5.0 out of 5 stars The hottest pop band around!, 27 Nov. 2004
Girls Aloud's debut album "Sound Of The Underground" was simply amazing. The first three singles were fabulous, and the rest of the album was full of electro-pop gems and packed with attitude. Almost two years later and the Girls are back with "What Will The Neighbours Say?", and thankfully it is another great offering!
As a whole the set is slightly less convincing than their debut album, a couple of tracks don't really stand out ("Real Life" and "Big Brother" sound like songs that didn't get picked up for their previous album), but even when the songs are not incredibly infectious, the production and the lyrics make up for it. The rest of the album is incredibly efficient : opening track "The Show" is arguably their best single to date, "Love Machine" has a delicious retro feel, and their second UK chart-topper "I'll Stand By You" is a great ballad, though not their most creative song to date. Other standouts include "Here We Go", the beautiful ballad "Hear Me Out", as well as "Graffiti My Soul".
All in all, it more than lives up to the expectations, and confirms that the Girls are one of the hottest and most talented pop bands around. Girl Power is alive!

2.0 out of 5 stars Soooo disappointed!!, 12 Nov. 2004
This review is from: Destiny Fulfilled (Audio CD)
I was sooo glad the girls were coming back together for a new album 'cause I thought it'd never happen. Their previous album "Survivor" was in my opinion one of the best R&B albums ever and after I heard "Lose My Breath" I was sure the girls still had what it takes to rule the R&B scene.
But after I listened to all the tracks a few times, I am sure I won't even buy it. Beyonce's solo album was full of fillers but there were some gems that made up for it, but after listening to "Destiny Fulfilled", I'm left wondering what the hell they spent their time doing while in the studio cause it's just bad. The songs are not catchy, it's all mid-tempo slushy R&B-lite ballads, except the aforementioned "Lose My Breath" (an amazing come-back single) and the forthcoming single "Soldier"... Their voices still shine but it's hard to get excited about the songs themselves.
Three years ago they were on top of the world, but now I almost wish they never came back together...

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific single from a terrific band!, 29 Sept. 2003
This review is from: Jumpin' [CD 2] (Audio CD)
I must say I was quite stunned to see Liberty X's "Being Nobody" fail to top the charts back in March, as I thought it was a fantastic cover of a great song. It has taken the band six months to follow up that great hit, six months they spent finishing their UK tour and working on their new album. And one single listen to "Jumpin" shows the wait has been worth it!
Just like the aforementioned "Being Nobody" and their only chart-topper to date, "Just A Little", this brand new single is another pop/R&B gem. The track is uptempo, energetic and catchy as hell. The production is absolutely faultless, with a "live" edge to it provided by real drums and eletric guitars and the band's vocals are simply amazing! Hopefully the track will well take them back to the top of the UK charts, which they truly deserve!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, 29 Sept. 2003
This review is from: Maybe (Audio CD)
Emma's first solo album "A Girl Like Me" was a good pop record but it lacked that special thing that could differentiate her from all the endless list of MOR pop/rock female artists, like Kym Marsh, Appleton and all the others... Then her last single "Free Me" arrived, with its bond-esque strings and deliciously retro feel, and hopes were high that Emma had found her way and her identity. Now, with the release of "Maybe", it seems Emma is definitely back for good.
"Maybe" is the second single from Emma's forthcoming album "Simply Me", and finds her turning the clock back to the 60's! The song is catchy as hell, the production is minimalistic yet incredibly good, and the amazing video fits the song perfectly. Emma is now in a league of her own, and could well end up as the most successful solo Spice, which wasn't quite what many expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, 26 Feb. 2001
"Whole Again" is the new single from Atomic kitten, and has now stayed at the top of the UK charts for 4 weeks. And when you hear it, it's no surprise : the track is a great ballad whit great lyrics, and show the girls can truly sing! And the departure of Kerry doesn't seem to be an obstacle to them conquering the world! Watch out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nearly perfect!, 10 Dec. 2000
This review is from: Honey To The B (Audio CD)
Billie has hit the UK top 3 with each of the four singles she's released. She reached no.1 with her first single "Because We Want To" and her second one "Girlfriend", and two times no.3 with "She Wants You" and the amazingly beautiful "Honey To The Bee", which struck silver in the UK. The album is worth the price just for this song and the others are very good too (listen to the fabulous "I Dream").
Even if it's not been a best seller, this album is just great, with happy pop, r&b, and sometimes ballads. I swear I love it. Don't hesitate!
