The Shawshank Redemption [Blu-ray]
The Shawshank Redemption [Blu-ray]
Dvd ~ Tim Robbins
Price: £6.00

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply the best!!, 20 Sep 2014
What can I say?... One of the best films I've seen, and ever made. Morgan freeman and tim Robbins, two great actors. Morgan one of my favourites. I'm not going to go on and on about this film, just watch it? As it will stay with you long after seeing it... Just like it did with me. This film was a flop at the box office , but became a cult classic after it's video release. Brilliant, just brilliant!

Child's Play 3 [Blu-ray] [Region Free]
Child's Play 3 [Blu-ray] [Region Free]
Dvd ~ Justin Whalin
Price: £11.53

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not brilliant., 9 Aug 2014
This 3rd Child's Play film was taken off the shelves and banned after the awful James Bulger murder case back in 1993. Claiming that certain scenes made the little boys killers do the awful crime after watching it a few days before. What were two 10 year olds doing watching an 18 rated film anyway? The film isn't to bad to be honest. Yes slightly more graphic than the first 2 films but didn't warrant it being an 18. Basically Andy is now 16 and in the military. Chucky is remade and it all starts over again. Not as good as the first 2, but ok.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back to the better heavier old sound., 24 Jun 2014
This review is from: The Hunting Party (Audio CD)
Ive not bought this new album as yet, but ive just gone through all the samples on itunes. All i can say is halleujah! The old heavier metal sound us old fans of LP is back. Im a HUGE fan of Hybrid Theory and Meteora, so to hear new material from the band sounding similar or the same to those albums is fantastic. For the past couple of years LP have gone down a different route sound wise. While they werent a bad listen, A Thousand Suns and Living Things were not up there with the previous albums. To electronic and just wasnt the LP i had grown to love. I know bands do sometimes change their sound sometimes, but to almost change it completely? Thousand Suns was just an album with too many sound effects mixed inbetween half decent songs for me. Thank god Mike, Chester and the rest of the band have decided to go back over 10 years to their original, and in my opinion..best sound. Youve made one original LP fan, and im sure many more very happy.......and please stick to it.

I love my music, espeically metal. The only way to describe AA is 'in yer face'. Screaming guitars riffs and vocals from Danny Worsnop. Its THE album to vent out your anger too if you've had a bad day. In the sleeve notes Danny says if you dont like the music they make, DONT LISTEN! I agree with him. Metalcore isnt for eveybody, but for people who love the harder sound, its a bloody good listen.

Ive been a fan of RE since the beginning back at the mansion, (what ever happened to Barry Burton?). Would love to see this RE character back in the game. Plus Claire Redfield and Jill Valentine, 2 great RE characters i think all fans of the series would love to see back as a main. Apart from this i love the game. Time to give Chris and Leon a rest i think.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good listen to have a god ol reminice when dance music was 'great'....unlike today,, 1 April 2014

A friend of mine had this when it wad first released back in 1994. Never did ask him to copy it for me. This reminds me of when dance music was half decent back in the 90s. Unlike the utter crap you here on the radio today. Yeah its pure euro cheese sounding, but at the time it sounded damn good! And reminds a certain generation of a time when life was that little bit easier, and people didnt take life so seriously,. To be honest i bought it for 'The Real Thing' and 'Here I Go' , which i do believe were the singles off the album, but i do like the other tracks too. I think 2 Unlimited were one of the best dance acts around back in the 90s. Who can forget 'Get Ready For This', ' and not forgetting the brilliant no no, no no no no...there's 'No Limit' ? Lol. Well, if your a bit sick of the likes of the David Guetta's, and you fancy a good 'ol trip back in time, buy this little number. Plus Anita is quite nice to look at, bit of a bonus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Album!, 1 April 2014

Just recieved this in the post today, and just finished listening to it. Im 38 and have only just got into the heavy metal/rock sound over the past few years, and are currently working my way through some classic albums that have been around for donkeys years. After hearing a couple more Iron Maiden albums inc ' Number Of The Beast' and ' Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son', i have also been kicking myself (bloody hard) at what ive been missing out on. I think as you get older you appreciate damn good music all the more...and hearing Iron Maiden and what they've produced over the past 30 odd years, you only realise what great sounding music sounds like. Im only mad that its taken me till im nearly 40 to realise this. Well, what more can i say? 14 albums (and still working my way through them), and a history that stretches over 3 decades. Keep making great music boys, and thanks for the music!

Nil By Mouth [1997] [DVD]
Dvd ~ Ray Winstone
Offered by HalfpriceDVDS_FBA
Price: £9.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Unflinching, gritty and powerful. One of the best british films ever made!, 28 Mar 2014
This review is from: Nil By Mouth [1997] [DVD] (DVD)
If your a fan of films like 'This Is England'?, no holds barred and true to life, then this is for you. Ray Winstone and Kathy Burke (in my opinion two of the finest actors this country has) give brilliant, powerful performances. Kathy ( who gave us such a hilarious comedy turn in the fab Gimmee Gimmee Gimmee, shows us just what a brilliant serious actor she is playing the domestic violence victim to Ray's character, (who scared the hell out of me!). Some scenes are hard to watch, but i think this is what makes Nil By Mouth such a great film to watch, those scenes stay with you long after youve seen them. Well there's nothing more i can really say about the film, except just buy it...you wont regret it......oh, and Jamie Foreman (Derek Branning from Eastenders) is in a few scenes, another great actor.
