1.0 out of 5 stars FAIL, 27 Jun 2010
Failed after a few months... lost all my work and tonnes of data containing games, videos and music.

Now I'm stuck thinking how to get it back... I've dropped my laptop before and it still works but this just failed after nothing! My Western Digital Passport External Drive still works fine and that is the one I use to travel with.

I produce music and keeping everything including Ableton Suite on the laptop is unrealistic as it takes up hundreds of gigabytes. Now all that valuable data is lost and it would take weeks to manually restore it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Speed, Style and Skill, 20 Nov 2004
Once again we have the return of the classic series Need For Speed with a few changes; new cars, new modifications, new graphics and billions of combinations to put on cars.
What seperates this NFSU2 from the first underground version is that the world is free, like GTA3 and Vice City and ignore other people who say it wastes time and gets you bored, I thought it was a brilliant idea. It's quite fun, especially if you're a beginner, just to drive around the city looking for races, garages and magazine covers to be on. It means that you don't have to race all the time and can get used to the way your newly modified car feels.
I have to talk about audio and display features; once again the graphics have become much slicker and the atmosphere is amazing, the surroundings glide around the car smoothly and now the city has become a lot more defined so you can see where you're going instead of crashing into a tree which you saw at the last moment as the graphics on the first NFS:Underground was not top stuff. With loads of new bands in the playlists, including my favourite Queens of the Stone Age, it gives a whole new atmosphere as the songs determin your racing mood.
Other additions to the game are new cars (shame my car isn't featured though; the Honda Civic 2004 model (3-Door)) and the lincoln navigator wasn't really something I expected to come into the racing world but it did. New modifications include suicide doors, flying doors, spinning rims, double hood opening and awesome sound systems that can be placed in your boot. WOW!!! Everything can be hooked up with Neon and the graphics and vinyl is a must.
So with beautiful scenery (seriously good.... I was amazed) and amazing gameplay with faster cars and looking cooler than ever before I don't see how you won't buy this game.

Skies of Arcadia Legends
Skies of Arcadia Legends

5.0 out of 5 stars The Lost Adventure, 9 Jan 2004
I used to have a Dreamcast and I always wanted to get Skies of Arcadia but then I heard rumours that it was coming out on the Gamecube aswell so since I was going to buy a Gamecube at that time I thought I'll wait... I know Dreamcast died but it left some of the most amazing games (Yes there were some. Some actually were the best games created).
Dreamcast were famous for the great games- Sonic, Phantasy Star Online, Headhunter and the greatest game of all- Shenmue and Shenmue II which went into the Guiness Book of Records for the most expensive game with the greatest graphics. That's right it was huge and nearly every Dreamcast owner (including me) had Shenmue (about 90% which is close).
Now Sega leaves us with one of the great ones on Gamecube (as well as Phantasy Star Online) SKIES OF ARCADIA!
The graphics isn't what the Gamecube can call THE BEST but it's good. The system works a lot like Final Fantasy where monsters pop all over the map but it's really not that bad since the system works much better than games like Final Fantasy.
Now you may know the story or not but it's about an air pirate called Vyse who lives on a secret island but this isn't like any ordinary island. It's a flying island in the sky. That's right everything flies thanks to sacred MOON STONES. The ships all can fly and Vyse can control these ships.
Now Vyse must beat the ARMADA which belongs to a dark city which is controlled by evil people who want to gain control of the world by getting all the great MOON CRYSTALS... Vyse's dad Dyne has also been an air pirate and he has a team called Blue Rogue (but they battle against Black Pirates who are BAD). Now it's Vyse's time to hit the skies into a new adventure hoping to save the world by helping a girl who comes from an ancient civilisation to retreave and hide the Moon Crystals.
Now you see that the storyline is pretty interesting and unique... All you have to do is but the game to experience it for real. This is one of the best games I have ever played and it's extremely addictive so I recommend it to everyone... Even to those that hate the Final Fantasy Battle Systems because this is so much more exciting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Becoming the best, 9 Jan 2004
This book leads you into developing skills on the saxophone in Jazz. It's great and it gets you tuned in to what happens in Jazz... After you've read this and got used to it you'll know everything there is to know about starting the pro Jazz style and it will lead you into developing techniques of your own which are unique and use this to become the great saxophonist.
It explains the major concepts of Jazz and it's easy to learn from and although it isn't the easiest style to become good at this book makes Jazz seem like something you meet every day. This is a good one and I recommend it to all the Jazz players!

4.0 out of 5 stars Keep Practicing!, 9 Jan 2004
This book gets you into the techniques of many different famous saxophone players that are around now. It trains you to listen to music better with more attention as well as playing and improvising. It comes with 2 CDs telling you about each style of each saxophonist and what things you can do to get playing like a real pro.
It's like being taught by 20 teachers and I'm sure every saxophone player will get something out of this book.
I have to warn you though. Buy this only if you like practising and only if you have enough experience. This is real pro stuff not easy begginer stuff.
It's a great book though and I recommend it if you're really interested in Jazz technique and improvising.

5.0 out of 5 stars Final Fantasy VIII Fantastic, 9 Jan 2004
This review is from: Final Fantasy VIII (Video Game)
All of the final fantasy games are the best simply because they are fun to play. They have style, they're unique, they have great graphics, music and the thing that makes these games more special is their adventure. The storyline drags the person in into a complately different world joining Squall as the cool, stylish leader into the quest of the fantasy everone wishes they were a part of.
I don't want to ruin any of the story since that's the major thing that keeps you playing but after playing and completing the game, I just wish there was more.
Although not everyone may enjoy the constant battling system and the annoyances of walking around on the map and being attacked every 10 seconds, the game is very addictive and plays a unique battle system like in all Final Fantasy games which gave inspiration to great games like Skies of Arcadia (Dreamcast), Pokemon (N64, Game Boys) and many more.
This is a great adventure and the story..... WOW!
Hope this helps!

5.0 out of 5 stars Two Words: The BEST, 28 May 2003
Graphics- 10/10 By far the best I've seen on the PC. Very Clear and small loading times.
Sounds- 10/10 The radio is brilliant and very funny and offers you the greatest tunes. The people around you also hurl insults at you when you take their car or hit them, very funny. The sound effects around you are very good.
Controls- 7/10 The keyboard may not be the most enjoyable way of playing but it still works and even though a joystick would be better, the keyboard still offers you good control of the game.
Cars- Better than ever. Faster, cooler, more stylish cars are in this game and they're better than GTAIII.
Vehicles- More vehicles such as motorbikes, helicopters, planes. It's much more fun and you don't sink when you get into your boat and fall off. The guy can swim now. I think this is much better.
All in all the missions are better. It is now more enjoyable than before and even after completing the missions there are so many more things to do around the huge, detailed places in GTA:VC.
I recommend this game to everyone. Just make sure you're 18 first...

5.0 out of 5 stars The way all games ought to be..., 11 May 2003
... brilliant, interesting and most of all fun. With spectacular graphics it'll keep you glued to the computer from beginning to end and there's so much more. Multiplayer offers the chance to team up with or fight against your friends. With vehicles running round the huge terrains you'll be entertained for hours. The only thing that you must have is a large TV screen. A sony projector or a home cinema should do it. The thing is that if you play this on a small screen the 4 windows begin to look very small and you can't really see that well unless you're sitting right up against the screen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Two Words: The Best, 26 Mar 2003
Here's Why:
The game GTA III was brilliant. The storyline and everything. This is a bigger, better, sweeter version of the one before. In GTA: Vice City you can now get into helicopters, boats, planes, motorbikes and more. The graphics are also pretty good and there are hardly any loading times.
In couldn't find any flaws in the game, It just is THE BEST GAME at the moment. So far the missions have been really great and i'm enjoying living the ganster life in the streets of Vice City. The levels are absolutely huge and it'll take someone a long time to know your way about all of them. They are about 3 times bigger than the levels in GTA3 and those were very big. There are better weapons and cars on the streets and it's just a whole lot more fun.
I suggest to anyone who's over 18 to get this game and can handle it. If you havn't got it. You're missing out, even if you havn't got a PC or a PS2 (but of course you probably have or you wouldn't be reading this review) then buy one because this game is worth the trouble.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Phantasy Unleashed, 26 Mar 2003
This is a much more improved Version of Phantsy Star Online on the Dreamcast. I know have both and i'm enjoying it for the second time. Since Dreamcast has died, PSO still lived on and made it to the GC. I think this is the perfect game for everyone. Youngsters can enjoy this very much and I don't think there is anyone that is too old to not play this game.
The game itself has an amazing online feature and this is the one thing that separates this game from the rest on the GC. The Online feature is very fast especially on broadband and it doesn't reduce the speed of gameplay enough to make a player annoyed. It hardly makes a difference.
The graphics are pretty good with big levels and lush scenery and the characters are great. Each character has a very own unique ability so every person playing has his/her own chance to create something very different from everyone else. You can choose different characters and their colour, their weapon and their own MAGS. I have never come across an identical character whilst being online so this is a chance to be a unique person on the internet gameplay.
I think the game is brilliant and combined with version 2 it's become even better and I recommend everyone to get this.
