Excellent book - does what it says on the tin! Highly recommended for the singer/accompanist's music library. Check singer's translation before you let them buy any other versions though!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 14 Mar 2012
I LOVE these dishes - oven, dishwasher, microwave proof - I haven't frozen them yet but I imagine that would work too! Once cooked the meal can stay in the dish - no need for miles of tangled cling-film any more as they have TIGHT-FITTING lids of their own! I have now dispensed with the old glass lidded dishes and replaced them with several of these in different sizes!

5.0 out of 5 stars Theory Drills, 14 Mar 2012

This review is from: Theory Drills - Grade 2
This series of drill books does exactly what it says on the tin - they are Theory DRILLS - repetitive, and excellent for that reason - LOTS of practice opportunities to drive the points into the brain!
I don't think this would work as a totally 'teach yourself' experience as there are only short explanations of points - not the long-winded ones found in other well known theory books ( no names no pack drill! ) - but a short consultation with someone 'in the know' would suffice for a reasonably receptive student.
The entire series is very good value for money. Generally I encourage my students to purchase books 1 - 5 as very good prep for their Grade V Theory exam.

1.0 out of 5 stars Incorrectly titled, 7 Feb 2011

I bought this - having read other people's reviews, as a teaching resouce for BEGINNERS. It is NOT a beginner's book. It may work for people with MUCH more experience of reading and with better keyboard skills - so this is not an 'anti the book' itself review - BUT do not buy it if you are a beginner! It was waste of my money.

This review is from: John Owen-Jones (Audio CD)
I have loved JOJ's voice since crying through the entire second act of Les Mis to his Jean Valjeans ( having already blubbed through the end of Act One! ). WHAT A VOICE and I second the other reviewer who pointed out track "New Words" in particular. Some of the tracks do not appeal to me - the use of voice in Myfanwy is a little harsh for my taste - but this is totally personal. Well worth the £ and overall a lovely listen - treat yourself!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, 15 Jan 2011

I have had a series of 'moneysaving' cheap kettles and they have all failed one way or another! After the latest disaster I decided to 'invest' in a 'decent' one. I researched the subject by trolling through lots on offer here on Amazon, and I used the feedback as a guide. This one got great reviews - quiet, energy efficient, attractive, fab to handle................etc.
Well, ALL the positive reviews were right! If it is possible to get excited about a kettle ( oh for goodness' sake how sad!!! ) then this one is The One to excite such emotions!
Look no further - this is the kettle or you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent but not 'easy', 5 Jan 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This IS an excellent book but to use the word 'Easy' in the title.........mmm? That is the problem with an awful lot of the music-teaching repertoire - 'Easy'/'Simple are relative terms. Yes, it IS very, very easy if you are talking about a choir which reads music with ease. Not 'easy peasy' as for young children.
I would put the age level as 9-13+. I did try it with 14/15 year olds but they complained that the songs were too childish ( but they would at that age wouldn't they!)
The music is well written, fun and very accessible and the accompaniments add a good rhythmic edge.
