3.0 out of 5 stars Rope bag., 5 Sept. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The bag itself is big enough for a day on the crag with ample space. It is comfortable on youre back but the shoulder straps could do with more padding for comfort. The bag itself just needs a little more thought I.E the straps on the side are too small and the straps on the back are too big for them to be of any use, velcro needs to be added to get rid of any straps hanging down from the day sack itself.
Overall an average daysack cheap and plenty of space inside it hopefully with a little work done to it could be really good.

2.0 out of 5 stars Year Zero, 12 July 2007
This review is from: Year Zero (Audio CD)
I was really excited to hear there was a new NIN album on the way and the idea of it sounded good(based 15 years in the future), but it just does not work. Lyrically they needed a change in direction being pissed of all the time does not work when you are not pissed off like "With Teeth" showed prime example "You know what you are". So the idea sounded good but on listening to the album you dont really know what he is going on about most of the songs. Guitars and live drums are near enough non exsistent, it all sounds like a computer crashing on most tracks. There are some exceptions though "hyperpower" starts the album of really well with a good mix of heavy drums and great guitar work and keeps building up steadly until it just seems to cave in on its own heavyness. "Survavilism" is a really catchy song with a great chrous, which i am sure will have most people singing along. After that the album seems to just plod along with stupid computer like songs until "capital g" comes on which is a really good song and a great choice for a 2nd single. Yet again the album plods along until "meet your master" which has some catchy parts to it. The album ends really strong as most NIN albums to but overall a major dissapointment. I thought maybe after a good few listens it would really grow on me but it didn't at the end of the day i was just not impressed by this album at all. NIN need to bring in the heavy drums and heavy guitars like on albums like "The downward spiral","The fragile" and "Broken" which most people will agree were there best efforts really exceptional albums. The whole album just sounds like an annoying virus has been put on the cd and it is not really appealing at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sex, drugs and rock n roll!!!, 26 July 2006
This review is from: Mechanical Animals (Audio CD)
Marilyn manson said that the albums Antichrist superstar, Mechanical animals and Holywood were a story back to front meaning Holywood is the first. Holywood basically being a typical rock album with great tracks and meaning the title Manson wanting to make it Hollywood. The second album Mechanical animals is Manson being the rockstar and being the celebrity and living the sex, drugs rock n roll lifestyle especially the drugs example songs such as the 'the dope show','i dont like the drugs(but the drugs like me) and Coma white. This whole album is Manson singing about the fame and being a celebrity(New model no 15). This album is very different from Antichrist superstar musically and lyrically that being basically and full on heavy metal album and straight to the point lyrics. Here we find the band writing melodies and even bringing the acoustic guitars and doing ballads 'the speed of pain' and it all works great. The guitar is defiantly and improvment using it at the write times 'the dope show' is a great example of this delaying the guitar until the chorus then on the last chorus bringing lead guitar fills over the top it works brilliantly. A very melodic album and manson seems to deliver his words better giving better vocal hooks and his singing suiting the music better. People rarely talk about this album most people dont mention it at all as you can tell by the amount of reviews written on it, people seem to think Antichrist superstar is his best but i personally think this is his best work. Its comes to the bands time were they need a musical change in direction, a point which all bands come to and dont always pull it off and this is Mansons and its there finest hour!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Music!!!!, 17 April 2006
This review is from: Bubblegum (Audio CD)
I bought this album after getting really into qoftsa hoping to here some of the same type of music on here but qoftsa its not. I was not expecting a great deal from the album itself but what a shock i got. This has to be the greatest album of 2004 easily. This is one of those albums were its goals are set high with loads of collabirations(Duff Mckagan, Izzy Stradlin, Nick Olivera, Josh Homme, PJ Harvey etc) it really wants to be one of thoses really great albums. There is not a set style to the music ranging from acoustic ballads, industrial, heavy rock, country and every single one works. Mark Lanegans voice is just one of the best voices you have ever heard as im sure you have heard. Not a bad song on the album but for me my favourites are Hit the city with its great drum and bass grove and PJ Harvey lending some vocals,Methamphetamine Blues is the heaviest on the album i think it just has a filthy stomp to it loads of lead guitar going on and one of the best bass lines i have heard, Sideways in reverse was the 1st single from the album and is probably a good introduction just straight to the point rock and roll with some great guitar and drums theres apart when the solo speeds up then theres a pounding of the drums and the solo just goes all messed up great music, Come to me has some brilliant guitar licks by Josh Homme and Mark Lanegan and PJ Harvey sing together great its a really dark song in which the album has a few of, like little willie john is just a great country song sang amazingly by Lanegan one of the many highlights, Head another great song opens up with this great anthem of a riff and again is another highlight,Driving Death Valley Blues just has qoftsa all over it just imagine go with the flow with lanegan vocals and thats what you have hear really great music. There my highlights on the album but there is not a bad song on here and after bying this i have become a big fan of lanegans work purchasing myself some Screeming trees albums and loving them also. I have to say though in a time were rock music is like this with such great bands as qoftsa, nin, interpol, white stripes, pearl jam, velvet revolver this album is over shadowed and will be missed by alot of people which is a shame because this is a real gem of an album and one of the all time favourites.

If you look at whos in the band you would think it cannot fail and so far i have seen no evidence of it failing. The songs which i have heard are all the first class. The first song i heard was set me free which shows why every body in the band before scott weiland joined chose to pick scott weiland it shows how great he is and creating those really catchy vocal hooks just listen to the chorus and you will know what i mean. Set me free is a first class rocker with some great riffs and vocal hooks to go with it. The second song i heard was slither the first single to be lifted from the album which has an amazing riff to it in which all the guitarists and bass play this huge riff and i was just blown away by it! Once again some catchy vocal hooks by scott weiland and a great solo by slash to boot. Then the third song i heard was you got no right! and i just thought to myself can this band do anything wrong this is more of a rock ballad with a very strong melody to it, it is said to be the only acoustic song on the album. Its not acoustic all the way mind you slash does come with a couple of great solos which just tops the song off. I think out of the three i heard i liked you got no right best because it is more of a mellow song and really there the songs i enjoy listening to most. It may be strange to say it but this band does not sound like guns and roses or stone temple pilots they sound like velvet revolver a new rock band thats hopefully going to be around for a long time. Of course you can still hear elements of guns and roses and stone temple pilots in there but they are sort of blended together to make velvet revolver. Theres also a sex pistols cover on the album called bodies really just as a bonus feature. And if you are still wondering why i called the title return of the king its because im talking about slash he has been away from the music scene for a while tv wise. So im glad to seem him back and the other members of guns and roses duff mcckagan and matt sorum and unrecognised guitarist dave kusher who plays rythm guitar. Ive been waiting a long time for this album lets just hope it does not fail!

This was the last of the films in which i watched i always heard about it. It was highley praised so i thought i would just buy it before watching it and i dont regret doing that. The other films are really action/adventure films in which aliens is the best it is one of my favourite films of all time. The thing that makes alien brilliant is it is more like a thriller it is by far the scariest of the lot because on the other films you know when the aliens are going to come out. The alien on the first one still looks brilliant if you were to put it up against todays special effects it will still be up there it is trually amazing the way the creature looks and the film is 25 years old. Each death scene is amazing as well as scary and then theres the legendary scene in which the alien comes out kanes stomach. The performances are brilliant by each actor and the direction is first class when you watch the behind the scenes you really see what ridley(director) was going for in this film. Another stand out is the visuals such as shots from in space of the spaceship and the planet in which they land on and you can see the building it looks trually haunting and then when they go inside it, it looks amazing. The scene were you see a man straped to what looks like a gun. Critics would often talk about this part of the film in which there could be a sequel for it so you could find out what really happend at this place. There are many hours of behind the scenes showing back from the original script. I would buy this film if you are a fan of sci-fi horrors for definat but be warned dont be thinking it will be anything like the other films this is a horror not a action film and it does start of slow but just give it time.

Silverchair are compared alot to nirvana well they use to be anyway. I am a big fan of Nirvana but for me they are a bit overated they first album bleach is pretty poor, Nevermind only made it big because of Smells like teen spirit and Incesticde was also pretty poor and how can Kurt Cobain be rated as one of the greatest guitarists of all time he was a great songwriter but he was nether an excepitional guirtarist. On this album you can find better work than most of the things Nirvana did. To say they were only 15 when they did this is remarkble, pure genius, nearly impossible. The music is so intelligant it is mind bogling the lyrics are first rate the guitar is exceptional and the bass and drums make a good rythm section. The vocals are also amazing for a 15 year old to do this is just amazing. I discovered this band by listening to an antique rock show on a channel called scuzz were the video tommorow was and i though it was first class so i went an bought the album and there is some class songs on it Israels son, Tommorow, Shade and Findaway are the standout tracks the lyrics have so much meaning Daniel Johns must have had a terrible childhood you can see this from songs like Shade and Sucidal dream. For performance i would give this album 100% they truly gave there all on this record and it payed off. With these being compared to Nirvana alot i would probably say these were better, I like Nirvana i really do but i can admit they were overated im sure if Daniel Johns were to kill himself there records would become big because i have to be honest thats what made Nirvana big Kurt Cobains suicide and the single Smells like teen spirit which is not even there best single. The music is a bit like Nirvana but you can see influences from other bands like Metallica and Alice in Chains and who by the way are probably the greatest band of all time you compare Jerry Cantrell to Kurt Cobain and for me its no contest Jerry Cantrell wins hands down. It really gets me mad how Silverchair are a better band that Nirvana but they do not get the attention Nirvana did but maybe they dont want it and lets face it that is usally what breaks bands up for example Guns and Roses one of the greatest rock bands of all time they became to big Axel Rose started making more money than the rest and they just fell apart. Silverchair trully give there all on this album and it will only get appreciated by the few millon unlike the tens of millons Nirvana get and with the crap whats coming out today like Avril Lavigne thinking shes a punk and Evenesance thinking there goths its all for the money now not the music you get bands like Silverchair, Pearl jam, Alice in chains working there asses of and making music that really means something and they dont get noticed. Then someone like Avril Lavigne realeses a few pop songs and sells over ten millon records. Were as Silverchair etc will only sell a few millon its albums like Rage against the machine, Korn, Alice in chains dirt that really are the greatest albums you may never hear! If you have read up to hear let me say thankyou! and if i havent made you click on add to basket i dont know what will!

What is seen as Pearl Jams best and one of the all time greatest rock albums what should stop you from buying it NOTHING! this is one brilliant album and if you are just getting into Pearl Jam this is probably wear i would start it gives you an overall look at there sound. The album is mostly filled with rock songs such as once, why go, even flow etc but it has some amazing ballads on here such as Jeremy seen as one of the greatest songs ever Black seen by the fans of Pearl Jams as one of their greatest songs and Release a brilliant way to finish the album if you dont include the bonus tracks which to be honest are a bit filler but they were not initaly meant for the album there just bonus tracks. The album also includes Alive which is one of my favourite songs ever it has a riff that Pearl Jam has yet to match and a solo which is my favourite of all time, the song itself is seen as one of the greatest ever made. So if your just getting into Pearl Jam by this first but to me this is not there best work its just a good place to start. The other albums never got as much praise as this probably because after the success of the album Pearl Jam as a band did not like the attention but they still to this day continue to release brilliant music.
