4.0 out of 5 stars soft leather, 31 Dec 2011

This address book is smaller than I would expect for the price, but the leather is so soft, and the 'tie' is a great idea. This was a christmas present, and the aubergine colour was loved by its recipient! The range of colour selection is good - I don't know how it will compare to other address books on inner pages ie: space for addresses etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars A true Hero, 31 Jan 2011

As said by another reviewer before me - 'I was speechless' at the end of this book: both because of the heartbreaking childhood in 1950's/60's Glasgow [worse than "Angela's Ashes"], and because of the incredible resilience and bravery of David Whelan. It is a beautifully written book, and difficult to put down. "No More Silence - David Whelan" deserves to be on the book list of all those who work with children in any capacity, and should be compulsory reading for all of the law enforcement and law makers in our country. Thank you David, for writing this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good food!, 5 May 2010

Love this book - brought back memories of my childhood in West Indies - the language, the colours, the smells. Recipes are easy to follow, and many can be tweaked to individual taste, without too much compromise. Friends have all commented on "delicious food". I am delighted that Levi has put the spotlight on Caribbean food so successfully and am looking forward to cooking many more of the dishes. [One does not have to be West Indian to enjoy this book.]

5.0 out of 5 stars animal vocabulary, 14 Sep 2009

a good book for boosting vocabulary - and particularly for children with special needs. Photographs are clear and recognisable, and children find them more "edgy" than the usual illustrations. This book also reinforces the meaning of "Who", as opposed to "What" [inanimate objects]. A partner for the book "What's That?"[ASIN:1852920017 What's That? (Campbell Big Board Book)]

A good book for the young child, to encourage vocabulary building. Excellent, easily recognisable photographs, and therefore helpful for children with special needs.
