Unfortunately this book was too young for the person concerned but am sure you would find it interesting in the right situation

As far as I am concerned this is a good story of fiction. However I am sure that there were plenty of intrigues in this situation which are port raid in this book

3.0 out of 5 stars Rather disappointing, 26 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I don't know what I was expecting but this was rather disappointing as we know so very little of what is called'the dark ages' and I found this more imaginative than factual, particularly in the naming of places - not quite what I expected from this author

Hopefully somebody will give these bones a decent burial as he was so well thought of in Yorkshire in the times of his brother Edward IV. Well done to the sleuths.

4.0 out of 5 stars Did he or Did'nt he ?, 15 Jan 2014

Richard III was reputedly nowhere near London when this crime was supposedly committed but had he sanctioned it or were the enemies of the Woodvilles the real culprits?. Whatever the case for whomsoever ruled England, Richard or Henry VII, their throne could never have felt safe. I only hope that in the future the bones found in the Tower will be genetically examined as we now have the genes of Richard and these could lead to the answer to the bones of the children ?was Edward IV their father.

5.0 out of 5 stars A virtually unknown Queen who is so important, 15 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Elizabeth of York (Kindle Edition)
I had no knowledge of this queen as she rates veery little in English history taught in the schools in my time. I found this a very well researched book which was both interesting and full of facts about a time which was the foundation of all our modern history and which deserves to be read with this in mind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Richard's life for the last few months of his life, 19 Oct 2013

There have been all sorts of stories about this man, but whatever he did he was doing for his future and whoever thinks about his own mortality when alive ? He was extremely well thought of in the Northern parts of Britain round about his main castle of Middleham and in the city of York where there are Richard 111 societies to this day. The amount of work this author put into the writing of this tome is impressive and I am glad to find that his work has reached a satisfactory conclusion in the finding of the Canadian DNA. I shall look forward to seeing the programme on TV tonight here in Australia. Rosemary

5.0 out of 5 stars new knowledge, 10 Aug 2013

Following the find of Richards' body this book has been a very very interesting and well resourced bookwhich I have ever read on this subject. It has carefully followed Henry Richmond throughout his exile in France and the fate of Richard in England. From being the faithful brother of Edward IV holding the fort from Middleham he somehow lost the plot when, encouraged by Catesbey he elevated himself to be the King thereby losing the sympathy of the South of England and the following rebellion of Buckingham. The loss of his son and wife must have had some bearing on his mind when he charged Henry and his bodyguard at Bosworth - a self destruct action or depression? to finish things once and for all. I only hope that events will lead to the finding out exactly who is/are buried in Westminster under the present guise of being the two boys that were murdered in the Tower. Rosemary
