 Jun. 2010
This book is fantastic. A good quality card, white surface and well bound. Just let your imagination go create unique birthday and Christmas gifts for babies and children. I made 3 - one each for my niece and nephew for their first birthday and one for my son for his second birthday. Great fun for me and wonderful keepsakes for the children. Everyone at the party commented on how wonderful the books were. I will definitely buy them again!

2.0 out of 5 stars common sense - so why pay?, 28 Jan. 2009
This is a well-written, well laid out book which covers some problems you might have with sleep, but not all. The advice is sound because it is common sense. So why pay good money for a book that states the obvious? If you really have no self-confidence in your own judgement then maybe this book will help, but for the rest of us, just use your head! Disappointing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good content, lousy editing, 6 Sept. 2008
If you are the type that is easily annoyed by spelling errors, typos and the like, then steer clear of this book. It's a shame that there are so many errors as the content is good. In one part the conversion from grams to lbs is even wrong - they miss the 0 off the end of the gram number, so as to make it ridiculous!
Content-wise the book is divided into short easy to read chapters which as an exhausted brain-dead new mother you can absorb. Some sound advice. Despite the editing errors, I would still recommend the book.

Baby's First Year (Everything You Need to Know About...)
Baby's First Year (Everything You Need to Know About...)
by Helen Francis
Edition: Paperback

3.0 out of 5 stars Reasonable content, lousy editing, 6 Sept. 2008
A very easy to read book (for example whilst breast-feeding) divided into short chapters with some good advice and tips. Read, digest and then choose what you agree with and what you don't! The main problem with this book is the AWFUL - or maybe non-existent editing. There are typos, spelling mistakes and grammatical errors which are annoying and somewhat make one lose faith in the content of the book. However, given that it is an easy read with some sensible advice, I would say grit your teeth and try to ignore the errors.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent Green Man book, 16 Mar. 2007
A very easy to read book written in an informative but interesting style. The authors certainly know their stuff, and each chapter explores a different English folk history and how it could be linked to the Green Man. They don't make any unsupported statements (unlike Ms. Basford in her book), and give a broad-minded and rounded review of the Green Man, his history and possible meaning. The photos are largely well produced black and white shots of Green Men in England. The Gazetter at the back is not at all comprehensive but does give an introduction to where the more well known Green Men in England can be found. An excellent introduction to the subject and a must for anyone interested in the Green Man.

3.0 out of 5 stars A very one sided approach but some great photos, 16 Mar. 2007
This review is from: The Green Man (Paperback)
If you are looking for a gazetter of Green men not just in England, then this is a great book. It is mainly photos, nicely produced black and white shots, with informative captions about each. Listed are Green Men as far afield as Istanbul, and there are entries for France and Germany too.

The short (14 page) essay at the start does give some useful factual information on early Green Men, where they are and how the images developed in churches through the centuries. Also on how they differed in England and France. However, it is an incrediably one-sided argument. She gives only the Christian viewpoint, indeed perhaps only her Christian view point and totally dimisses any other theories. If you want to learn a little more on other arguments about what is represented by the Green Man, I recommend "The Green Man in Britain" by Geoff and Fran Doel. Poor old Green Man - he get's a bit of a rough deal from Ms. Basford.
