4.0 out of 5 stars Fine pen, although the barrel is very thin - so not good for big hands, 24 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a fine-looking pencil that is easy to use and write with. However, the pen would've been nicer to hold and write with for longer hours had the rubber grib been bigger or the barrel thicker.

So, this pencil cannot be recommended for people with big hands or long fingers (like mine, I have to hold the pencil too loosely for comfort).

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty, colourful and user-friendly notebook/journal, 24 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This journal is quite wonderful. The paper is smooth and ink-friendly with pretty dots, so you can doodle and draw and still perfectly well. My fountain pen just flows over the paper. This notebook has many nice features such as a contents page, a pocket in the page, numbered pages so on... so it is perfect for writing a novel in or just using as a journal (which I do).

My only "complaint" is that the cover although in an exquisite turquoise is of a quite dull material and not shiny as expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Handy, handsome and useful journal, 24 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Jane Austen Journal (Diary)
This journal is handy - it is not too big nor too small. The journal can open flatly and is easy to write in. Furthermore, the paper is ink-friendly and with beautiful faint yellow lines. On about every 8th page there is a small picture from the Regency era with a matching Jane Austen quotes. I use it as a journal/diary but it would serve well as a notebook for ideas.

Great journal - a must-have if you're an Austen fan

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful - an invaluable help!, 17 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I can thoroughly recommend this book to anyone having to write a Personal Statement. This book guides you through every step with loads of valuable advice and examples so you can get a feel for the tone and content, such a text has to have.
Before reading this book the task of writing a statement seemed daunting, but this book really makes it clear what you have to do and how to do it. It teaches you to write about the right things in the right way.

Buy it!

Oxbridge Entrance: The Real Rules
Oxbridge Entrance: The Real Rules
by Elfi Pallis
Edition: Paperback

4.0 out of 5 stars Helpful but aimed at a specific audience, 17 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book contains loads of universally applicable tips and stuff. Being an international student I found many useuful tips and insider knowledge, however, I felt that this book was overly aimed towards middle and lower class British citizens, also many of the suggestions need to be carried out ages before you need to apply to Oxbridge. So, having to apply this year, this book could give me great advice on the personal statement and interview preparation but the parts on 'becoming the ideal Oxbridge student' and choosing a course were not of much use.
So, I would recommend that you buy this book at least 1 year before you have to apply, in order to really get something out of it.

It was still an interesting read though and gave me loads of insight.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice pen, great to write with although the pen's appearance was disappointing, 17 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is my first fountain pen ever, so I'm not experienced at all. But for me, this pen has been great: It is a pleasure to write with, the nib glides effortlessly across paper, the ink flow is fine, and the line isn't too wet but dries quickly. However, I was a bit disappointed by the appearance of the pen: The blue barrel looks rather cheap and not as shiny as on the picture, but it's alright.

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful preparation for the TSA test, 23 Jan. 2012

This book is definitely useful preparation for the TSA tests: with chapters on the different "skills" necessary to do well in the test, good exercises, summaries of key terms, and answers in the back this book is easily accesible and practical.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful edition with useful notes, 23 Jan. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This paperback edition of Wuthering Heights is beautiful outside and quite nice inside - the font is easy on the eyes, the notes are useful, the preface and introduction are enlightened but really it was the front cover that caught my eye: The painting on the cover captures the feeling of the Yorkshire moors and the dark feelings in the book.

This edition is good for anyone looking for a pretty and nice edition of Wuthering Heights.

IB Study Guide: Chemistry 2nd Edition (IB Study Guides)
IB Study Guide: Chemistry 2nd Edition (IB Study Guides)
by Geoffrey Neuss
Edition: Paperback

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, all theory is conscise and accessible, 2 Oct. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This study guide is perfect for reviewing topics after finishing them in class, studying for tests, and cramming in general. The msot vital knowledge from topics are summarized and written briefly, so it's conscise and easy to read. This book is definitely not a coursebook, nor a book for selfstudy or simply reading different explanations, instead it is a book for reviewing things you already know.
It is expensive for a thin book, but then it can save you time when you have to study for tests, and it also solves the problem of not having good conscise notes yourself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good companion, giving a good overall understanding of topic and assessment, 2 Oct. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This companion clearly written and gives an excellent overall understanding of this new course; it contains texts, acitivities, some theory and the most helpful was the sections on the assessment in this course with examples of written tasks, essays, etc. and examiner comments. So, while this isn't a coursebook that will give you everything you need to succeed, it gives you a good framework.
