The Best of Modern Swedish Art Glass: Orrefors and Kosta, 1930-1970
The Best of Modern Swedish Art Glass: Orrefors and Kosta, 1930-1970
by Mark D. Friedman
Edition: Hardcover
Price: £43.15

3.0 out of 5 stars Very expensive glass - museum quality., 1 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Definitely for the advanced collector that has 1k+ to spend - up to 40k.

Beautifully illustrated but not a lot of use for the beginner/medium level collector of Swedish Glass. Could not use for ID purposes as you are never going to find any of these in a run-of-the-mill antique shop!

Museum quality stuff which is very nice to look at.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and useful., 10 May 2013
This review is from: Treen for the Table (Hardcover)
The most comprehensive, colour illustrated treen book available. I only wish I had been aware when a lot of his collection was sold! The pictures are stunning and accurate - make you want to handle each piece. A fitting tribute to a wonderful man.

4.0 out of 5 stars Scary but not horrific., 17 May 2009
Very much along the line of Terry Nation's 'Survivors' - but written for children (published 1 year later). Gripping story line but the main character does not engage with the reader - yes, he's in shock but a little more reaction from him would have rounded out the character. I have read this as an adult - but I'm absolutely sure a teenager would be more critical. The ending leaves the story wide open - would be perfect matter for classroom discussion.
