5.0 out of 5 stars Used in a HTPC. Really is 5 stars., 15 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I really do think this APU is worth 5 stars. It's fantastic.

I decided to use this APU in a budget HTPC build to support 1080p playback. It does the job excellent and I can't give it enough praise. It's actually faster than I expected, It does slow down when it has multiple programs open at once but were talking 3-4 and even then it's only very slight - just keep the expectations realistic.

This is not a gaming CPU / Rendering machine or huge number crunching. But for office / HTPC / file server or web server it just cant be faulted at all. The on chip graphics can even handle some new game titles at 720p and emulators.

5/5 for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for Internet browsing / streaming / transfering files - No good for gaming., 6 Feb 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Not sure if it's the card or the antenna supplied but this isn't suitable for gaming at all.

I had a single antenna TP-Link card which was getting a little old, I have my router a floor above where my computer is and got 2 to 3 bars signal and the upgrade to the TP-Link TL-WN951N which got me 4 to 5 bars so it's obviously doing a better job at receiving signal. It's faster and connects at 300 Mbps and pages load faster / video's stream faster.

When it comes to games though it's not very good, Games stutter regularly with a spike of latency, the drivers on the disk are dated back in 2010 so I upgraded to the most recent release by TP-LINK and didn't really resolve much of the latency / spike problem but did get marginally better. No problems with the old card when gaming.

I would recommend it for people who are just looking for a fast card for file transfer / internet browsing / video streaming. But not gaming.

3.0 out of 5 stars I really wanted to like this game and give it 5 Stars., 19 Jan 2014

As per title, I really did want to like this game. It's the best looking game at the moment on PC and put's hardware to the limit which isn't something that often happens in todays gaming market. Even on low this game is pretty demanding in the grand scheme of PC gaming. The game is beautiful and alot of work has gone into making this game look fantastic and it really does show that DICE wanted to make this into something special.

I hate to talk about the game bugs because that's what everyone else has focused on but I feel I have too, I brought the game for PC under the impression that the last 2 major patches have solved the problems allot of people talk about and to an extent the game does work better. There are no more sound glitches, graphical bugs and less crashing related to in game code. The problem now is the fix to the game code has broken the net code.

Playing online is very stressful because you can never be sure if you will make it to the end of the round. Not because you have pressing matters to attend to, but you can never guess if you will be disconnected due to poor net code. The client often drops the connection for no reason (even if you have a sound internet connection), you often can't connect to any game due to "something went wrong" error & a client has stopped communicating error. It's a real mess.

When it does work and I get to play a couple of rounds the game is a must buy... but with these game breaking bugs still looming over the game, I can't say it's a purchase at the moment.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real upgrade from my old graphics card., 17 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I upgraded to the Sapphire R9 270X from my old HD6850 that I got back in 2010.

The graphics card looks like a beast with its 2 fans but it doesn't take up too much space either so defiantly plus points for that. I was worried about the noise 2 fans would make as my old graphics card had 1 and sounded like it was going to take off. Pleased to say the Sapphire Dual fans are quiet, not whisper quiet as you can hear the slight hum from the case at idle but not anything distracting. Under load the fans are still very quiet so I put it down to excellent parts and design.

Performance wise (I have an FX-8320 CPU) this card handles 1080p gaming beautifully. It plays Call of Duty Ghosts on Ultimate, Battlefield 4 on Ultimate and Crysis 3 on ultimate and doesn't dip below 40 FPS in high cluttered and busy areas. Averages around 60-65 FPS.

This card matches the older HD7870.

This card does need 2 6 pin pci-e connections, in the box it did come with 4 pin molex to PCI-E adapters though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Why the bad reviews?, 16 Jan 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have to ask WHY the bad reviews ? Are you new to nutrition or protein bars? They are not designed to taste identical to chocolate brownies. But the taste isn't as bad as people make it out to be, I find it rather enjoyable.
Each bar has 213 Calories, 23g Protein, 16.5g Carbs.
These bars are IDEAL for a quick protein boost when on the go like at work.

If you dont like the taste, eat it fast and dont think about it as the bars are great meal replacements. If you REALLY cant handle the taste then just go back to regular chocolate and talk about how hard eating right is and making excuses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wii U is a great console and very powerful., 14 Nov 2013
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Don't listen to all the hate that's being directed at this console, The Wii U is great fun. This is my first console I have owned since a Playstation 2 and I am very pleased with the power of this unit. Mario looks excellent in HD and the ability to play on the controller to free up the TV when needed is exceptionally useful. The graphics are pleasing to the eye and can only get better as the system ages and game developers master it more.

The Wii U also has some great party games that can be played with 2+ players and always guarantees a laugh. The day of buying it everyone was interested and everyone wanted to see what this console could do and after hours of play everyone was laughing and having a great time!

If you are considering buying a wii U then I would defiantly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Degu's can go turbo without giving me a head ache!, 27 Jan 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I got this wheel because the cage I previously had came with a shaky / wobbly wheel that drove me up the wall because of the noise.

In an attempt to reduce the banging, spinning and whirring of my degu's running rampant in the wheel I decided to go for this wheel due to it's excellent reviews. Now let's be clear about the price, it's not cheap and a small investment. Have to say though, worth EVERY PENNY!!!

It's big enough to fit both of my degu's in (even Bubble who's over weight so hoping he might get slimmer now hes got no excuse); and both of them seem to love it. When my degu's go super turbo mode it's fairly quiet, granted you get SOME whirring noise but too me its more than acceptable! The quality is also fantastic as you would expect for the price, it's not some cheap plastic tatty wheel that you see alot of. It's high quality.

I did have to attach the wheel to the side of my deegiees cage as they seemed to manage to hop it around after a while. Im pretty sure this is more to how fat my degus are and how mad they go in the wheel as opposed to a design flaw, fortunately its easy to attach to the cage (literally a small unscrew fitting on the back)

So in short, no head aches from noise and degus get to super charge them selves in the wheel - a must buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a great game, no questions asked., 6 Jan 2013

I think alot of people have narrow views when it comes to World of Warcraft. Every expansion you see people throw their arms in the air and cry it's the end. But no matter what these people have to say I strongly believe Mists of pandaria is excellent and here is why.

There is ALOT to do in Mists of pandaria not only from level 85-90 but at maximum level too. Alot of people complain about the collection quests, kill quests or travel quests but there is a fundamental problem with their complaints... 95% of them dont actually read the quest text which is just plain silly when you are playing a MMORPG. If you take the time to read why you are performing the action you will find there is a story hidden behind it. Blizzard have done an outstanding job with the lore in Mists, It's worth buying just for the 85-90 experience let alone the end game content.

Content, With any RPG content is key and Blizzard certainly hasn't failed to deliver. With the release of 5.1 a new set of zones, quests and items have been added to the game world to provide even more game time, with that in mind. I dont understand why these people who flame the game justify spending 40+ on a game where they squeeze 8 hours gameplay out of it and claim it is the best thing on the shelves. WoW has always been a time sink, but with good reason: It has thing's to do.

Enjoy the game, It's worth it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good game with some quirks., 26 May 2012

This review is from: Diablo III (PC/Mac DVD) (DVD-ROM)
Having never played Diablo 1 or 2 I never really knew what to expect from the game other than a good dungeon crawler. As far as dungeon crawling goes its excellent with many areas to discover, random spawn locations from mobs, plenty of hidden areas to search for gold / items and best of all are events randomly dotted around dungeons and maps. It's certainly a game where you can spend hours lost and exploring which is a huge plus.

Unfortunately the game feels unfinished late game, with the promise you can solo all the content if you decide too... this isn't the case. The best way to look at end game is the developers got lazy and thought "let's take this difficulty and then triple it". I'm the type of gamer who enjoys a difficult game but there is a fine line between difficult and impossible. The game has been completed by a few individuals with skill exploits in the early game release which has been hot fixed.

Too put the difficulty into context, in act II inferno the rare mobs will hit for 50,000+ when people are spouting the best gear available to them which literally results in being killed instantly resulting in more frustration as opposed to a 'real' challenge. Knowing blizzard however they will resolve these problems over time, the question is how long will it take.

Pros:
+ Good graphics style
+ Random dungeons and spawns for replay
+ Random gear so no two are the same
+ Great variety of stats to play with
+ Many builds which can be further customized with runes.

Dislike:
- Difficulty unbalanced and feels untested
- Some classes farm much better than others
- Bumpy server start (although understandable with so many people trying to log in)
- Short Story
