5.0 out of 5 stars Mystery & Spark, 28 Nov. 2015
This review is from: Follow Me (Paperback)
Firstly I'll start off by saying that even though this book is a YA that by no way means people of other ages shouldn't read it. It's a great story; a fantastic wee mystery and a total 'OMG-I-NEED-TO-FIND-OUT-WHAT'S-NEXT page turner' no matter what age you are if you like mysteries? Give this a try :)

I loved the overall 'feel' of this book. It took me back to my highschool years when I read point horrors and mysteries. That gleeful first anticipation of wanting to follow the book and characters through the World to see what happened; a complete immersive snippet of something different.

We follow Kat as she searches for answers for why, not only her Twin Abby, but several teenagers from their small town have committed suicide recently. We also get to watch her as she learns things about herself, about others and grows as a person.

It's a great 'Who done it - DID someone do it?' way for us to meet some different interesting main characters and some quirky-cool sub-characters that all add to the intrigue.

Kat meets the enigmatic Rob at The Barn (yeeeah you're just going to have to read it and find out about this cool place yourself) and is instantly entranced...but...did he used to date Abby? And did he have anything to do with her suicide?

I can honestly say I wasn't 100% sure what happened with the suicides when I was reading and still wasn't really sure until the very end, which was fantastic. The writer kept you guessing the whole way through the book.

I thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in this World and would definitely go back to visit. I'll be interested to read what other Worlds this author thinks up next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly Engaging!, 15 Oct. 2011
This review is from: Dangerous Deceit (Kindle Edition)
I wasn't sure what to expect from Dangerous Deceit, by Romy Gemmell. Having read many different genres of novels; the Regency Period being amongst them, I started this novel with no expectations.
This is a novel for everyone and anyone. I don't believe you have to like this period to be able to enjoy this thrilling story. The writing itself flows wonderfully, and is not at all dauntingly heavy with wordiness as some other period novels can be.
There was a lovely balance between strong characters, romance, mystery and action packed scenes that kept me entertained throughout.
I thought the characters were believable and found myself drawn into their world - I loved Aunt Hetty!
I am only sad that I won't get to see how the romance between James and Elizabeth will pan out.
I truly loved the romance between Lydia and Lord Sheldon and I have a feeling that they will continue to love and harrass each other in equal measures for the rest of their lives!
I would highly recommend this novel! and cannot wait for the next book from this author!

5.0 out of 5 stars Angel Magic, 6 Dec. 2008
This pewter pin comes with it's own presentation box and card on the specific Archangel that you have purchased. The Pin itself is intricately detailed and the right size, so as not to be garish. I thought the card inside with details about the specific Archangel was a lovely touch, as well as the fact you can pick from a range of different Archangels. This will make a lovely gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars PIGTASTIC, 6 Dec. 2008

For lovers of pigs...or torches; this is an excellent wee novelty gift. You never have to worry about buying batteries, as it gains energy manually. A clever little device that is rather cute and attractive, as well as being a useful tool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shining Gift, 6 Dec. 2008
This silver star is delicate and precious. It can be worn as a pin, or simply just kept as a talisman/keep-sake. The presentation box is a good, simplistic, attractive way of gifting someone with the contents inside. I thought the details on the card that the star pin is attched to, was an excellent detail. This will make a fantasic, magical gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicate Splendour, 5 Dec. 2008
This Earring and Pendant set is a beautifully designed piece of jewellery. The dark blue Swarovski Crystal is actually a little lighter than depicted and with it sparkling, it sets off the clear 'diamond' Swarovski Crystal perfectly. This set of jewellery is more delicate than is shown. Classy and beautiful; it will make a great gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sensually Enchanting, 2 Dec. 2007
This review is from: Heart of Stone (Paperback)
'What secrets lie shrouded in darkness?
Okay, so jogging through Central Park after midnight wasn't a bright idea. But Margrit Knight never thought she'd encounter a dark new world filled with magical beings-not to mention a dying woman and a mysterious stranger with blood on his hands. Her logical, lawyer instincts told her it couldn't all be real-but she could hardly deny what she'd seen...and touched.
The mystery man, Alban, was a gargoyle. One of the fabled Old Races who had hidden their existence for centuries. Now he was a murder suspect, and he needed Margrit's help to take the heat off him and find the real killer. And as the dead pile up, it's a race against the sunrise to clear Alban's name and keep them both alive'

'Heart Of Stone' is the first engaging novel in this exciting Negotiator Series. What a fantastic unfolding new world! This book really came into it's original own when the reader is introduced to some of the intriquing characters. Margrit is a witty, strong and interesting heroine. Throughout this novel we hear from both Margrit and Alban as the two 'narrators', which gives a greater depth of knowledge to the reader. Alban is a strong, sensual and utterly compelling 'hero'. I thoroughly enjoyed the growing relationship between Margrit and Alban, and loved the fact that it is not a locked in certainty for the next novel. The chemistry between the pair grew through this book and lasted until the last page. Like a mystery, the plot and new characters unfurled through the pages, creating a fabulously exciting atmosphere. What a fantastic adventure story! I cannot wait for the next installment into this enchanting world, 'House Of Cards', in March 2008, with the third novel in this series 'Hands of Flame' out in September 2008.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Delicious 'Sweet Spot', 2 Dec. 2007
'L.Roxanne Zaborovsky has nothing ahead of her, and everything.
Seconds aren't like pennies. They can't be saved in a jar and spent later. Fate seeps through cracks and shifts like fog. Pluck a second out of time or slip an extra one in, the consequences will change your life forever. Is the man you love really the man you think you know, or is there a version of your life in which he's your enemy? If you didn't know who or what you were before, would you take a chance on becoming that person again?
L.Roxanne Zaborovsky is about to discover fate is comprised of an infinite number of wires, filaments that can be manipulated, and that she's not the one at the controls. From the roguishly charming Mason Merrick-a shadow from her increasingly tenebrous past-to the dangerously seductive Leonardo Kaysar, she's barely holding on. This isn't a game, and the pennies are rolling all over the floor. Roxy just has to figure out which are the ones worth picking up'

'Wired' is the first breathtaking plunge of a novel in a confirmed duo. This is a fantastic futuristic novel, set in the present day. I loved how the narrator, the witty Roxanne, grew in confidence, knowledge and strength throughout this book, and that as the reader you grew with her. This is an action packed, fast paced page turner and is full of twists and turns. I thought I knew what was going on, only to get half way through the book to change my mind, then change it back again. Great stuff!
After this incredible roller coaster of a ride, I eagerly await the sequel (with the compelling best friend Kitty), in 2008.

4.0 out of 5 stars What a snorker!, 30 Nov. 2007
This is a fantastic little gift!
The corckscrew flips back to be enclosed within the metal pig, allowing the pig to be able to stand on a surface, with the end of the corkscrew sticking out like a curly tail.
The pig looks smaller than is depicted in the above image, which I think is much better, and this item comes in a nice presentation box.
All in all, a great novelty (funny) item, which will make a terrific gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting & Enjoyable Overview, 29 Nov. 2007
This book acts as an interesting and thoroughly engaging introduction to Greek Mythology.
Starting out with 'How the world was created' according to Greek Legend, with God & Goddess names spread throughout, allowing for a previously versed reader to be refreshed, or for a first time reader to easily learn.
The Legends are then told in a short story-like manner, which is an utter delight to read, time and time again.
This book is 'light' in it's writing, but gives much information and a great overview of Greek Mythology.
I highly recommend this book for both young and old alike. You don't even have to have an interest in Ancient Greek Legends to enjoy this book and the stories within.
