1.0 out of 5 stars Foxes 5 Scoot 0, 25 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Didn't keep the foxes away. Used the powder as directed near the animals den. The first day the five foxes sniffed at it. The foxes ignored the second application. May be humane but totally useless.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Very Disaapointing, 30 Nov 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This book is totally in black and white making the various photographs and graphs hard to read. As the original hardback version was in colour, this was very very disappointing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Views from a scientist, 28 Jan 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Interesting book. Combines science with short stories of some of the skullduggery associated with modern science.

Well worth reading for a view on how plants and photosynthesis keep the world alive.

US Spacesuits (Springer Praxis Books / Space Exploration)
US Spacesuits (Springer Praxis Books / Space Exploration)

2.0 out of 5 stars A good book let down by the absence of colour, 29 Aug 2009
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The book gives details on the various spacesuits produced in the US. There is a lot of detail on the research and development that went into the suits. There is much less detail on the missions that the suits were used on.

While the cover has colour photos, the book let down by the use of black and white photos and the absence of any colour photos inside. Some of the schematics are hard to read due to the use of various shades of grey.
