1.0 out of 5 stars Irritating in the Extreme, 29 Jun. 2015
If there is every a case of the emperors new clothes then this is it . And immensely irritating ( don't get me started on the drumming; wtf was that about?) unbelievable film and a complete and utter waste of some considerable acting talent

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice chilled sound with a good groove, 2 Aug. 2014
This review is from: First to Cry [12" VINYL] (Vinyl)
Nice chilled sound with a good groove. The vocalist doesn't seem to be trying to hard (which is a good thing actually as the songs about repressed emotion!). Superb guitar part comes in later to liven things up a bit. Bears repeated plays..... If you want the vinyl (which is a nice 180g pressing!) hurry because it's a 300 copies only numbered job!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sensational!, 7 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
All you need to know is if you like Stereolab you will like this; the only difference between this and a good recent Stereolab album is that Laetita's vocal are higher in the mix.

1.0 out of 5 stars LIES LIES AND MORE LIES, 16 Jan. 2008
This book is a sick joke. The author is an apologist for the Ne-facist Croats and barbarous fundamentalist Muslims who started the Balkan conflict by ethnically cleansing Serbs from Croatia and Bosnia. I urge you to read Fools Crusade ( available on Amazon) if you want the real truth about the destruction of multi ethnic socialist Yugoslavia.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE TRUTH THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH, 17 Feb. 2007
The reviewer who gave this excellent book one star, has trotted out the same old ant-serb propoganda without doing their own research. It's obvious that they haven't actually read the book!. The quisling Natasha Kandic's organisation is funded by the US and it is they who gave her the video, which was shown at the Hague trial. The video in question was obviously doctored, For instance the time and date at the bottom of the video kept changing or (disappearing altogether!). The reviewer said that the 8,000 Bosnian Muslims allegedly killed at Srbrencia had been "confirmed" confirmed by whom? The original figure that the Red Cross gave (and this is where the generally accepted, but false figure is derived from) was 7,000 MISSING, this includes those who managed to reach the Muslim lines at Tusla. The Bosnian Muslims refused to give any figures to the Red Cross in regard to those who reached Tusla. There is evidence that some Muslim men were executed at Srbrencia in revenge for the countless attacks against Serb villages around Srbrencia, probably by paramilitaries or mercenaries (a Croat mercenary admitted taking part at the Hague Tribunal and was later released-for falsely testifying against Milosevic!). The 7-8,000 figure is not supported by the bodies exhumed in the Srbrencia area. The dead are mainly a mixture of Muslims and Serbs killed in fighting over three years. If it's the truth about the break up of multi-ethnic Yugoslavia that you are after, then read this book along with John Laughland's "Travesty" about the Milosevic Trial (the paperback is on sale at Amazon.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Milosevic - Antidote to media demonisation, 5 Aug. 2006
Excellent book. Contains the whole of Slobodan Milosevic's opening statement at The Hague War Crimes Tribunal. As the trial progressed it became increasingly apparant that there was no real evidance against Milosevic, and that the US financed and controlled tribunal were just attempting to justify their illegal bombing of Serbia in 1999. The case against Milosevic was unproven when he died in suspicious (to say the least!) circumstances in March this year. Now Kosovo is a basket case ( drug running Central!) and will only get worse if independence is granted. Please read this book to counteract the years of anti- Milosevic/Serb bias that you have been fed by the western media. THE TRUTH WILL OUT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Alles ist gut, 28 Jan. 2005
This review is from: Radio-Activity (Audio CD)
Ignore the "disappointed" review. He is obviously someone who came to Kraftwerk late, heard the re-worked Radiocativity in concert and on the "Mix" album, and felt the warm analogue 1975 version not to his taste. The truth is both versions are truly excellent and the rest of the Radiocativity album is brilliant too, especially Antenna which is sonically amazing for a 1975 recording. Kraftwerk's sly humour is in evidence hear on "ohmm sweet ohmm - (who said our teutonic cousins have no sense of humour!.) Admitedley, Radioactiity is not "up there" with with Trans Europe Express & Computer World , but if you have good taste you will want to own all of Kraftwek's (from autobahn onwards) albums anyway!

5.0 out of 5 stars Instumental Gold!, 7 May 2004
This review is from: New Love (Audio CD)
Melbourne's Silver Ray, along with the equally excellent Texan's Explosions in the Sky, share the same quiet to loud, quiet again then VERY LOUD sound as Godspeed YBE, but their music is more richly textured, and although feroucis at times, occupies a more optimistic terrain than GSYBE ( you can tell from the song titles "New Love (all 17+ mins of it!), Burning Romance, You Set Me Free). Their music is all about tension and release. Although Silver Ray are only a trio (playing guitars, Piano/Organ, drums), they are augmented on the album by guests on sax, trombone, cello, along with a male voice chior( featured on the fantastic opening track, Burning love - 12mins 44 Secs of beauty and power). I bought this album on the strengh of a rave review and I wasn't dissapointed, and I'm absolutely sure you won't be if you purchase it too. I really can't recommended this album highly enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars still crazy after all these years, 11 Dec. 2003
This review is from: The Eye (Audio CD)
The 14th album by these ageing Swiss Millionaire Playboys - and one of their best. The Eye is worth buying for the incredible opening track alone, Planet Dada . The Eye rejoices in Yello's usual superb production standards and unlike the slightly dissapointing "Eccentrix" & "Motion Picture ( both released in 1999) there are some great tunes on this album. Brilliantly inventive techo music, minimalist existential lyrics, all the Yello trademarks are here in abundance. A nice treat for established fans and also a great starting point ( along with Excess..., Stella and One Secound) for the uninitiated.
