5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Fabulous Album - A Hit, 30 Dec. 2013
Cliff is in terrific voice on his 100th album which demonstrates his love for the classic music of the fifties and early sixties. Don't write it off as just a covers album though. Cliff breathes fresh life into songs that we have heard so many times over the years and, in some cases, like Don't Let Go, he is probably introducing many to terrific songs that are not as well known as those made famous by Elvis, Little Richard and Buddy Holly, etc.

The album thoroughly deserved its Gold Disc for selling over 100,000 copies. What an incredible achievement for a 73 year old artist who has been cutting it for 55 years seeing off all challengers throughout his career. I wonder how many hit albums the current crop of pop stars will be having in ten years never mind thirty or forty years.

The vast majority of comments on here show that there is a place for Cliff in today's music scene alongside the so-called cool contemporary artists.

Hail hail rock 'n' roll and Cliff and onwards to The Fabulous Rock 'n' Roll Songbook Volume 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superstar Strikes The Right Chord, 14 Nov. 2005
This review is from: Platinum Collection (Audio CD)
EMI's decision to showcase 74 tracks that have all made the UK Top 15 over a span of 47 years clearly demonstrates what the 'knockers' try to deny. Cliff Richard is not simply a star, he is a superstar in an era where that term has been devalued to describe much lesser artists with two or three hit songs in their catalog.
For fans updating their collection of Cliff to CD or latecomers to the tremendous talent that is Cliff, this represents great value.
