2.0 out of 5 stars Clunky translations, 8 Sept. 2013
Whilst the book is good for providing his entire works and selected letters at a good price, the language is too clunky for most of the time. Wyatt Mason's translations seem to be a lot more flowing and capture the mood better. For example Mason's translation for 'Novel' (the name chosen for his translation) here [...] is a lot more atmospheric than Schmidt's take on it named 'Romance' in this book here [...]

3.0 out of 5 stars It's goood, but.., 6 Nov. 2011
This review is from: Dive Deep (Audio CD)
Somethings missing, the singles are really quite good (Enjoy the Ride and Gained the world) and this format of different singers works better than their previous album, but really without Skye, Morcheeba is like a 3 legged dog. The album does flow well in a sort of background music kind of way, and Ross still shows he's one of the most talented musicians of this generation (he plays all the instruments himself) yet the songs just aren't as stong enough as they should be, it'll only be when they released "Blood Like Lemonade" with the return of Skye that they found their stride again, which has been missing since after the release of 1995's "Big Calm".

2.0 out of 5 stars really not good., 2 May 2011

It started off working okay but now it always cuts out half way through playing something. if you just want to play the wah wah at home and if you are okay with having to start over AGAIN and AGAIN then thats fine but if you often gig: do not buy this item it will let you down severly.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a tricky one., 21 Mar. 2011

I have to say, this is a very difficult album to rate. It captures very well the style of great American genres of old - incorporating rock, blues, folk, americana and country. It has an "Exile on Main Street" style to it with it being a huge mosaic of genres. but when listening to the entire album (all 20 songs) it does feel long and slightly repetative in parts - but like exile it leaves you compelled to listen and listen again. I have just finished my first hearing of "Before the Frost" and I'm actually missing it - don't worry, I do know how weird that sounds! I have a feeling once listening to it a few more times it will soar to 5 stars and will be embedded into my tastes as time goes on. It's the kind of album that I wish "The Stones" were making these days.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bright Red, 9 Feb. 2011
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I've got to say, as a reviser I'm not the best, I've got a short attention span and can't focus well on long texts and black and white revision books. But it's different with this book, it's full of colour and computerised images and as for long texts, its cut up into chunks with loads of pictures to split it up. it's so much better than the leckie and leckie revision notes thats all in black in white and isn't in enough detail. At the end of each unit, there are loads of important questions that test your knowledge. It may seem a risk buying a revision book off amazon that you can't see what it's like before you buy, but it really is a risk worth taking.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT!!!, 25 Oct. 2010
The band is excellent on this one. They manage to be a tight band and yet also keep the excellent raw feel. The real surprise is Charlie Watts though - I am a younger Rolling Stones fan and I'm used to the Charlie from the bigger bang tour - being still a brilliant drummer but this time he is on FIRE! the fills that he does on "You Can't Always Get What You Want" are amazing!

Micks singing his heart out, Keith's just Keith, Mick Taylor's solo's are amazing and flawless and i've already mentioned Charlie.

I would mention all the songs to look out for but it is virtually all of them! BUY THE DVD!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 5 Jan. 2009
I have recently dropped graphic communication to take up chemistry (six months after third year began) and this book has helped me a lot.

i would recommend this to people who are struggling to cope with this subject and students that are hoping to take this up to 5th and 6th year.
