I have rated this book at 4 stars because, as a story it engages the reader, particularly following the stopping point of Book 1. It covers more of the theatres of WW 1 than might look manageable with characters being realistically drawn. Perhaps the whole thing is a little bit rosy!
I would recommend this book to readers of historical fiction who want a lightish read for a holiday.
