5.0 out of 5 stars Would've seen this, even if you haven't seen the movie, 14 Jan 2014
Far too many TV shows have done this storyline, as I'm sure many of you know. It's about a man who gets trapped in a time-loop, which continues to reset until s/he completes the task that has been put upon them. Bill Murry is always hilarious and I love the many different things that happen as he ends up having fun ultimately when he finds himself trapped in the loop.

I recommend this to any fan of comedy and Bill Murry.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Bill Murry Christmas, 14 Jan 2014
As you can guess, this is the story "A Christmas Carol" but set in modern times and around Bill Murry as a rich man who heads the advertising department. He's the typical scrooge archetype by being mean to everyone and not caring that it's Christmas. He get's a visit from his old boss/best friend who comes back from the grave and warns him to change his ways and that he'll be haunted by three ghosts.

It's hilarious, but also kind of creepy so I wouldn't recommend it for kids that are too young, though I do love their take on the different ghosts that haunt him and the lessons he gets taught.

Admittedly I've only tried this controller on one game on my PC, via steam (Cave Story+), but it works well enough and I've had no issues with it. I have also used it a few times on the xbox 360 for AC: Brotherhood and it functions fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Gerry Anderson Perfect Series, 11 Nov 2013
A great series that is well loved by all who grew up watching it. The technology had moved ahead since thunder birds to the heads are more proportionate to the bodies and from a tech point of the time it's amazing and I was surprised there was blood in it as I forgot that was how Gerry Anderson did his series for kids being all seriousness.

In this set one of the interviews he stated "Everyone tells me about how dark and serious this series is, but it's a war series. War is always dark and serious." Though a little paraphrased as I havn't watched it in some time.

I was amazed at the detail when I paused every so often. First episode a truck driver goes through a shop and if you stop it the shop has a proper name on top and even tiny toys in the window and shop making it all the more authentic. It's a split-second shot and most lazy people wouldn't have done that much detail, but Gerry was one who cared.

The story, if you didn't know, starts on Mars where a team of agents from Spectrum (organisation that protects the world) explore the surface to discover and advanced alien species. The Aliens do not react, only using one of their telescopes to take a closer look at the vehicle, but unfortunatly the telescope is in the shape of a weapon and so the agents, fearful for their lives, attack the city. Leveling it and killing everyone, until a hidden device re-animates everyone and the city back to pristine condition and so, the war between the Humans of Earth and the Mysterons of Mars begins!

A decent series and like many of Gerry Anderson's work, cut down before it's time, but adored and loved by all who remember it. For any fan of nostalgic TV shows, Gerry Anderson shows and great puppetry this is a set well worth getting.

3.0 out of 5 stars Time to clean the streets, 10 Nov 2013
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Punisher (PS2) (Video Game)
For those who don't know, The Punisher is a "hero" from the Marvel universe who hunts down criminals with automatic weapons and a "No Prisoners" attitude.

Frank Castle was once a happy family man, but one unfortunate day in the park his family was gunned down by being in the crossfire of two mafia families. He was the only survivor and hunts them down for revenge.

As Frank Castle in this game you get to go through missions hunting down criminals in your standard 3rd person shooter, however you can also do things like torture criminals over certain points for interrorgating such as hanging them out a window or putting their face up close to a powered up saw-blade and even killing them after if you want.

You can unlock weapons to bring with you on missions by taking them home from the missions, much like Hitman: Blood Money.

I had fun with this game and the many creative interrorgation areas that you are able to use to coax confessions and information out of perps to hunt down prominant members of the mafia family and kill them.

A lot of fun, but not exactly a game I should say you should go out of your way for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark histories are buried deep., 5 Nov 2013

In this game you are on an island that has been stained with blood over many centuries and the creatures that attack you are each related to the many dark horrors that happened on the island. As you collect sheets of paper from a prisoner's scrap book you find out the many dark pasts such as the creatures with rifles stuck in their back symbolise those who were killed at a firing range, little creatures with syringes in their back that try to stab you are a representation of the many who died from lethal injection. Some having been given the wrong dose died slowly and painfully and so on.

You play as Torque, a silent protagonist who supposedly killed his wife and kids and was now on death row, until the strange happenings on the island free you from your cell to figure out not only what's going on here, but what happened in your past. You collect many weapons and grenades in the game and if you find all the proper peices, you are able to construct a flame-thrower which does a lot of damage to the monsters and even clears smaller creatures from swarming you.

I recommend this game as it's a decent action game and the story holds well, especially as at times it can be quite creepy when it builds up the atmosphere.

I admit I barely remember much about this game besides it being a fairly generic shooter, though now I think about it I do remember you had the ability to mutate into some-kind of human-alien hybrid thing to take on some of the tougher aliens or in tense situations.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, though somewhat lacking, 5 Nov 2013
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
Though it is a fun little game, it's not as good as previous games. Especially as it was clearly made for multi-player only, but the computer AI isn't too bad and the story is still fun so it certainly doesn't fail on the jokes of fun side of things, it's just really distracting that it's clearly meant to be played by four people and not just one and the AI at times can get stuck which can cause some irritation.

I certainly wouldn't rate it as amazing, but if you can pick it up for a real cheap price then you won't be disappointed as it can still be fun. It's just very different from the other games in it's series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great forward step after the first game., 5 Nov 2013

The first game was amazing, but this one really ups the bar. Not only do you gain a triangle action which can make fight scenes feel more cinematic and huge, but you also have returning places, new places which can be very cool such as the Tron world where they actually got the voice of Tron involved in doing this.

A very nice step up from the first and well worth the money.

Really this is just an attempt to make a PC port for the PS2 with limited success. The graphics were certainly improved and when going to the health station a actual syring comes out and injects health into you. You could even destroy them to gain more health from what I recall.

However there isn't really anything new beyond that so in my opinion it's just a failed attempt to port a PC game to the consoles, however unlike Deus Ex, the controls aren't difficult, so you can start playing immediatly without spending about 20mins trying to get a hold of the controls.
